Unpopular opinion: I’m not a fan of Aiden and Carrie! I like then individually, but together I’ve always felt they draw out each other’s insecurities/flaws. Carrie does seem more rooted and isn’t sabotaging with him this time around, probably because Big is out the picture. But Aiden still has some of those insecurities to me.
You’re not alone, I don’t like them together. Carrie is just molding herself to be whatever he needs even if it goes against her true nature just like she always has. They don’t compliment each other. Too different.
I think my biggest problem with Aiden was that he wouldn’t go in Carrie‘s apartment, like it’s been 20 years…. If he is still holding onto that 20 years later 🤔🤦♀️🤷♀️
It’s just a shame that only in the last 2-3 episodes they’ve been able to bring back the SATC magic. Last season had 10 episodes, so my guess is that the next episode will be the last. I’m not sad about the show ending, since almost every single episode sucked starting in season 1, I’m sad about the lost potential. We could’ve had so many good episodes to reminisce about. I get that they couldn’t have just thrown Aiden for example in in the first season, since they had to build up the storylines for each characters ( including all of the unnecessary side characters 🙄 ) They basically changed the whole cast and their identity to the core, including their fashion only for the to get to their true selfs in the last two episodes. Che could’ve been a good character in the show, without Miranda being her weit needy roadie. Charlotte had no meaningful plot lines. She was basically only there to further other characters plot lines. Carrie losing Big could excuse, when she’s been off her fashion game, but still almost everything that they did with her felt meaningless as well. They spent so much time on side characters that have yet to develop interesting story’s From the last two episodes I feel like they finally listened to audiences, but too little too late in my opinion. I’ve watched the last two episodes on repeat, because it’s new SATCish content, two reminisce about, but I can’t get myself to watch any other episodes back, because so much of most of them is just unwatchable. Sorry for the rant. But now I really want a 3rd season with the magic I’ve been so desperately craving. I started watching SATC in second or third grade everyday after school with my best friend in secret. So I literally grew up watching it. The fact that they did them all so dirty, I will never get over 😅 Rant over
@@lenawagenfuehr53 Who knows they may have filmed and just cut it as not a good story line. A lot of things don't make the final cut. Or maybe they just didn't have time in the schedule. Who knows. Going to a "country house" anyway is a pretty boring storyline.
So sad to see so many people hating on the show. I’m so happy we get to see our girls at this stage of their lives and my love for these characters trumps the upsets included.
The house viewing scene felt like it was out of the 1st movie. The costumes were very 1st movie. Stylish, elevated, and luxe! Not the mess we have been mostly seeing And Just Like That!

