She did it because Carrie was her soulmate and now all that past generosity is thrown away because now Samantha is greedy? I don't think so.
Excellent analysis. The joke’s on them - the absence of Samantha has been a real eye-opener. It made it very apparent that Samantha was the glue that held SATC together, that she was the most loyal friend and the most honest person of them all. AJLT has revealed Carrie to be the most self-centered, least honest character and a terrible friend. And all the King writers couldn’t put Carrie back together again. Clearly, AJLT - just like Humpty-Dumpty - had a great fall.
I agree that it was never going to be as good without Samantha. Though Cattrall and the others didn’t get along behind the scenes, they were magic in front of the camera. However, I think the show still had a shot at being decent (even without her) had the writing been remotely good.

I feel like they changed their wardrobes way too much . I understand they might not show as much skin as they did in their 30s40s but they went from fun sexy looks to very conservative librarian chic lol
As a 52 year old I can attest that your 50’s are most definitely not boring OR unhinged. Watching the reboot was very painful. The writers are so out of touch!

My mom is her 50s...and yikes none of her friends nor her behave like the ladies here. They are all very funny, non complaining, love fashion and their careers, etc (Some even go back to school which is something Miranda does in the reboot to abandon it again💀)
One thing that endlessly bothers me about the Samantha storyline is that Samantha never cared about money, Carrie was BY FAR the least wealthy of the group.. she only became more financially comfortable after the book but was still a reckless spender and her income became much better after her and Big finally got together, Samantha worked on Carrie’s book party for free as her publicist so this whole idea of Samantha ending her friendship with Carrie for something so frivolous is incredibly out of character, is like they could not diss Kim’s name so they just proceeded to make Samantha out to be a bitter money-hungry friend.
Samantha was and will always be the backbone of the show. She had her own kind of morals, but never let her friends down. Unlike Carrie who flip-flopped for every guy she met. I am so glad Kim Catrall got off the wagon just in time. This remake is a woke cringefest with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Bravo, Kim! 😁😘
As "inclusive" as their writer's room is, obviously it does not include a redhead. A redhead would've told them that red hair doesn't turn gray. It turns blonde, and then white. That whole storyline with Miranda going gray is biologically impossible.
Does anyone else think that the reason why Carrie on the show was such a mess of a person and terrible friend was because bits Sarah's personality leaked into the character every time she was acting?
If it did, then that was a good thing. None of the characters were perfect or perfectly relatable. But they were a lot more interesting and relatable than the odd cringy cyborg-like women we see in AJLT
No, that typically comes from the general public having a hard time telling the difference between actors and the characters they play. According to other sources, Kim Cattrall was the difficult one to work with.
I have so many problems with this show, and you named quite a few. But as a 52 yr old woman, the way they approach aging and the later middle-ages, I just can't relate at all. They should take a tip from the Golden Girls maybe.
The original pushed the boundaries. Empowered women dating to live their best lives and inspiring others to do so. This reboot should have carried that theme on, instead they regressed.
I never got why they would bang on about being old at 55. I divorced my husband, got a twenty something boyfriend and became a stand up comedian by the time I was 55. Most of my friends are much younger than me and I do cross fit. I think it’s a mindset.
The weird thing is there was a non-binary writer for the show. Che was at least in part based on them. And the actor portraying Che is also non-binary. So how they portrayed Che so horribly, I don’t know. It’s possible they personally just suck as people. ??
Yes!! If you read Sam Irby's work, it's all very very dark, intimate and heavily based in her own experience. She writes struggling about depression, failing marriage and monogamy, sexuality, obesity etc. It makes you feel bad because indeed it does appear she has had a terrible, very dark life and negative experiences. Having that life and mindset to write is way way different from Sex and the city, which is supposed to be a lighthearted positive empowering fun show about privilege white women.
Well yes, just because you are gay or straight doesnt make you an expert on being gay or straight....This is where people get it wrong, people should be judged on their talents and skills not just on their labels. I am intersexed person and i can tell you i dont have a degree on this condition where i can write an engaging script for it. People dont always understand deeply the topics that they are writing about.
Sometimes it's now about the script it's about acting, the way how a show is directed, edited etc. My favourite movie (or at least the most significant movie in my life) "Three Colours Blue" has a hopeless script (filming version) and even the operator/person responsible for pictures said in the interview that first version of the movie was 'unwatchable'. So the script it's not everything. They could cut a few scenes and everything seems different.
I truly loved this!!! you spilled facts. The series was so focused on being woke when the characters all ready had modern beliefs on marriage, relationship, sex and lgbtq rights (besides that episode w the transphobic slur) on the original series. I feel like it would’ve been fine just for them to show us what our favorite characters are up to now that they’re on their 50s, instead they based the series on trying to change them and mold them into new ideas, some of them COMPLETELY out of character. It seems like the writers forgot who the series audience really is, they could’ve show case the life of 4/3 incredible women who aren’t afraid to age while we see them go through real life obstacles that people fase on their 50s and they are so afraid to happen. This reboot was such a big opportunity to showcase modern woman-adulthood- but they literally gave 2 craps about the plot, the characters and their audience.
what transphobic slur? I remember them being so loud in the middle of the night .....and Samantha called them out - you may not do that because someone is transgender or whatever?
@@invictus1961 She called them “tranny” and also on another episode they referred as them as “Half men, Half Women” it was obviously not a big problem at the time but it is now.
@@labasuritaTranny isn't a slur. Also describing them as "half man/half woman" isn't that bad. In truth, they are 100% male with female personality traits and an appreciation for traditional female aesthetics.
Before AJLT came out it was kinda leaked that there was a funeral scene - I was so sure it would be Samanthas funeral. I thought they would just say her cancer came back. Was nobody thinking that?
I think they were thinking the show was gonan be such a hit, and they left the door open only to slam it in Kim's face. Joke's on them, though, the show was horrible. They wanted her to come crawling back for a check only to later reject her or even use her as a cow and continue to exclude her on set and treat her poorly. I believe they are that stupid and that cruel.

