I have been on the fence between the new tacoma and the higher trims canyon/colorado. I am sure they are all great trucks. I just wish they have a natural 6 in them.

Well, my Jeep Gladiator (Rubicon) has a natural 6...and that's one reason I like it. Nothing turbo, 4cyl or V8 for me -- a N-A 6cyl is fine.
It seems Chevy really improved the Colorado ZR2 starting with the 2023 model...makes it way more competitive to the top-model Gladiators.

The low end punch of a turbo is fun to drive but I'll take a NA V6 myself also.
      I have a 16 Canyon 3.6 6 speed.
Fantastic butter smooth power train and better mpg than they are advertising now.

@@thomaslehmann5981 Well, my V6 Pentastar (Generation 3) and 8-speed transmission (850RE) isn't quite "butter smooth" as your Canyon but like you I'll take it anyway over a 4cyl/6cyl turbo. Well, I kind of HAVE to as I signed the sales contract and the Jeep dealer (in Castle Rock, CO) wouldn't take it back! ;-)
Just kidding...because I DO like my Gladiator, and it's STILL fun to drive going on 3 years now (and 4 long 3-state road-trips) whenever I need to go out somewhere for some reason. Or, for absolutely no reason at all. ;-)

I thought the same. As an owner of a 23 Canyon AT4 with 295/70r17’s with 2”Front- 1”Rear lift, those 295/70’s (33.3”) tires are the biggest I felt comfortable going without a full suspension upgrade. No rub at full lock in the front but really close when fully stuffed off-road in the rear. Still extremely happy with the truck, and love seeing these upgrades in the midsize segment.

Only the Canyon/Colorado get rear vents for passengers. Only the Tacoma and Canyon can equip a moonroof in their top trims (Colorado ZR2 Bison AEV can't have one, and none of the Ranger trims come with a moonroof). On their configurators in top trim, the Ranger Raptor seems like the value option somehow at ~$60k. The Chevy was ~$63k, and the GMC at a whopping ~$73k. No clue on Toyotas pricing as the top trims aren't live on their site yet.
Offroad I'm sure all of them will be super impressive.
I hate the big tire in the bed of the Chevy/GMC. Does the 34.5" tire not fit underneath?

I went looking for a 4x4 truck in 2020..I looked at the colorado and the Tacoma. I didn't want a full size truck..The tacoma at the time, had a plastic bed..rear drum brakes.. and instead of a locking differential, it had a computerized braking that applied the brakes to which ever wheel was spinning.. Kinda defeats the momentum you need to get you up a hill or out of a mudhole...Plus the taco was about $6k more expensive. So I bought a new 2020 Colorado WT. (V6).$31k OTD 30k miles on it now... It had to have the trans flush at 6k miles.. So far (knock on wood) it's doing ok..

You forget that the shocks on the seats were tested extensively on Baja racing trucks first. 2 different models. It's not a gimmick. It's also weight-based, so more precise than any bump stops are going to be. Meanwhile, on the TRD Pro, you get 3-way adjustible Fox racing shocks, which are tried and true. On the Trailhunter, you get even better OME shocks which can take much more weight reliably.

Given the pricing of these Tacoma's, I'd consider it, but I want a manual. I miss my manual. If the GMC Canyon offered manual transmission I'd be having a hard time choosing right now. Colorado's are near and dear to my heart, even if it is a garbage chevy.

Nice looking truck but all the tech is unnecessary and is outright garbage. It'll will only cost the owner more money in the not to distance future. The screen is way too big and in mind is a distraction for the driver. Why does anyone need a launch control in a small truck like this one. LOL The engine is too small hands down and they need to go back to a V6.

Chevy engines are the worse, my mom had a Chevy, it was in yhe mechanic all the time, my brother baught a brand new chevy diesel truck..always in the mechanic!