I saw a post today that said Steve should get back with Debbie… i would be so here for that! Totally agree with you about Aidan btw, he definitely has painted himself as the victim. And NOTHING is worse than Aidan’s jacket.
LOL agreed other than Steve and Debbie. Hopefully she has long moved on. Aidan ( unpopular opinion) has always annoyed me as so passive aggressive. I dated a guy like that, portrays them self all mr sweet until he doesn't get his way.
This episode made me super sad, they killed everything about old Carrie. There's nothing left. Carrie as a housewife with children in old boring house ☠️
...I think the writers 'teased' the Samantha "Text" cameo, to get BIG ratings, so they could greenlight a Season 3; They KNEW they messed up Season 1, & were hard-hearded to correct their errors w/ Season 2....but, SJP slept-walk thru the ENTIRE Show, so, methinks she's DONE with it....
Well if that’s the last season, then the message will be again: “ the only way to be happy is to be in a couple “. I wish Carrie could be happy , very happy, fun, adventurous and single! At least for a while. On the other hand, I like seeing her happy with Aiden but I need more then just 3 episodes of that. I’m hoping a third season because the show is finally making sense now 😊
I am a big SATC fan, but Carrie and Aidan's relationship is going too fast, I reckon they will separate again. It just isn't meant to be. Carrie needs to learn to just be single. She was so great single and thriving in s5 and s6 after berger in SATC . I genuinely hope they don't do a 3rd season, I hate that I watch every new episode weekly otherwise I'll have FOMO and they mainly suck and I'm not left satisfied, so I end up watching SATC instead. I've already rewatched SATC 4 times this year! They literally could have made both seasons of AJLT into the 3rd movie because there isn't much to them. You mentioned how they don't show events or storyline playing out like the met gala or Carrie visiting Aidan's house which I really wanted to see too, and that's the difference between the original, there were always locations that the storyline held whether it be Aidan's country house, Charlotte at bunny's Connecticut compound and Miranda's mother's funeral in Philly. I secretly wished they showed Sam and Richard in Rio in s4.. Nevertheless, AJLT always feels like a totally different show, the bizarro version of SATC, which makes Seema the bizarro Samantha who actually wants marriage, LTW the bizarro rich mum like Charlotte but had a career whilst being a mum and Nya the bizarro Miranda maybe? Hard-working career woman who knew she didn't want kids and stood her ground. Lol at my Seinfeld reference, I love Seinfeld too. Anyway, I enjoyed your reviews and this community you've created Kasia, I hope you will do more SATC reviews after the s2 finale.
Patiently waiting for your commentary on the recent episode (last supper pt 1)! After watching AJLT, I always look forward to your videos about them :)
Kasia, you may be right with the show not getting renewed, especially with Sam's cameo confirmed for the last episode. After all, this show's signature move is to start an interesting storyline and then drop it right away. And we know that Kim Cattral is NOT coming back to the show, so it makes sense for Samantha to announce her return to NYC and then the show ending. This episode was alright, but omg, I can't with the lack of follow through. It would be interesting to see how Nya is coping with Andre impregnating his new girlfriend or how LTW is dealing with her husband, but no. It made me chuckle how the writers are hell-bent on making us like Che Diaz :D and I gotta say, pairing her up with a kitten did the trick!
Something that’s reframed my initial feelings of concern/cringe/unsureness with AJLT was realising & reminding myself that I’m no longer viewing these characters as these people whose entire stories and arcs and narratives I know. It was like 10 years from the last movie and in that time I’ve watched the series a few times over & the movies also & those characters were static and safe. Kinda accepting its back to a episodic format rather than the whole start to finish legacy of the show is helpful, because SATC was at its best great short snappy television with funny little stories and side characters each episode. AJLT is quite like that
My god they've got Sam Smith in episode 10 looking as ridiculous as ever. Why would they have that demonic being on their show. They've lost it big time. Look at what he was like when he started, very wholesome, this business has got their claws into him big style. He's definitely gone over to the dark side.
I hope there will be another season, if only because the show just started to get good. I liked this episode a lot, I just wish there weren't so many characters to cram in. I will say what I said last week, though -- I am just not a Carrie and Aidan fan. I am really not a fan of Carrie always changing herself for him, and her buying an overlarge apartment in Gramercy Park feels like Carrie is rushing into something she does not need to be rushing into. As cold as this sounds, if he can't set foot in her apartment two decades later, that is his problem, not hers. It also sounds like Aidan's ex isn't okay with Carrie (understandable), and I wonder if that will play into things beyond this episode. I don't know, I was just hoping Carrie would explore different relationships a bit longer or explore being single, as that is part of what made the original series so magical. I don't want this show to be a direct copy of the original, and I get that they aren't in their 30's anymore, but still, it would be cool to see more of the original magic in this show. Also,I totally agree with you about Carrie's old apartment -- I bet she rents it out to Lisette and doesn't actually get rid of it, as that would be the Carrie thing to do (and the smart thing to do, imo). Again, I really hope this show gets a third season to prove itself, but I do also feel like it is heading toward an ending and, given the current writer's strike, I would imagine it would have been on the chopping block regardless (that is what happened during the last major strike -- a lot of shows that would have otherwise been renewed weren't, which was disappointing but understandable).
Im glad it was renewed for season 3, but I thought exactly the same. It all seemed as if they were preparing for the end of the show. In fact, I think carrie in the second episode of season 2 said “I feel like I’ve been fighting for Sex and the City a long time and I don’t have it in me anymore” and usually we know this show to sometimes the lines mirror reality, so I don’t really doubt the season was made to be the final one. Even the word last supper was a clue
I agree that they seem to be wrapping up many of the plots, but I don’t see any reason why MAX would pulll the plug on a successful show that so many people are watching. I think we will get another season.
Am I the only one who is absolutely not involved in Carrie's story? I'm more concerned about the storylines of Charlotte, Miranda, Seema. Despite the fact that Carrie takes up more screen time - it doesn't bother me
Glad to be the first one. 33 seconds.😂 I really miss the decor of Carrie’s apartment in the movie, way prettier than her miserable grey walls now. I knew Brady and Lily would do it! I knew it!
She should get out of her old apartment whether she stays with Aidan or not...the new place is a big improvement...and real estate is a great place to put your money.
@@KasiaSopniewska 1. Anthony. How does he not know Giuseppe's immigration status? He hired him. The whole plot was stupid and insulting to anyone over 18. Either get rid of Anthony and increase one of the other newer ladies characters or stop with the dumb story lines. 2. Charlotte. How is she clueless about Lily and Brady but can be all in on running out in the snow to get her daughter condoms in the episode right before. She is a horrible mom, which is counter to how we really thought she would be in SATC. Let her focus on her career and leave her girls alone to just grow up. 3. Miranda. They messed up her life completely. Just let her swing both ways and please have her take care of her kid but let's give justice for Steve. Why don't the writers understand that after Aiden, we all love Steve. He is not simply a plot device. Also, Miranda would never completely abandon her career for anyone. The past two years have her acting like a 20 year old - It's just not her personality. 4. Carrie. She is the most annoying character and this is because she drew off of the other characters to advance her storyline but because their storylines are not good she doesn't have anything to pull from to even remotely make her seem interesting. So the writers are consistently looking for something else so in waltzes her neighbor, Aiden, Seema, etc. Seema is a nice character (and checks the box for diversity) but we know nothing really about her because the writers are still using her as a plot device for Carrie. Just bring her in the group already (oh, but wait...they can't do that because Carrie would be boring). So because the writers won't do the work, this horrible nightmare continues. And when I say, do the work, I mean, they need to understand what 50 year olds are really up to these days. We are not getting pregnant. We are not following around our teenage kids. We are not babysitting our husbands. We are not quitting our jobs where we are partners (we don't have do since we have others who do our work for us). We are not worrying about the Kardashians. Trust..we are having fun!!! Fix the writing or the show is doomed.
I know why LTW is pregnant. Think Lynette from Desperate Housewives. They needed to make her less glamorous, more human. So she can't manage her husband's campain - all this drama is much better then fighting with her son's girlfriend over a purse 😂
@@KasiaSopniewska lol, yes, me too! BTW, I see a LOT of similarities between the characters of both shows and I get the same vibe for some reason. Like LTW and family are the Scavos with money and Charlotte is Brie, if she had married Carl. The fact that Kyle MacLachlan's charecters were married to both of them only adds to the confusion, lol. Maybe after the season of AJLT is over, you can do a comparison video? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
@@KasiaSopniewska I liked it because at least there were some actual storylines. If it's between 8 and 9, I would say 8 because we were robbed of the VA farmhouse.