So a common misconception about "law" is that if you're a lawyer, you're just "a lawyer". Its like being a doctor. A psychiatric doctor and a neurologist, while both doctors, are certified and studied different things. Just like in law. Miranda was a corporate lawyer. She HAD to go back to school in order to be a Human Rights lawyer
@@JLDReactionsyou're out of your mind of course she does. She looks natural in her age. Kristin Davis especially messed up with that plastic surgery bull.

Sometimes I think about an alternate universe where Darren Star had remained showrunner all the way up to the present day, or at least a universe where his original vision had been shared by his successor. Big would have never come back after the season 2 finale… the show wouldn’t have pivoted to a regressive “happy ending” romantic ethos… idk it’s just interesting to think about.
they make 50+ year to be boring and life to be mundane. They also make it like having a husband with kids is uninteresting. It's like they couldn't have some story lines on married life sex is like with teen kids? or exploring themes on how the women try to spice up the married sex life. Instead they just complain how "old" they are, and try hard to impress 20 somehting year olds. Something the characters would never do in the previous series.
THere is a bit of a truth to it. Not a lot. But... I also agree that showing having husbands and kids is uninteresting - is insulting actually. THere are so many themes to be explored, but when it comes to being single and 50???? While I am not 50, I have a few 40 year old friends who are single. ANd my sister in-law who is 50 has single 50 year old friends... they all are unhinged in some way. SOmetimes it seems like they are trying to live in the days when they were 20, except they arent. And don't understand that the world moved on. THat the life moved on.
@@Lina-lq7jm I think you are projecting your self imposed judgment on women that are single and unmarried late in life. There are women who are MARRIED with children in their 40's and 50's that I know who are depressed and unhinged. Women are told that if they are are not married and have no kids that they are losers or lepers in society, this is wrong. The original series poked fun at this societal judgement and that's why it was cool, rebellious and interesting. The point is that we are all individuals leading our own spiritual path, our lives are not all supposed to be the same nor should they be.
@@melissacollins6442 Self imposed judgment? Explain that to me, please. Also, yes, there are married women who are deranged, but in general... and all stats by the way prove it... married women are just happier than the single women who reach a certain point in life. This is not even me or my judgment talking. It's data. So if marriage and kids is a path to a more fulfilled life for most women (not all, of course) then there should be a certain push toward that. right now what we have is a selfishly hedonistic society that pursue only self gratification that is usually a short term thing. And in the long run... it brings no happiness to anyone.
I think Carrie was clearly not happy about her problematic relationship with Big, she was not single and faboulous, she was suffering from codependency. As much as I recognize revolutionary and contemporary aspect in the first season of the show, I think it shows us lots of issues that we still have in our society today, with over romanticized relationship and marriage! It's was and still is a good mirror today, for women to reflect about themselves! That's just how reality is!
Honestly Che could have been such an amazing character but they just had go woke 😒. They could've been introduced as a new lawyer working with Miranda and instead being the reason for her divorce, they could've helped Miranda navigate her sexuality. Making Miranda a lesbian all of a sudden didn't make any sense because it was clear in the original series that she was ABSOLUTELY attracted to men and she made fun of Samantha for exploring her sexuality. However, Che could have helped her navigate bisexuality without causing an unnecessary divorce🥴
I have been so confused, just rewatched SATC and they literally had an episode where Miranda confirmed indeed that she was not a lesbian, even thought it was clear it would’ve been more beneficial for her career is she was.. but somehow AJLT went back, and I understand sexuality is complicated and maybe took Miranda decades to realize, but it could have been handled so much better in order to make it a logical change.
