Eccleston had almost the right balance but got a tiny bit silly occasionally. A lot of people think Capaldi is too serious however he’s not. In my opinion he’s get the right balance between seriousness and human side. For example: In series 8 Capaldi has a defence mechanism and is questioning himself. In a way this shows both his alien and human side as he doesn’t want to connect to people to avoid breaking his heart due to loosing so many people before and especially after 7,000 years on trenzalore. Joel Mole so Matt regenerated Into Peter, peter got a haircut before getting eaten by the dinosaur. Also in flatline his hairs short, long, short long, short hahahahaha. I don’t care about his hair I love him whatever 😂
Honestly, as his hair grew out it seemed to me that was when the character really seemed to settle into himself. He finally seemed to accept who he was and was at peace with being the Doctor and relating to other people as himself.
Capaldi's Doctor feels like the epitome of the character of the Doctor. You can really feel his love for the character in every line, expression, and scene. It's a shame we couldn't have gotten at least three more seasons of the 12th and quintessential Doctor.
I wish 12 could have stayed as The Doctor, his regeneration broke me into a million pieces. Peter Capaldi's incarnation of the Doctor will always be my Doctor.
when I first heard that Capaldi was going to be the doctor I was a little disappointed but he did not disappoint me he amazed me with his performance because he brought coolness to his character and will always be an amazing Doctor
He and Matt hold first place in very different ways as my favorite doctors. David's just like always there too haha. But Peter holds the role like it is him always. He genuinely was the doctor in a way that he can draw from all of them together. I can't explain it but he's definitely a man who deserves the top honors as his acting was just superb
Hello Whovian Fanbase. It's amazing you put Capaldi's electrifying three year run in under 40 minutes. Here's the Cliff's Notes version: At first I didn't like Capaldi, too old, not straight forwarded.... and potentially not as good as David Tennant's 10th Doctor..... that all changed with Seasons 9 and 10 ( Season 10 was exceptionally off the chain with the additions of Bill Potts and Nardole ) and by the time Twice Upon a Time came and went, I went from questioning 12 to appreciating 12 tremendously. Let it be said, that this incarnation of the Doctor will be remembered for possessing the incomparable power of quickening our pulses, heightening our senses, captivating our emotions, a superior intelligence, the coolest dress sense( the hoodies, the jackets, his hair, those sunglasses 🕶....💋.... oops a little fan girling moment...as I were saying...) and leaving us absolutely breathless. And while I'll welcome Jodie Whittaker's 13th Doctor in October, this casual Doctor Who fan will never, ever forget Peter Capaldi's 12th Doctor. Letting him go..... not on my watch, not now, not any time sooner... or later. Thanks Capaldi....you silver fox of a Former Doctor you.... it's been rock and roll for 3 years ( 2014-2017 ).... and I ❤❤ it! And you for making THE ultimate Capaldi Tribute. On a scale of one to ten, I've would've say 12..... but 4 Billion suits perfectly. 😄🙌
NickyBoyCrow its amazing that people didn't like the 12th doctor for being old and when people complain about the doctor becoming a woman apparently you're sexist, well the people who complain about the 12th doctor being too old are ageist and that's worse than being sexist at least theres a valid argument as to why the doctor shouldn't become a woman, the doctors been old many times and has been amazing, pertwee and Hartnell were awesome, this modern audience is so fucking stupid
@@phantomsidious2934 I agree. Peter Capaldi is and will always be my favorite doctor. He was the only one who broke every timelord rules, steals the timelord time machine and save Clara Oswald from death. Peter Capaldi was the only one that had the sonic sunglasses.
It might be the brilliance of Capaldi but I never got why there's this "He's good but the scripts are shit" talk. Seeing this amazing video made me realize how much I like series 8-10. There were weak episodes, of course, but I really enjoyed most of them. And since Eccleston had only one season Capaldi might be my favorite Doctor. ( I don't know much of ClassicWho, I'm afraid.) Tenannt and Smith were also great, of course.
Man,you wanna see “he’s great but his scripts are shite” watch some 6th Doctor episodes. He only has two maybe three good stories but he’s such a good fit for the character and the Doc/companion dynamic is excellent.