@@KasiaSopniewska thats sad but if s3 will become true then he must come back bc it will be failure without Sam returning and Darren is the only who supported her during SATC era and can make it happen
I don’t think there will be a season 3. The experiment ran its course and it’s telling that an HBO show doesn’t have the fining to shoot a scene in Virginia (or even a rural property actually on LI)
@Claudia82595 They filmed the snowstorm scene in a studio. Most of it was on a green screen. Really, if they wanted to do a Virginia trip, they would find a way
I have a feeling that Sam’s cameo will be her attending Aidan and Carrie’s wedding. I hope I’m way off I don’t like Aidan and Carrie together I think it’s just because Big is dead that she’s with him.
@cindimams4394 Oh, that's a wild idea! I thought Carrie and Aidan might get engaged in the last episode, but you are right. Why wait? They were already engaged.
carrie and aiden always had such chill chemistry, thinking back to them fighting in the bathroom, arguing over the computer. they seemed like a real couple with incompatabilities. i don't know if those issues will come up again but carrie isn't complaining about spending time out of new york, she's finally filling her 'emotional kitchen' with domesticity not sweaters. (i'm high so i get real weird with the analogies).
Only thing i liked about the episode was Carrie's new awesome apartment and the way the three were dressed like you said. It reminded me a lot of old Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda. I miss those old days when SAC used to be great and iconic. That aside, I CAN'T CARE LESS ABOUT THE KIDS STORYLINES and it is getting boring all the time. I don't want to hear about their sexual experiences. Stop that already. Plus, Lily is such an annoying brat. Writers are giving her too much screentime. I also think there is too much happiness for Aidan and Carrie and i don't see them sharing a home either this time. Something will happen. Personally, i am bored almost all the time when watching the show. Unfortunately old magic is gone but i think it will be renewed one more time. Hopefully it will be less painful than S1 and 2. Samantha is so needed. Too bad we will only get a phonecall though i think deep down i don't want her involved in this mess after all.
Horrible show. They don't know when to stop. It was beautiful young and fresh. The original. We've moved on. They've moved on. Enough already. Nobody even cares anymore.
WHERE can they go with these stories? A third time for Aiden and Carrie is a wasteland. Charlotte's kids need to be sent to the Kibbutz to do hard Labor. Che should be in jail for her "comedy" assassination of Miranda. I love Seema but don't buy a happy ending with the film director.
@user-jr1bz2tz2t because they are wrapping up many of the plots: Seema found love, so did Antony, Charlotte got back to work, Carrie is with Aidan, and now LTW got pregnant.
Does anybody really feel connected to these characters, anymore??? The writing, the acting, and the chemistry are off. It's like watching a form of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". Sadly, the "magic" is no more, no matter how hard they try to bring it back.
Also, there is only so far that these stories could go. I am done with the never ending carousel ride of Carrie and Aidan. It goes nowhere and makes you sick.
Has everyone over 50 lost their minds?? After enjoying the frivolity and merry-go-round loves in our 20s and 30s of SATC, this is served up as our lot! And just like that Michael Patrick King, you win for worst room-reader ever. 😮😮😮❌
Carrie and Aiden’s ex have known one another? They had each other’s numbers? In the history of the shows and movies, has Carrie ever mentioned she’s wanted a pet or a man with kids? The new apartment, though nice doesn’t “feel” like Carrie, of the past nor the present. LTW being pregnant. 😐 Why? Adding this feature to her storyline was corny and lazy. Ratatouille and Lily hooking up; corny and unimaginative writing…predicable. 🙄🙄🙄 Seema sleeping with the new client that annoys her during a showing. Samantha Jones wannabe fail. Samantha would never. 🫥 Aiden and his Garanimal wardrobe. Omg. Dude…get a grown man’s jackets, shoes and undergarments. Nya extra loud sexcapades. It’s her place, yes. She’s grown, yes. Still. That was extra. Overall, the episode was a lateral climb from previous episodes in season 2. I hate it here. 😶🌫️