I don't wanna be a bummer but apparently they DID bring a new key writer to this series, called Sam Irby, which is a POC non binary person. The thing is, apparently she is a writer who focus on writing very very dark and intimate themes based on her own experience and nothing else, and finds funny in cringy and grotesque situations, and most surely made Che as her self-insert. If you hear the podcasts it does appear like the other writers agreed to everything she said and just let her mess with everything. I understand the importance of bringing a poc non binary but in this case I think Sam Irby wasn't it, how can a person who clearly hates white rich people in her work write about a series of rich white people? That's why everyone feels so out of character.
The real sequel to Sex in the City is Emily in Paris, created by the same person. Emily in Paris is the fantasy of today's young women as Sex in the City was the fantasy of women in the 1990's
I haven’t seen this show because I had a feeling it would be terrible and the reviews just confirmed it. Something that really pisses me off is how they seem to have portrayed Miranda as this clueless moron when in the original show she was clearly aware of social justice issues and quite progressive.
you're totally right! initially i have overlooked this, but now that you mentioned it i cannot unseen it. all the characters are dressed so conservative and "age appropriate", no mini skirts, everything is so long and loose-fitted
@@KasiaSopniewska long and lose fitted is not what I mean. It’s how tacky, colourful/garish and age inappropriate (though I cannot imagine an age where some of those outfits would be “fine”) the clothes are. If you throw a mini skirt in there, it would be even more ridiculous. As we age, classy clothes with good fits are important. The costume design was dreadful and they looked like they either in costumes or in the middle of a mania attack. In my humble opinion.
I was completely baffled as to whom And Just Like That was supposed to appeal to. Most women I know who are 50 are still very active, energetic, and out enjoying life - not at all like the neurotic, desperate to be "woke" characters being portrayed here. Very weird, awkward, and overall just bizarre. Get a clue, writers!
3:20 the more I look back on the show, the more I realize how iconic Samantha truly was. I'm actually really grateful that Kim Cattrall did not do AJLT.
Sjp is the villian concerning the treatment to kim Cattrall on set. She was jealous of another woman and used her power to make working conditions miserable. Only a small petty person will do this to someone.
I also heard (although this might be just a made up gossip) that when sjp became the satc producer she deliberately gave kim storylines like chemotherapy just to make her look ugly on screen...
This, plus Michael Patrick King is so obsessed with SJP being “THE celebrity” on the show that he found the idea of pay parity for the main four ridiculous. Despite the show’s success being so dependent on the central four’s relationship. People demonize Cattrall for what they perceive as greed, but she was attempting to follow in the footsteps of the Friends cast and ensure they ALL got compensated the same. The way they took her down is abhorrent.
Why are y’all assuming it was SJP that was the problem? I’m not saying she was or wasn’t but no one other than those behind the scenes knows what really happened since everything is alleged. There’s no reason to come for the entire cast as if we know them in person. Y’all are taking this way to personal. And people come for the talent and looks…. Really not Necessary
What's interesting to me is that the only person speaking out about the toxic work environment was Kim Catrell. No one else has spoken out, at least to my knowledge.
There is a saying that states that "everything woke turns into cacadookie", to put it as politely as possible. This sequel series seems to be no exception. Might watch if I ever want to get my dose of cringe.
They should have had Samantha hide her breast cancer relapse and goes overseas for treatment and passes AND not kill off Big. Let’s see what Carrie is like when she’s not obsessing over Big.
Big was killed off due to Chris Noth’s “me too” allegations (UA-cam has been particular about their comment restrictions). I think the show and network wanted to end their relationship with the actor to avoid tarnishing the brand. Also I think they wanted to keep the door open in the event Kim and SJP make amends/ find common ground. Samantha was a beloved character and would bring more interest into the show than Big.
The new show is so depressing. Samantha's character injected a great deal of humor into the original series, and it is sorely missed. I am watching snippets online and it isn't fun. Should have just stopped after the original series ended. The sequels weren't that great.
