For the people that aren’t familiar with the backstory, the sick dying baby shown on the screen at 0:14 was filmed back in 1985 when Bob Geldof did Live Aid to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine. Through the money raised from Live Aid this dying baby was saved and now 20 years later (2005) is the healthy young lady on stage with Madonna at the beginning of the performance

Agreed, but this version is lacking something extremely vital, that is original bass line. It's like missing a spine that holds it together and makes it sound fuller, juicier.

Like a Prayer is my favorite Madonna song and this is my favorite performance of it ever.
The fact that Madonna embraced that young woman during stage-freight and lead her by the hand of "I GOT YOU! It's ok baby!" says all you need to know about her true character!
100% GOOD PERSON! Based on their facial reactions, even the choir and band members knew what Madonna was doing, and the best part is the song that it was happening to.
The young lady has been through a lot for something she never asked for, and that goes for all the kids out there that have a lack of! As adults we are supposed to unite and do right by all the kids in order to make the world a better place. LOVE EACH OTHER MAN, that's all it takes.

@@hufzte885 I have always been a huge fan of hers and I know that she is the greatest, but if you ask ordinary people, they'll tell you she is an average singer and that producers write songs for her, as if she was a talentless superstar. And that's so sad. Few people know she's a hugely talented artist.

This is a classic song performed live by a super vocalist and entertainer! No matter who else tries to redo it, it’s not going to be better than this original version by the original artist! BTW, I’m 67 years old now and was a classical pianist and organist since I was 5, but I can appreciate talent in any and all genres of music when I hear, or see, it! Well done!
in case you don't already know it, i would recommend to check out tari amos' version of like a prayer. people have different taste and i won't argue which version is the best but both versions are pretty different and tori amos is definately worth a listen.

I've watched Madonna perform live since the 80s. During Eurovision I could see worry in her face. She knew something was wrong and she was panicking. The panic was causing her to be out of breath as well.
