Hey guys, my comment.. a show of gratitude. I am not a veteran notary, but am an experienced business person with an infant-stage notary company I am trying to grow. Every ounce of information you just provided is absolutely useful, important, and not to be overlooked if anyone is looking to make it in this business. Thank you for doing this today, for allowing all of us to share this time with you, and letting us in on these great keys to success. I am ready to be a lighthouse. Be great, Dave, NJ
Hi Mary, Thank you. For as long as I've held a notary commission (12 years already), it was only in the last few years that I realized that I could use it as an income source.Thank you for the offer, I might owe you a few dozen of those Doubletree cookies in exchange for business tips. Be Great Dave
I became a Notary in November 2019. December 7th, 2019 I turned 65 and my pension dropped by 1K, I have been watching NNA UA-cam videos and I have Daniel's book! I established my Notary Company "Signed Sealed Delivered Detroit LLC . "You sign, I seal, It's delivered!". I also just passed the NNA NSA exam and screening! I have not performed my first notarial act and would love to have a Mentor! How about that lunch? Smiling, Thank you for the presentation!
I want you guys to know as a new notary here in Crestview Florida, I really appreciate your information that you are sharing! You guys are a blessing full of wisdom knowledge and understanding in the notary field, thank you for sharing.☺️
Thank you for your great information. This is my first time with NNA Conference. Just passed my NSA Certification last week so I'm really green but looking forward to making this business work. Will be getting Mr. Lewis's book and hope next year I will have some praise reports to tell. Blessings!
WOW! I saw this on my timeline this morning! Talk about timing! As a new Notary, here in NY, this was super useful knowledge for me Thank you for being servant-leaders👏 My notifications are ON!
You both open my eyes and made me realize how one can be successful being a notary…. its been a month since passing my NNA exam, etc, but yet to do a signing as a notary signing agent. But watching your video put me at ease to WANT to do and to KNOW I can and that am able to do it with my head held high, pushing away the doubt I had towards myself from being terrified just to start… Agaun thank you both for taking the time to help show the way for us that are new in the notary feild. God bless you both -Anita :
Thank you for such an informative session. I’m very new to this business and viewing your content and taking notes ( as you both recommended) has me feeling more confident in succeeding with my current and future goals in this field. I also look forward to meeting and sharing information with as many notaries as possible. I want each and every one of us to flourish. Thank you both. I look forward to them learning more from the both of you as well as the NNA as a whole. I also wish you both continued success.
Really good information. You both offered some really excellent tips. I loved the acronym "NOTARY SHINE" It will help me remember the great information you both provided. I have recently decided to be a Notary and am working on becoming as knowledgeable as possible through online training. Your webinar has greatly added to this knowledge. Thank you for taking the time to educate and inspire with a wonderful energy. I really loved the break. Lol
Integrity..my 1st and overall impression by this presentation, from the opening statements Alone! Bravo to you both! God keep you both, your loved ones and All 🌟🌼🌻🙏☝
This was a very educational video. Things the others have not spoken about. I'm looking at this for part time, hoping to go full time. I am in Florida. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I have gleaned so much good and motivational information and tools that I'm excited to implement this week. I love the idea about the survey, however in these times it's going to have to be a phone call or email. You said we've got be adept and adapt as well. 😁 You two be blessed and stay safe and healthy!💜💜💜😁
Lots of great tips and information that I can really use, thank you Daniel and Christine! I definitely agree with taking care of our personal wellness so we can be better in our businesses.