I hated this reboot. I'll be shocked if a season 2 happens. The wokeness went unbearably, preachy too far, undermining the storylines of every episode. It was tiresome, boring, overwrought, and I was deeply disappointed. I rewatched some of the original series to see if I was remembering it with some golden aura it didn't deserve, but it was a great series. And this didn't begin to live up to it.
It's aweful. They are trying to make Carrie's character back to before she met Big now that he's gone. I honestly cannot get over how they made Miranda - the straight tight ass lawyer into a lesbian. Was this a way to make up for Samantha's character? 🙄
Isn’t the real life actress lesbian? I feel like that’s why they did that. It’s annoying because in the 1st season, she literally said she was straight and confirmed it with herself and the audience. It’s so dumb.
I was so disappointed in the reboot of this series. I remembered the original sex and the city would always have a great message at the end of each episode and it was always hopeful, but this reboot didn't give me any of that. I missed Samantha!
was Charlotte ever Single and Fabulous (no question mark)... I feel like she spent most of her life waiting for the perfect guy, to give her the perfect ring and the perfect life
You can be a positive person and have negative comments. Coz if the show sucks, it sucks. So, don’t worry about it ;) I was 50-50 about it. And I wished Steve had never went to the bridge.
Loved Kim's tweet! Brilliant, perfect & even tho it was after her brother's death, it was something that i bet she'd wanted to do for forever as well as us who disliked both SJP & the Carrie character
Stating that a writer cannot write about people other than their own sex and their own type would make life for writers impossible. A writer couldn't then write a novel about an army General - especially if they were of a different sex - because they wouldn't have had the "lived experience" - nor write about a child, or a very old person - you can't bring in a binary writer for the show when it's already being written by someone else. Heck, at that rate, why not simply go the whole hog and say "you cannot write about any person other than yourself"? That's literature dead in the water straight off! Fiction authors cover everything and are allowed to write whatever they want. If binary writers are upset - fair enough - in that case go out and write a hit show or novel or play yourselves. There's plenty of space for more good writers! I agree though, that the introduction of new characters in this show seems to have been clumsy. They tried to do too much too fast. And Samantha was a disastrous loss to the series. She could have helped bind all the characters together via her tart observations.
the analysis of this 1d1 ot was really not on point, subjective, ignorant and superfluous. Like AJLT: she wanted to appeal to the the amorphous bunch with mental issues that is not identified with either sex. I tried to say many many times that if someone feels bad because they can't feel identify by a tv show or movie, they should go out and do it yourself and stop wining.
Charlotte looks so great and so similar to how she looked ing SATC. Sima is gorgeous and of course the black/mixed characters look great and are lively. I also feel like they forgot Samantha was in her 40s/50s for the original show and they still styled her fabulously, sexily and in a way that showed off her beauty instead of hiding it or playing it down. That makes it cringe for them to make a bunch of age/we’re old & wasting away jokes. It’s like they forgot what the women valued. A couple jokes spaced far apart I could of been funny if well written but it just comes across as low hanging fruit
I love the show sex and the city, but I feel like after the first movie they should've called it quits. I feel like there's nothing else that viewers want to know about the characters lives. Just my opinion. Great analysis!
I understand they r no longer in their 30s/40s, but maaaaan, they took their fun fresh sexy looks to the most marmy aging looks!!! SJP is 59 so i know they r all pushing 60s, not early 50s....but still! Ooof they aged their characters big time
My parents are in their early 60s and not only look much younger but act much younger. Maybe its an indian thing 😂 which is y seema is also the most refreshing, young looking character
When I was 16 and watched SATC, I wanted to be in 30s just like them. Now that I am 30, and watching AJLT, I am fearful of being in 50s. Is that what they wanted to show? Carrie peeing in bed???? Seriously??