Capaldi's run is a little bit longer than 35 minutes, this is a tribute video after all; binge s8-10 and you'll probably remember why people say that. Still love Capaldi as the Doctor and think he was made for the role, the best actor to have played the Doctor (although I think Matt Smith embodied every Doctor in one better than anyone, but the two actors impress in different ways, rate them both very much and neither are even my favourite!). I feel bad that he had the misfortune of Moff's distracted direction and starring in a less popular era, but the even worse misfortune of having to regenerate into Whittaker and herald her and Chib's killing of the show. Moff and Chibs are both hacks but the difference between them is Moffat could hack it and Chibs really can't. Chibs: This song is ending now, and the story is too...
The entire first half of the video was centered both on the Doctor and Clara, just as it should have been. The were two halves of the same whole. They were inseperable. They were soulmates. You couldn't tell his story without her, she was too integral to it. I don't know another Doctor/ Companion pair who were so important and meaningful to each other. They are my favorite duo ever and I sincerely hope we say see them together one last time before she takes her final hearbeat. That would be, as the Doctor would say, wonderful. Long live 12 and his Impossible Girl!
Damn it didn't realize just how much i loved him as the doctor. Especially in series 10. I feel like the relationship with clara kinda kept him fron flourishing. Being the mentor of Bill he truly came into his own
It’s through what he learnt and dealt with when with Clara that made him how he was with bill. As well as the years away after river. But you can’t have one without the other. He developed into what we all loved so much by 10 and then lost it all right at the end. His run was pretty tragic in that respect. As in just when things where starting to go ok for him. They’d be shut down right away. He was in a bad patch during his 12 incarnation that’s for sure 😔
Twelve and Clara is the most iconic Doctor Who pair for me. He wouldn't be as cool and amazing in season 10 if it wasn't for Clara. She clearly helped his character development, from the grumpy antisocial old man in season 8 to the warm rockstar till the end of his encarnation. Even Peter admited so many times in interviews how Clara was important for his growth as a doctor in many ways. No wonder why he punched a wall for 4,5 billion years just to see her again.
12 had the best character arc of the Doctors. The first doctor of a new regeneration cycle, having finally come to terms with his inner darkness and the destruction of Gallifrey in Day of the Doctor, this incarnation in particular finds he doesn't recognize himself, doesn't know what he is, doesn't know if he wants to keep doing what he does, which is a fresh new take to the character, people brand his doctor as "dark", but I don't think so, 12's shtick was "uncertainty", it's not like 10 that by the end of Christmas Invasion you KNEW he was the Doctor, unlike 11 that in the first 20 minutes of Eleventh Hour you recognized it was still the Doctor. This doctor was unsure of himself, as much as Clara was unsure of him, I like to think this uncertainty is brought by his subconscious, wanting to do something different for once after living so long and having experienced so much, hence the first incarnation of this new cycle having that old appeareance. But even if he sometimes made us doubt, 12 still showed us, Clara, Missy and the universe that he was still the Doctor. He went from the brooding, grumpy, and sometimes unsettling old man to the kind, spoiling grandpa that some of us had, and some of us wish they had had. How many seconds in eternity?
This *is* the best doctor the most emotianl doctor the most strongest and developed doctor! I could really go on He's an inspiration hes basically like space grandad and we love him and always will He may be unfortently gone but he will never be forgotten! But rember he is *THE* Doctor! He is an idiot with a box and a screwdriver, or sunglass He's never cruel, never cowardly, and never liked pears.!
Nothing will ever be as heart breaking as forgetting people you love. Nothing. And seeing him forget her was so much for me. So heartbreaking. Even after he forgets all his friends from the past it's still heart breaking.