Totally agree with you. Not a fan of them either.
@@rosanneperkins9516 Exactly! He told her the past was the past, but clearly not!
@@rosanneperkins9516 Agreed; if he can't let that go, what else is he not going to be able to let go of? I don't like them together -- I never have.
I get that they couldn’t have just thrown Aiden for example in in the first season, since they had to build up the storylines for each characters ( including all of the unnecessary side characters 🙄 )
They basically changed the whole cast and their identity to the core, including their fashion only for the to get to their true selfs in the last two episodes.
They spent so much time on side characters that have yet to develop interesting story’s
From the last two episodes I feel like they finally listened to audiences, but too little too late in my opinion.
The fact that they did them all so dirty, I will never get over 😅
Rant over
I think there are 12 episodes & Samantha is in episode 12
I heard there will be 11 episodes. And the upcoming one is entitled The Last Supper Part One: Appetizer", so I guess it will the beginning of the end
If there is season 3 will all come down to money. It there were enough new subscriptions to MAX because of it, it will be back.
I thought it was soo dumb that they didn’t show the visit to aiden’s house/meeting the boys. They hyped it up so much and then just.. nothing.
I expect they didn't have the budget for it it.
They could go to Paris in season one, but not Virginia? 🤔

And NOTHING is worse than Aidan’s jacket.