Great video- I rewatch sitc shows I have seen 100 times. I have never rewatched a whatever this is called- and just like that. Agreed, too. Like the middle eastern movie- felt like the writers just dialed it in from home. Someone said- I can pump out ten episodes of sitc reboot in, idk, gimme a month. It is like so little thought went into the writing- it is, as if, greed covered their eyes. They knew we would watch sitc2, they knew we would watch this- you are so right- actual effort went into the writing when it was a show. It was easy to think of Carrie as an actual artist in NYC, a writer, a poet, and a successful one, at that. Now it is like 52 is the new 92 or something. Like, geez, y'all, do a little stretching , lol. You are only as young as your spine!!
This show is bad for SO many reasons… it seemed like they had board meetings to discuss HOW BADLY they could destroy this show, then they would find one minute that wasn’t horrific, and throw in more terrifying moments.
The sorry thing is they thought their writing was good. I've heard the writers podcast, they actually believe they did great. Its the most middle school pat yourself on the back podcast.
Also important she is 10 years older than them, first episode she was 40 while they was 31. So they’re the same age as her in the second movie….. i guess
I didn't watch and I won't, but is it not possible that the writers aimed to make the women look out of touch and place within the current cultural landscape? They harp on and on with this "we're so old" schtick after all.
I was so pumped as to how the series ended! Strong, beautiful and excited women taking on life. Then the first movie SUCKED, totally without the heart that ended the series! The men became superfluous and only useful to lift up those ‘strong women’🤢 Miranda, especially, how could you not LOVE her in the series. She became less focused but how beautiful became in loving without some payback for herself!?! WTF happened?? Can you really become ‘so woke’ you’re dead, dumb AND blind?
They all seem so... geriatric. And they are supposed to be the same age my parents are in, who are still very active an healthy people, despite of having a few wrinkles and grey hair.

