It's the mark of a great singer how he hits the high notes, with generally perfect pitch, live, after so many years. No auto-tune, no studio effects, no nonsense. Respect.

@@bholifield83That’s because there are just TV video recordings available on YT and TV broadcast in the 80s couldn’t transmit live sound easily. They toured the world several times in the 80s with live shows that are only available in audio recordings. I don't think anyone realizes how impressive this is. It was LOUD background noise, and his ear monitors quit working. So he most likely could not hear his own voice, and STILL sang perfectly in tune. You can see him struggle to hear himself when he plugs his ear while singing to try and keep a sense of his own pitch at 3:04 and his monitors are hanging around his neck. What a legend

Some older people reliving their teenage years and wallowing in nostalgia, some younger people, having heard this epic song so many times in their lives but perhaps not knowing who performed it. Most of all just the sheer joy of listening along to one of the best pop songs ever created. Oh and no smart phones either! The audience watching and engaging instead of filming! Just immense.

Anytime someone argues with me that today's music is just as good and it's usually the younger generation all I tell them is why do you think all the music that plays in movies, TV commercials and at sporting events is music from the 70s and 80s. Simple, it's the best and it's what everyone wants to hear. We had dozens of Superbands. I don't see a single superband today.

I read an interview about this particular performance. He was coming off an ear infection and his in ear monitor wasn’t giving him the proper mix. That’s why he kept playing with it. As a drummer that is use to having the in ear monitor if one or both goes out it can really mess you up especially if you’re using a keyboard sequencer with a click track. I’ve had a couple situations where my mix got screwed up with the guitars. If I hadn’t known the song by heart we would’ve had to stop in the middle of a song and get it sorted out. Talk about awkward. Even though “Mort” missed one high note he more than made up for it and did what was best and kept the performance going.

    • @lukebradford

I mean, I love a stage show. Look at Pink Floyd/David Gilmour with the circle screen and the laser shows. Watch the Pompeii version of Run Like Hell and be blown away by both the music and the light show. I don't think putting on a stage show will full theater makes you any less talented. Iron Maiden bring out the pyrotechnics, the antics, the bloody works, they even have LITERAL FLAMETHROWERS just for Flight of Icarus. Concerts aren't just about performing the music. Theatrics go hand and hand with that. Even The Who, Rolling Stones, any of the all time greats all do or have done theatrics at some point. It's part and parcel. Just watching a band performing the music with nothing else going on would be a bit boring, regardless of how good the music is.

    Shying away
I'll be coming for your love, okay?

Slowly learning that life is okay
    Say after me
It's no better to be safe than sorry

There are three members of a-ha. The original band is still together. They have a back-up band, but Morten Harket is the singer, Magne Furuholmen is the keyboardist and he plays several instruments, and Paul Waaktaar-Savoy is the guitarist. It's always been those three. They've been together since around 1983. From Norway.

Молодец! Сам поет также, как в записи. И при этом в таком уже возрасте! Браво! И песня вечная конечно. А-Ha легендарная группа

He’s having live feedback issues. People don’t realise how loud it is when your on stage. It’s hard to hear yourself sometimes. Great job and always the professional.