First I would like to say THANK YOU guys so very much for these gems of success! I appreciate both of you taking the time to help out us newbies like myself. I have literally have 10 pages of notes, whew my fingers hurt! LOL. I couldn't find my highlighter so I used my 4 year old fat purple crayon, I wish I could show you guys pictures of my notes funny. I am waiting for my state to update their systems so I can apply on June 29th (WA state). I have been watching NNA vids and watching Mark Wills vids too and I am impressive with all of them. I enjoyed the Notary Shine Method and how you guys broke it down. My favorite letters were H(habit) I(initiative) and N(networking). I truly enjoyed them all but those kinda stood out a bit more for me. I came up with so many great ideas while you all were talking. As an example; Outstanding. I noted to never say "no" to an assignment and instead say " I would love to work with you but I am fully booked all morning. Can we schedule for another time this afternoon or evening?" I thought that an open ended response would be better even if they do say no. That way they would know that at the minimum I tried to accommodate them as best as I could. What do you think? I'm so excited about the rest of the workshops that I have set reminders so I would not miss a beat. I can't wait to become apart of the NNA community and other Notary communities near me. Thanks again you two for all your hard work with this workshop! I'm going to find a way to make it to the next conference in 2021. Daniel, will you sign my copy of your book "Make Your Business Our Business" at the next conference lol? :)
Thank you for the positive feedback! We're glad you've been tuning in and watching all the presentations. We'd love to see the notes with the purple crayon highlights lol You can share them with us on Facebook and tag the post #NNA2020. All these workshops will remain on our channel so you reference back whenever you need to. :)
Thank you, to the both of you. Awesome presentation, I learned a lot of information. I’m in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I’m having to start all over with a new career if I’m allowed to return to workable status. A friend of mine got her notary status in the commonwealth of Virginia and it got me thinking more of careers that had the flexibility that I will need when I’m allowed to return to work. So I just did a class and sent in my application yesterday. The town I’m in is a very small town and I “googled notary near me” and the closest notary is 16 to 30 miles from me. So thank you both again after watching your presentations I pulled the trigger on doing this.
Thank you Daniel & Christine for this post and training!! I am a newbie to the industry and actually just launching my business January 5th, 2021. I will follow your guideline here to help me be successful! And I hope to get to meet you two at the Conference 2021!!
Thank you for watching! We wish you all the best in this new journey! We definitely recommend watching the rest of the videos from Conference to gain more industry knowledge.
Your presentation was great, definitely motivation for me to get this business started. My hope is to have my notary and signing agent certifications before the year end. Again thanks for the action steps and all the great info!
I’m in the same boat as email! I already have my traditional notary commission and I finished my RON training Last week. I just have to figure out which online service I want to sign up with which is a decent amount of research in and of itself. My next step is to finish my business plan and talk to a lawyer about it. As well as sign up for signing agent training program.
Do you have any formats you can share with us on setting up a meet-up with notaries near you? I'd love to start networking with them so that we can mutually build up each others' businesses
Ameena, thanks for the great question. I would start with going to SigningAgent.com and creating a profile and check out notaries in your area. The next step is to reach out to notaries that have similar interest via email, text messages, or a phone call to see if there is an interest in networking. Then work from there. Also check out online notary groups. The NNA has notary networking groups on Facebook as well as LinkedIn.
Thank you so much for this presentation. This information was precise and on point for anyone in business. I'm glad I made the time to look at this and take some really good notes. Now on to get my license as a Notary Signing Agent and to put everything i'm learning to good use.
Hello thank you so much for the information I am new to being a signing agent mortgage however has been my career for the last 12years. I am really taking this all in and appreciate you all so much! Any tips I would greatly appreciate! Stay safe
I am notary in California commissioned just recently. I haven't been able to grab a single business of signing yet though I have already signed up on several signing websites. In the meantime, I would love to know how I can get business of signing at facilities such as hospital, jails etc.
Hello Daniel. Hello Christine. Thank you for your video. Thinking about this process can be overwhelming. I found it encouraging and informative. I'm brand new to this notary business. I'm currently in the process of getting everything I need to get started. I've got a lot of questions. One for now for you both is on the National Notary website they have diffent packages for notary and signing agents. Can you do both at the same time? Also a question for Christine is, i'm a resident of Michigan too. Do you have any advise for getting started in this state? Do you need to have a business before you fill out the application?
Hello Wayne! Unfortunately, you cannot begin both the notary and signing agent process at the same time. You must be a commissioned notary before you begin the signing agent process.