And nope, they make having 50 years old so terrible, everyone acted as if they were 80, it was horrible, so depressing. They had a great chance and wasted it in woke stuff. I'm also amazed that the writers all are around 50 years old so my only explanation is that they ARE very depressed and not content with their own lives and that is reflected in the show. So sad.

As a 52 year old I can attest that your 50’s are most definitely not boring OR unhinged. Watching the reboot was very painful. The writers are so out of touch!

@@vmvm949 I’m saying that women do not automatically become unhinged or boring in their 50’s.

The treatment of Kim on the set of SATC won't let me sleep at night, idk why but when i found out they formed a clique against her, I instantly started disliking them in my eyes even though they were very good actresses
it breaks my heart that they treated Kim so badly and got away with it
Same here. I comb over everything now when I rewatch an ep from the first series. Kim, she can do no wrong. Everyone else. I'm judging you....
That is pure rumor. Everyone else has said that SJP was a joy to work with. Even the guy who played Smith agreed with SJP. You are losing sleep over rumors. Stop believing everything you hear.
@@KasiaSopniewska Where's the proof that this actually happened? There is none. So you could be stressing out over nothing. I'm sick of people trying to trash Sarah Jessica Parker without proof.
@@JLDReactions yeah, I know it's rumors but I also, since i heard them, started looking at the characters differently, I can kinda see some tension between the actresses on screen, I'm a firm believer that they can't hide everything just because they are actresses
You're right. So stupid they couldn't have thought of a better, more believable reason. It's like they're out to make Samantha and Catrall look bad.
Yes.
She wasn't acting she was playing herself after awhile.
Yes. Carrie got more and more unbearable the more input Sarah had as a producer -- I don't think that's a coincidence
Show is nothing without Samantha. When I heard she wouldn't return, I knew I wouldn't be watching. Calling it out of touch is an understatement.
Same here.
I felt like a living Samantha but just gay, and black, and broke and in college. Without her I knew this would be disappointing for me regardless.
Me too except male🤭🤭
I never got why they would bang on about being old at 55. I divorced my husband, got a twenty something boyfriend and became a stand up comedian by the time I was 55. Most of my friends are much younger than me and I do cross fit. I think it’s a mindset.
This❤
The weird thing is there was a non-binary writer for the show. Che was at least in part based on them. And the actor portraying Che is also non-binary. So how they portrayed Che so horribly, I don’t know. It’s possible they personally just suck as people. ??
most likely yes
@@chifuchi I have no time for AJLT but I personally find Irby’s essays incredibly funny - very disappointed that didn’t translate across to the show
Well yes, just because you are gay or straight doesnt make you an expert on being gay or straight....This is where people get it wrong, people should be judged on their talents and skills not just on their labels.
50s can be cool too if you know how to explore it. Sadly the creator refuse to change carrie character so she stuck with 30s mentality.
It’s odd. It’s like they found a bunch of 20 somethings to write about life after 50. I’m not quite there yet, but damn…
Portrayed getting older horribly.
This reboot reveals america right now, shallow, loveless, materialistic, and going down in flames! And i forgot to mention americas hate of anything that ages, which is one of americas favorite past time, making fun of people getting old, even though your ALL heading that way.....
Good luck young folks, id say your doomed, but id rather it be a surprise! Btw, we will do as we please at any age, deal with it
So a common misconception about "law" is that if you're a lawyer, you're just "a lawyer". Its like being a doctor. A psychiatric doctor and a neurologist, while both doctors, are certified and studied different things. Just like in law. Miranda was a corporate lawyer. She HAD to go back to school in order to be a Human Rights lawyer
The issue is that Kim Catrall looks much better than all the other actors
Not really.
not really but i didnt like how they wrote her off the show because samantha wanted more money from carrie.
One of many issues
@@JLDReactionsyou're out of your mind of course she does. She looks natural in her age. Kristin Davis especially messed up with that plastic surgery bull.

Sam at 52: sexy, vibrant, hosting bdsm parties and moving to new hip neighbourhoods. Every other character in their 50s: falling apart and completely out of touch socially
I wish Kristen Davis would have left her face alone😢 there's beauty in ageing naturally.
I missed Samantha! That was the best character and Kim played it flawlessly.

