I had a 2021 zr2, great truck marred by electrical issues. Spent almost a month total in the shop for 8 separate repairs for electrical issues.
My 22 has spent so much time in the shop chasing problems. I was on the wait list for a transmission rebuild a week after I bought it brand new.
@@RobertJohnson-gy9kyYou have to be kidding me! Tell me you are joking!
@quantumfx2677 Unfortunately, I'm not. And it's back in the shop. I was supposed to get it back on the 26th last month, but it's still there as of today.
I had to leave it with the dealership on December 13th and got it back January 12th for other issues, and it's back in the dealership for the same issues it was there for in December.
Oh, and it's currently back on the dealership wait list for a new transmission
The people complaining about the price are living in a fantasy world. You don’t have to like it or agree with it, but most buyers today are shopping a monthly payment. 84 month auto loans are common place. The average home price in the US is $495,000. We are a debt-driven society. If you want a cheap truck, the stripped WT starts at $31k, or buy used. Ironically, the same people bitching about price will be the same ones bitching that there’s no heated steering wheel. 🙄
Right.... Until you do your research and see that the only reason the MSRP on vehicles went up is because dealerships screwed people over during the pandemic, and manufacturers decided to get in on the action.
I have the 22 version of this truck. This truck has a $9,000 increase.
@@RobertJohnson-gy9kyI’m not saying it’s right, but it’s reality. These are the prices the market will bear. People are buying them at these prices. We just ordered two AT4s. Pretty great price through our fleet account. You can sit there and complain that they’re too expensive, but nothing is gonna get cheaper until people stop buying and the govt stops effing with our monetary system. I wouldn’t hold your breath.
MSRP and dealer markup are two separate things…
Not a Bitcher either but Consumers have the right to complain for price hikes especially truck enthusiasts the vehicle manufacturers are definitely price gouging the shit out of them and it's not like they are not cutting corners and having a bunch of recalls. Letting them know in large numbers potential customers are not happy and not buying them could make a change especially all dealer mark ups.
@@RobertJohnson-gy9kyYes, this is what happens in the US. Now going to be the common way to go. Its about $$ and how bad you want it. There are those that will pay it even if its going into debt and living in a tent!
I was going to get a sand dune metallic version - but this black just looks so clean - especially the front.
I'd probably be lucky if I went over a curb at Starbuck's with this. Just wonder if I'd want this over the Tacoma.
Lucky for you I just drove both.

(Tacoma video coming Thursday)
Unfortunately this is the new price! So we need to get use to it the dealers are not coming down on them I watch so many of this videos saying the dealers are going out of f business! That’s bull! They’re keep raising the prices and we keep paying for it, come to Long Island I call it the truck capital, everyone drives trucks and they like their new vehicles! Just saying that we want what we want, sad to say
I was waiting for this video I watched as you made it. I also made a cameo appearance. This is my favorite truck but getting in was a bit much. I think I would have make some type of handle or get a step.
So happy to have met you!
I love the new body style, but I wish they would've kept the V6. I'm off road 6 days a week, 12 hours a day and I go through water features almost every day. I can only imagine how much wear and tear hitting cold water on a hot turbo will cause. Especially since turbos aren't considered part of the powertrain and after your bumper to bumper ends, you're stuck with the bill.
That’s quite the work schedule
@GTGarageTalk Yep, it can take its toll, especially when I drive 120 miles each way.
There’re definitely rear grab handles in the ceiling.
👍🏼
Gorgeous
👍🏼
It does not have paddleshifts, why? We are in 2024, moderm pickups must be equipped with a big metallic frontal and paddleshifts, such as Ford Ranger, it has paddleshifts.
Yes, to answer the question in the title; this truck is better than a TRD Pro in terms of mechanical attributes.
And we very much look forward to real world comparisons.
At the door you lamented the lack of express window down option and then called it the fart button when you found it in the dash.
Also, it looked like there where grab handles tucked in above the back doors.
Credit for not saying something to the effect of 'for this price it should come with..'
Only problem is with chevys 40,000 miles and I the check engine light comes on.
The rims on that truck make it look dated af. Are there choices for nicer ones? 💯
Standard AEV wheels
Not on the AEV version. Those are AEV-specific.
At any point were you going to answer the question of the thumbnail?
Since I’ve driven neither, the answer is up to you based on the features described.
@@GTGarageTalklol
beautiful truck-The Chevy will cost less forsure to
👍🏼
This truck is mean
😉
Anyone know of a dealer that has one of these in n the lot?
They can’t even make it in production right now 2024
Did you try to order one?
Okay it's all too much... The appeal is to a very small number of folks who can afford it, who look great in it, who have a place to store it and maintain it, who has the ego to drive it. But it is beautiful!
Definetely Chevy is better than Toyota!! Great Job GM
👍🏼
For 60k ima get a 1500 zr2
Loved it

@@ojdajuiceman6139 THANK YOU SO MUCH
Not for 60K you won’t
@@MichaelMorrison-p6h used yes
Starts 60k dealers sell it for 100k. Nope. That’s no middle class working guys pickup. That’s for rich boys who buy them for their spoiled kids who attend private schools.
Stop blaming everyone else for not doing your homework back in high school dummy
It's a chevy. No way man. As a former chevy/GM tech and still have friends in the shops, just no. I know the trash GM pushes out. To this day. Old Chevys were great. Too bad GM is trash now and has been for a long time, minus their LS platform engines and their discontinued ecotecs.
Ugh... I see they do have handles..
lol. I meant on the B pillars. 😂🙄
60k for a mid size is insane.
It ain’t cheap, that’s for sure.
For what comes on this truck, it isn’t.
Get a non-off road version for half the price.
Better than what??? Hahaha
That’s the question
