2024 MUDFEST PLAYLIST: • 2024 Outdoor Activity ...
Introduced last year, the fourth generation of Chevy's Colorado pickup truck has been gaining popularity. The truck had remained primarily unchanged since 2015, but now riding on a new chassis, the updated pickup delivers an improved ride, more interior space, and excellent off-road capability.
The 2024 Chevrolet Colorado stands out with a wide grille flanked by slim headlights, overlaid by a bar bearing the classic Chevrolet bowtie logo. This look is styled after the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 full-size pickup. Offered exclusively as a four-door crew cab, the Colorado is available with a range of stylish wheels and tires that vary by trim level.
Inside, there's room for five with good storage throughout the cabin. The updated infotainment system is easy to use and is displayed on an 11.3-inch screen in all trim levels. Popular features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the model line.
Chevrolet offers the Colorado in five trim levels up to the off-road-ready ZR2. The standard engine in all trims is a 2.7-liter turbocharged engine; however, power output for higher trims bumps up from the base-level 237-horsepower to 310 hp. Power is sent to the road via an eight-speed automatic transmission. When equipped with the higher-output engine, the Colorado boasts class-leading towing capacity, rated at 7,700 pounds. This figure is matched only by the Jeep Gladiator.
In addition to its hauling and towing capabilities, the Colorado is ready for adventure with a choice of two off-road-ready trim levels: Trail Boss and ZR2. These trucks come with factory lift kits, off-road tires, specific off-road displays, and a wider chassis that enhances their off-road capability. But for those who want to tackle the most extreme terrain, Chevrolet has added the Bison package for the Colorado ZR2. The ZR2 Bison is a result of a partnership with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). This special truck features an impressive 12.2 inches of ground clearance, 35-inch Mud/Terrain tires, locking front- and rear-differentials, and boron steel skid plates.
The Colorado has a lot to offer, but it has some tough competition in the midsize truck segment from the Jeep Gladiator, Toyota Tacoma, and Nissan Frontier. Perhaps its most significant competitor is the Ford Ranger, which is all-new for 2024, including an off-road Ranger Raptor that boasts more than 400 hp.

ZR2 Bison looks like an amazing truck. 12.2 inches of ground clearance, 35s, f/r lockers, jounce control, steel bumpers/skids, and awesome tech like the cool underbody cam.
11:32 I think the proper way to go up that hump in a Bison is full speed - looks like a nice launch ramp. A Jeep compass could go over that hump the way they had you do it.
I'm very excited for this truck. I've got a preorder down for it too. If only GM can get more of these built and I can get it sooner. Its expensive alright I'll tell you what she has everything I'd ever wanted out of a tacoma. Front rear steel bumper, full underbody skid plates, rock rails, 35in tires and hell they even moved the spare out from under the truck - I always hated them under the bed things liked to rust out. All of this straight from the factory. The work needed to get a 3rd gen taco with these things would put it in the same price range I think. Come on GM! Get to work on those orders!!!
and put a bigger more powerful engine in it for that price! Needs at least 500 hp
Mine was built 2 months ago, they are just holding them… No updates on when I’ll get it.
@markymark959 The L3B produces more HP and torque at lower rpm then both the preceding V6 and I4 diesel it's replacing. Power isn't the issue. Reliability is said to take a hit when you give more work to a smaller engine. But I'll tell you what, should the engine fail after the warranty, this truck would make a mean candidate for an LS swap. But you know personally, I don't plan to fully use the payload or the towing capacity to its fullest so the little engine isn't bound for a hard life. Works for me, maybe not for everyone.
@@l33tm4ch1n31Well, good news today as they just called me that my truck has landed at the dealership! Good to see they are getting to people now.
It's a nice package, but needs more power for what is supposed to ge a Baja truck. Needs a Twin-turbo V6 or the 6.2 V8.

I will agree for more power.
It was designed for 50/50 extreme / baja off roading . need more power stop letting off the throttle . It has plenty 430 TORQUE . Seriously how fast are you going go and have a truck to go to work Monday morning come on be really . If I want to go fast off road we take out the 23' polaris Turbo R and get stupid fast . It's easy to make a HP statement around the camp fire .
Rockin the Maui Jim's! Very nice.
Good eye!
is darth vader holding the camera @ 10:50 LOL
Ha!
Man I would gladly take a colorado over a tacoma but what turns me off is the multimatic DSSV suspension. I haven't heard anything good about those shocks in terms of reliability
Haha. Mine have been fantastic. Best suspension i have ever had. Seriously.
You haven't heard anything good? Who told you and how many people have you talked to? How big was your sample size?
Towing capacity for the Bison is 7700 lbs
I'll wait for a gen 2
This is the 3rd gen Colorado.
lol

Interested to see the results and/or takes for all the vehicle categories. The Colorado looks good, but I just don't trust Chevy/GM reliability and quality. I am a Frontier Pro 4x owner. Thanks for the video.
You're welcome. All 6 trucks videos will be posted soon.
So you do a 0 to 60 but don’t tell the time 😖
No. It wasn't a dedicated 0-60 test with an official clock. Are you in a hurry and need the numbers? You can always check the time on the video to get a rough idea?
The previous gen was about 7.0 seconds in Bison trim with the 3.6L gas engine. The new ZR2 without the Bison package is about the same. With the added weight and larger tires, expect it to be in the mid 7s.
It's slow. Lol Get the Ranger Raptor if you gotta go fast.
When did they start calling a 34.4" tire a 35?????????????? It would be a 34" on any other truck.
Tire size has nothing to do with the truck, that’s tires. Each tire manufacturer call it a 35 or 37 and they always measure smaller when inflated and on the truck.
At 65,000 dollars. I don’t think I would buy this truck any time soon
You can get the normal ZR2 without AEV goods sub 50k starting price
It’s still a hell of a lot more truck then the Tacoma trd pro is at the same price..

Any truck worth looking at starts at 55k it's ridiculous. This still my current dream truck till something cooler comes out.
@@dudeimdanoOnly if you gotta have the top of the line trims. I would just buy it lightly used anyway, leg someone else pay the depreciation.
Unless it's a Tacoma...
65k, 65k, 65k!! Ridiculous 😂
Yes very expensive but can you name me something not expensive ? I’ll wait 😊
@@9663mu true. Expense is relative to the buyer. I surmise the real question is….is it worth the price to the buyer? In my case nope and nope. Thanks for the reply 🤛🏽
We own a 2024 zr2 the front passenger seat inon power and not an option. Normally not a big deal how every it makes it impossible to sit for any type of road trip. Buyer beware!!!!

Too much electronics and tech.
Both mechanically and in the cabin with the dual electronic screens and cameras.
Y'all really gonna do this type of 'off roading' with the Colorado ZR2? 🤨🤔
Handsome truck though.
I'm sure people will. It's very capable. I appreciate the feedback. Most people are gonna lift theirs and put in big chunky tires regardless if they off-road anyway.
Might as well get it from the factory. Lol
Unless you been living under a rock all new vehicles have tech.
i have the zr2 i didnt know u had the camera water spray lol
I was surprised to see that too!