@@nenee009 oh sorry
Ikr there was even an episode when Miranda kissed a woman and said she felt nothing.
Lmao I am so glad I’m not woke do you even get how ridiculous you sound 😂😂😂
I though I read she was bisexual? Married to a woman? Am I wrong?
The real sequel to Sex in the City is Emily in Paris, created by the same person. Emily in Paris is the fantasy of today's young women as Sex in the City was the fantasy of women in the 1990's
I'll check it out
Doesn't look that great. Feels very fake like today's shows.
Agreed
Such a snoozefest
You can be in your 50s and have fun
Plus it is painfully too woke
I haven’t seen this show because I had a feeling it would be terrible and the reviews just confirmed it. Something that really pisses me off is how they seem to have portrayed Miranda as this clueless moron when in the original show she was clearly aware of social justice issues and quite progressive.
What ages the characters are the dreadful garish clothes and overdone make up… not the white hair. Quite the contrary to the Natasha appearance.
you're totally right! initially i have overlooked this, but now that you mentioned it i cannot unseen it. all the characters are dressed so conservative and "age appropriate", no mini skirts, everything is so long and loose-fitted
Interesting.
It’s because Kim Catrall has class and is the talented actress and the other three are mediocre.
and she's also a Polanski supporter so she can't be a good person, just saying.
They did Kim Cattrall dirty in the original season so it doesnt surprise me that they treated her this way in the reboot
The reboot doesn’t even meet my lowest expectations.
What's interesting to me is that the only person speaking out about the toxic work environment was Kim Catrell. No one else has spoken out, at least to my knowledge.
Lou Price. The reason Kim Cattrall talks about the toxic environment was because she was receiving it. Not the other way around.
When one person is harassing another, in a work environment, onlookers either stay clear or join the abuser, to try to keep themselves safe.
The sequels weren't that great.
i’m just pretending this show doesn’t exist i couldn’t get through episode one
Charlottes actress looks different in a scary but familiar way now
I hated this reboot. And this didn't begin to live up to it.
oh they are filming the second season as we speak!
I took a 6 month break from TV. That was 168 months ago. Best decision I ever made.
I’d forgotten about those events of the 90’s til you mentioned their relevance- good call!
it’s funny because on one hand it feels like it was not that long ago, but on the other it also feels like a totally different world at this point
The podcast live calls drove me crazy!!!

The fashion is just nonsense. Let’s start there.
was Charlotte ever Single and Fabulous (no question mark)... I feel like she spent most of her life waiting for the perfect guy, to give her the perfect ring and the perfect life
So what? She got what she wanted in the end too. The others not really. She had a goal and she didn't give up on it.
You can be a positive person and have negative comments. Coz if the show sucks, it sucks. So, don’t worry about it ;)
I was 50-50 about it. And I wished Steve had never went to the bridge.
oh yes, AJLT really did Steve dirty

I appreciated Miranda actually looking her age. Other than that, the show was awful.

Catrall's Samantha was my favorite character, actually the only character in the original I liked. Without Samantha there is nothing worth watching.
I didn't watch and I won't, but is it not possible that the writers aimed to make the women look out of touch and place within the current cultural landscape? They harp on and on with this "we're so old" schtick after all.
I hope in my 50’s I’m excited about being a grandma
I TOTALLY AGREE with you
I was so pumped as to how the series ended! Strong, beautiful and excited women taking on life. Then the first movie SUCKED, totally without the heart that ended the series! The men became superfluous and only useful to lift up those ‘strong women’🤢
Miranda, especially, how could you not LOVE her in the series. She became less focused but how beautiful became in loving without some payback for herself!?! WTF happened?? Can you really become ‘so woke’ you’re dead, dumb AND blind?

Totally agreed with everything you said! I've never watched Sex and the City but I did know the characters, when I saw a reboot was coming up I got excited cause I thought it was such a good premise of a show: an expowering show about 50s women kicking ass at work, fashion and love! So sad.