12 and Clara ♥️♥️♥️♥️ I love there toxic relationship so much, they care so deeply for each other but in such a toxic way loved seeing a doctor companion story like that
Урбанизация Молока Clara is running away from her grief, she’s becomes reckless around him what’s to impress him and in so becomes more like the doctor eventually dying because of it, the doctor has run away from galliftey his entire generation, he owes so much for Clara for saving all his previous selves, he sees what she’s becoming around him but unlike when 11 left Amy and Rory in an attempt to save them, 12 is addicted to Clara he loves her so much he allows her to put herself in danger with her reckless behaviour, jealous of Danny, everything about there friendship is toxic but incredibly beautiful at the same time there addicted to each other and are running away from there problems and not caring about the consequences to themselves, other people, or the universe
for me, 12 encapsulated everything that makes the doctor who he is. a man scarred by his past but driven to the future. a man of seeming unending wraith and almost infinite levels of compassion. a man who is both the most serious man in the room and the most silly man in the room a man who saw the flaws in humanity but still loved us without question. a man who came the closest to turning his greatest rival back into his best friend. in the beginning, he questioned if he was a good man. but in the end, he was a great man.
My favorite Doctor. He was born to play this role and there will never be anyone better. His anti-war speech is one of the best bits of DW dialogue ever
This is amazing congratulations. Even though this isn't my favourite Doctor (thanks to some of the stories in season 8 and 9) this was still so fun to watch.
I can't say I have a favorite doctor because each actor brings out as facet that is a joy to watch. That being said, a Peter Capaldi speech sent chills through my spine, especially the Zygon war speech.
That's probably why he had to forget. The sad thing is that he's been forgetting, not noticing or outright ignoring Clara since his first lifetime. And the closest she came to complaining about it was with that affectionate "quite frankly that was offensive" in her final scene.
He is my favorite Doctor, not only did he have a lot of experience, but he reminded people of the first Doctor, William Hartnell, and the youthful Doctor, Matt Smith.
12th doctors first ever words: KIDNEYS! I'VE GOT NEW KIDNEYS! 12th doctors last ever words: Doctor, I let you go I think that the theme of his ending speech was that Peter just didn't want to leave the role but eventually gave into the fact that 13 was bound to come about(he had been a fan of doctor Who since he was 6 years old)
Until the season 9 finale, and some of season 10, I thought that the 11th Doctor had only been given one more REGENERATION instead of a new regeneration cycle, so for the longest time I believed Capaldi would be the last Doctor. Even though he did regenerate into 13, I still feel like Capaldi successfully managed to combine the elements of all the previous Doctors before him as a final send off
The scene from 11:00 - 11:38 just made me want to watch Capaldi's entire run because I havent yet. I started Who with 11th, the day his episode aired. I went back and watched all of 9th and up to until 11 regenerated. They did get me PRETTY good in the first episode of 12th when Clara was on the phone with 11 but the following 2 episodes just had me lose interest and I never watched anything beyond that. I watched this video up to that scene previously mentioned and was like, "Whelp, looks like I've got some binging ahead of me." Thanks for making this tribute, definitely sparked my interest in the show again.
I really love Capaldi and I never thought I would miss him that much. However, I think that for me 10th and 11th are always going to be "my Doctor" (both of them, I can't choose just one) because I never could connected with the 12th's companions the way I connected with Rose, Martha, Donna, Amy and River. 12th was brilliant, his storyline was fantastic!
“Do you think I care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference?” Excellent line.
I wrote it on a paper, this is a great sentence to say when you feel bad because your friend made a mistake.
Also a bit of a strange and self-destructive sentiment. When someone betrays you they are sending a clear signal that caring about them is pointless.

It is the greatest hair of all time.... the roots of the sunset etc......
Honestly, as his hair grew out it seemed to me that was when the character really seemed to settle into himself. He finally seemed to accept who he was and was at peace with being the Doctor and relating to other people as himself.
Abed?
*Inserts the Doctor's manic laughter from "Lie of the Land"*
Capaldi's Doctor feels like the epitome of the character of the Doctor. You can really feel his love for the character in every line, expression, and scene. It's a shame we couldn't have gotten at least three more seasons of the 12th and quintessential Doctor.
I wish 12 could have stayed as The Doctor, his regeneration broke me into a million pieces. Peter Capaldi's incarnation of the Doctor will always be my Doctor.
I've been putting his regeneration off for a month. Is there any other 12th Doctor media to watch before he has to go?