Well, now we know. There IS a Season 3.
I screamed when Miranda appeared with that suiit!! 💚
@hereforit2 our prayers have been listened! She looked stunning (and that suit is now on sale btw)
She finally looked like the Miranda we know
This episode made me super sad, they killed everything about old Carrie. There's nothing left. Carrie as a housewife with children in old boring house ☠️
I just dont care about Seema or LTW, nor Nya. I dont dislike them but i just dont care what happens to them 😂
Same...
@TheOriginalBeverlyMarsh, but it's understandable. We didn’t spend enough time getting to know them and caring about their respective plotlines.
...I think the writers 'teased' the Samantha "Text" cameo, to get BIG ratings, so they could greenlight a Season 3; They KNEW they messed up Season 1, & were hard-hearded to correct their errors w/ Season 2....but, SJP slept-walk thru the ENTIRE Show, so, methinks she's DONE with it....
This felt like the best episode to date!
Oh my gosh! You took the words right out of my mouth, I too thought that outfit looked so much like an outfit on gossip girl. I lowkey like it😂
We always want more, I wish they would show more and not rush through....
If Seema and Aidan get together, as some think will happen, it will be the first time the women on the show fight over a man.
I loved it as well and keeping my fingers crossed for season 3
Patiently waiting for your commentary on the recent episode (last supper pt 1)! After watching AJLT, I always look forward to your videos about them :)
It would be a good idea of Carrie just rents her apartment and keeps it just in case...
Love love loved this episode!!!! ❤
Almost...keep the cat, ditch the Che
Of course, Elizabeth Taylor gonna wear Burberry dog clothes 😅
Something that’s reframed my initial feelings of concern/cringe/unsureness with AJLT was realising & reminding myself that I’m no longer viewing these characters as these people whose entire stories and arcs and narratives I know. It was like 10 years from the last movie and in that time I’ve watched the series a few times over & the movies also & those characters were static and safe. Kinda accepting its back to a episodic format rather than the whole start to finish legacy of the show is helpful, because SATC was at its best great short snappy television with funny little stories and side characters each episode. AJLT is quite like that
Isn’t Miranda a corporate lawyer and a partner in the firm? She could not afford to rent a place of her own??
She quit didn't she?
She quit.
Wouldn't she have had a lot of money in the bank working all those years? She spent all the money on clothes like Carrie
good review. I only care about the original girls so I'll never watch this series but appreciate the recaps.
Oh god yes lily is the villain in the show she's such a spoiled brat
I am still waiting for Samantha (the cameo)
@daphneroman9163 same girl, same!
Really couldn't care less about that. So moved on from that.
@elises.8157 MAX isn’t even available in my country, so they could work on that first and get more money that way ;)
If the money is coming in it will be back.
Yes. I have a feeling the season will end on a cliff hanger, and there's will be season 3. But what about the writers strike?!
Oh yeah, the writer's strike. If the show is renewed it probably will take awhile to come back
@@thewrongshoes Unfortunately none of us gonna have much to watch for another year other than reality crap.
Am I the only one who is absolutely not involved in Carrie's story? I'm more concerned about the storylines of Charlotte, Miranda, Seema. Despite the fact that Carrie takes up more screen time - it doesn't bother me
Only the last 2 episodes have felt most like SATC and I was rejecting the idea that it’s bc of Aiden. BUT, alas, I have HATED AJLT!!! Until now.

@@KasiaSopniewska oooooh 😂😂😂😂
So the question is…does it deserve a third season? I’d say, only if they fix some things!
I agree 👍
@dville5557 what are those things you wish to be fixed?
Oh my God!!! You’re a genius. The reboot of AJLT will be WWHN! What Will Happen Next!!!
I love your english
I hope there is a third season.
I know why LTW is pregnant. Think Lynette from Desperate Housewives. They needed to make her less glamorous, more human. So she can't manage her husband's campain - all this drama is much better then fighting with her son's girlfriend over a purse 😂
@irinakl441 now you made me want to watch Desperate Housewives instead of AJLT 😂
@@KasiaSopniewska lol, yes, me too! BTW, I see a LOT of similarities between the characters of both shows and I get the same vibe for some reason. Maybe after the season of AJLT is over, you can do a comparison video? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

I don’t think there will be a season 3. The experiment ran its course and it’s telling that an HBO show doesn’t have the fining to shoot a scene in Virginia (or even a rural property actually on LI)
Michael Patrick King said they didn’t go to Virginia because during filming at that time it was winter and the storyline is not wintertime

carrie and aiden always had such chill chemistry, thinking back to them fighting in the bathroom, arguing over the computer. they seemed like a real couple with incompatabilities. i don't know if those issues will come up again but carrie isn't complaining about spending time out of new york, she's finally filling her 'emotional kitchen' with domesticity not sweaters. (i'm high so i get real weird with the analogies).
ps. regarding aiden, totally weird about getting married. did he not think she would cheat on him once she became mrs bradshawshaw? 😆
i think the last two seasons are drawn out from the 3rd ,movie that never happened. with more characters to fill the gaps in samantha storylines.
Cute analogy! I love it 😂
That was anything but Chill chemistry. Quite that opposite actually. That's why it's never gonna work.
Nobody even cares anymore.
i think it will be renewed...its finally getting some good stories
WHERE can they go with these stories? A third time for Aiden and Carrie is a wasteland. Charlotte's kids need to be sent to the Kibbutz to do hard Labor. Che should be in jail for her "comedy" assassination of Miranda. I love Seema but don't buy a happy ending with the film director.
I thought the Charlotte and Miranda conversation about their children was ridiculous.
Why do think there won't be season 3?
@user-jr1bz2tz2t because they are wrapping up many of the plots: Seema found love, so did Antony, Charlotte got back to work, Carrie is with Aidan, and now LTW got pregnant.

It's like watching a form of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers".
Sadly, the "magic" is no more, no matter how hard they try to bring it back.
Nope. They used to be SORT OF relatable. But now they just seem like the Real Divorcees of NY. (Even if Charlotte is married)

LTW being pregnant. 😐 Why? Adding this feature to her storyline was corny and lazy.