I love how happy you can see he is when he sees Clara again
I will always remember when The Doctor was Capaldi.

Never realised how much I liked him as the doctor until he was gone
when I first heard that Capaldi was going to be the doctor I was a little disappointed but he did not disappoint me he amazed me with his performance because he brought coolness to his character and will always be an amazing Doctor
Not only is he our Doctor, not only is he THE Doctor.... he's River's Doctor.
Hello Whovian Fanbase. It's amazing you put Capaldi's electrifying three year run in under 40 minutes. Here's the Cliff's Notes version:
At first I didn't like Capaldi, too old, not straight forwarded.... and potentially not as good as David Tennant's 10th Doctor..... that all changed with Seasons 9 and 10 ( Season 10 was exceptionally off the chain with the additions of Bill Potts and Nardole ) and by the time Twice Upon a Time came and went, I went from questioning 12 to appreciating 12 tremendously.
@@stevenhuynh1999 I love Capaldi as the Doctor too, so it's ironic all the things you've just listed are negatives for me! 😅
@Steven Huynh CapDoc is vast, he contains multitudes -- there's much there for anyone to enjoy.
It’s 4 years
God but I miss him! Peter was pure brilliance as the Doctor! ❤️
peter capaldi the most amazing and delightful doctor
Better than Tennant?
It might be the brilliance of Capaldi but I never got why there's this "He's good but the scripts are shit" talk. Seeing this amazing video made me realize how much I like series 8-10. There were weak episodes, of course, but I really enjoyed most of them. And since Eccleston had only one season Capaldi might be my favorite Doctor. ( I don't know much of ClassicWho, I'm afraid.) Tenannt and Smith were also great, of course.
B.U.V. 82 discover the classics and you might see the Fourth in Twelve and much more...
Tbh the only problem was how obsessed the doctor became with Clara at least for me. It felt so out of character
I feel exactly the same. }:)
Amazing!! This is best tribute for the best Doctor! Peter Capaldi will always be the greatest doctor no matter what
The entire first half of the video was centered both on the Doctor and Clara, just as it should have been.
Being the mentor of Bill he truly came into his own
I agree. I only properly managed to get into capaldi in s10. It took only one episode then for him to become my fave
12 & Clara = best companion chemistry all around.
he was, one regeneration worth remembering, by all the universe
34 minutes and 40 seconds of peter capaldi. Yes please.
This *is* the best doctor the most emotianl doctor the most strongest and developed doctor! I could really go on
He's an inspiration hes basically like space grandad and we love him and always will
He may be unfortently gone but he will never be forgotten!
But rember he is *THE* Doctor! He is an idiot with a box and a screwdriver, or sunglass
He's never cruel, never cowardly, and never liked pears.!
Nothing will ever be as heart breaking as forgetting people you love. Nothing. And seeing him forget her was so much for me. So heartbreaking. Even after he forgets all his friends from the past it's still heart breaking.
However 19:04 was a genuinely beautiful scene and a perfect way to close the riversong story
Michael Byrne it’s like a circle, a sad and beautiful circle
When I finished watching this, I cried for five minutes. I'm still tearing up as I write this. I felt like I'd lost my Dad and my best friend.
He was my favorite! Forever 12!
Very well done it captured everything Peter Capaldi was as the doctor. You should be proud of this video my friend.
12 and Clara ♥️♥️♥️♥️ I love there toxic relationship so much, they care so deeply for each other but in such a toxic way loved seeing a doctor companion story like that
chris, why toxic? Explain
Peter Capadli, was and is and always will be the Doctor.
for me, 12 encapsulated everything that makes the doctor who he is.
a man scarred by his past but driven to the future.
a man of seeming unending wraith and almost infinite levels of compassion.
a man who is both the most serious man in the room and the most silly man in the room
a man who saw the flaws in humanity but still loved us without question.
a man who came the closest to turning his greatest rival back into his best friend.
in the beginning, he questioned if he was a good man. but in the end, he was a great man.
I see a lot of myself in capaldi's doctor, and that's managed to give me clarity and tears in so many cases...
Oh God, the feels....
God he was soooo good! The doctor the twelfth doctor, my doctor u will be missed!
He is and He will be the best Doctor for ever. No one compares to him.
What I loved about Capaldi's performance is that he is a fan of the show and it showed in his portrayal of the Doctor.
My favorite Doctor. He was born to play this role and there will never be anyone better. His anti-war speech is one of the best bits of DW dialogue ever
My Whoodie Doctor, the first Doctor I watched from beginning to end live. I never knew I had it so good, but yeah automatically, he's in my top 3.
Same. I was already a huge fan and was so excited for him to be the doctor!
I miss Peter. The Twelfth Doctor was a gentleman. ❤
Yes he was
But so was David Tennant and Matt Smith
In so many ways
I love how spontaneous his regeneration into twelve was
This is amazing congratulations. Even though this isn't my favourite Doctor (thanks to some of the stories in season 8 and 9) this was still so fun to watch.
this was brilliant, you ever though of doing something similar with the 11th 10th and 9th doctors?
exceptionally well done! a brilliant tribute to a brilliant doctor! major thanks for posting this!
I can't say I have a favorite doctor because each actor brings out as facet that is a joy to watch. That being said, a Peter Capaldi speech sent chills through my spine, especially the Zygon war speech.
Even if he loses that Clara, there's still hundreds of others scattered through time.
Living and dying all in the name of saving the Doctor from the Great Intelligence.
Yes, but mainly, he doesn’t remember who she is
That's probably why he had to forget.
Only Capaldi's Doctor could, without any hesitation, tell a Suntaran warrior to shush without skipping a beat
What a beautiful tribute.
Well done Peter.
Good luck Jodie.
Aaand I'm watching this again. He's my Doctor till the end. Ugh.
The underrated Doctor
Only by some; poor things.
For me, the 12th Doctor is my doctor.

2022, one more episode of the current doctor to go and I still miss 12
12th doctors first ever words: KIDNEYS! I'VE GOT NEW KIDNEYS!
12th doctors last ever words: Doctor, I let you go
I think that the theme of his ending speech was that Peter just didn't want to leave the role but eventually gave into the fact that 13 was bound to come about(he had been a fan of doctor Who since he was 6 years old)
I hate when people say they don't like 12 because he is "old"
People who say that are ageist bigots . Being an ageist is just as bad as being a racist or a sexist in my opinion.

Congratulations on this video! It is beautifully done and fully captures the essence of the Twelfth Doctor.
Until the season 9 finale, and some of season 10, I thought that the 11th Doctor had only been given one more REGENERATION instead of a new regeneration cycle, so for the longest time I believed Capaldi would be the last Doctor.
Even though he did regenerate into 13, I still feel like Capaldi successfully managed to combine the elements of all the previous Doctors before him as a final send off
As in, by season 10 he seemed to be a culmination and combination of all the elements of the previous doctors in one grumpy-eyebrowed badass
I find it so hard to watch Dr Who again, knowing that it leads to 13 and the undoing of so much development.
The undoing of…precisely nothing, you mean?
How i miss this man so much
Magnificent! Thank you for putting this together.
He's brilliant and I love him! Best doctor then David then tom baker
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS I'm about to get back into DW but I'm so behind
The scene from 11:00 - 11:38 just made me want to watch Capaldi's entire run because I havent yet.
I started Who with 11th, the day his episode aired. I went back and watched all of 9th and up to until 11 regenerated. They did get me PRETTY good in the first episode of 12th when Clara was on the phone with 11 but the following 2 episodes just had me lose interest and I never watched anything beyond that. I watched this video up to that scene previously mentioned and was like, "Whelp, looks like I've got some binging ahead of me."
Thanks for making this tribute, definitely sparked my interest in the show again.
the River Song christmas episode soooo goood!!!!
Peter Capaldi carried his last season will sheer will

I didn’t realize how much I loved 12 until he was gone.
I didn't expect that music at the end but it's the music I wished for the regeneration scene! Thank you!
I like to think the doctor just decided not to regenerate after the "can't I rest?" conversation
It wasn't until the 12th Doctor (Capaldi) regenerated to become the 13th, that I realized he was my favorite Doctor.