Such a wonderful presentation with lots of great ideas. I’m becoming a notary because back in July I had a heart attack and am having to start a new career. I needed something flexible and rewarding to do. May I kindly ask, you mentioned you didn’t have lots of money to start your business, and since I’ve been out of work for two and a half months, things are tight right now. I’m very interested in the survey you talked about. Do you have a link or some way we could get a copy of this money making survey? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Many blessings to each of you. ♥️
Hi Joe. Thank you for watching the presentation. You can reach out to Daniel via his website: www.lewisnotary.com. We also have many free resources in the Notary Bulletin: www.nationalnotary.org/notary-bulletin
Thank you for the inspiring webinar. The information was both practical and helpful. It is inspiring to see how passionate you both are about being a Notary Public and your notary business. I look forward to hearing more great info and attending the conference in person next year. Did you say something about lunch?? :)
Hello! Yes, you can. Creating a website and social media accounts to promote your business are helpful. You can also create a Google My Business account too and pop up for local notary searches.
Hi John. To check on your performance, you can ask the title companies directly. You can also ask the signers to leave you a review on your website, yelp, or google my business page.
You can do it! We recommend reading and watching different trainings to alleviate the nerves. That way you'll be a well prepared notary for all signings, worry-free!
Absolutely! I work a full time job but you could tailor appointments around your schedule or school and church events where your services might be needed!
Hey @Daniel Lewis! I have a fear of emails as well. Do you have a template or any suggestions on how to set up an email to advise notary services to Title and signing companies?
Thanks for the great question. When I started I didn't really send a lot of emails to title companies( I was petrified about even the thought of it). I ended up joining a Toastmasters club in my area and worked on improving my communication skills first. Then I started calling or even walking into the title company's office to introduce myself through taking a survey(that's another story). Once I felt more comfortable with my new list of clients I then forced myself to send informational emails about my services to them at least once a month. This practice helped me to grow professionally and to retain great clients.
I appreciate& grateful for your advice. I would like some more information on Notary Public . Different areas. I am interested. I am from Texas. Thanks& God bless.😉👍
@@NationalNotary I would like to become one in my state. Also what is the different areas to make income& how to go& ask for on the job training to start for I don't have any funds
I love the networking concept and that is one of my take away's. My question are the assignments you sharing when your are unable to meet one's assigned directly from the title company or a signing agency going through a notary database?
Thanks for the great question. When I started I simply networked with other professional notaries in my area and then referred them to my clients when I had other commitments. Professional notaries will do the same for you when they have other commitments during the proposed assignments. It really worked out well.
Hello you guys! I made so many notes with this workshop. I have a question, I am a new NNA ambassador and my interest is to be able to provide notary education in the state of Florida. When I started as an LSA I noticed that there are not a lot of notaries education workshops in the area. You know what they say, if you can not find the resources then maybe you need to step up and be the resource. How can I be able to start this? Where can you direct me to start this journey?
There are some awesome notaries in FL you could work with! I’d suggest researching FB to see if a group has been set up, you can meet via Zoom and then go from there.
How do I know if I'll disqualify due to my background? Will I be refunded for applications and courses? Is there a way to check verification before spending money on courses? I'm not a felon or anything, just a bad driver and a couple misdemeanor possession and paraphernalia charges prior to obtaining a medical marijuana recommendation.
Hello. In a few states, yes, a background check is a requirement to become a Notary. Some states where a background check is not required may choose to run one if you state on the application that you have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony in the past. Notaries who choose to become Notary Signing Agents will need a separate background screening to meet industry standards. What state are you applying for?

Hello you guys! I made so many notes with this workshop. I have a question, I am a new NNA ambassador and my interest is to be able to provide notary education in the state of Florida. When I started as an LSA I noticed that there are not a lot of notaries education workshops in the area. You know what they say, if you can not find the resources then maybe you need to step up and be the resource. How can I be able to start this? Where can you direct me to start this journey?
There are some awesome notaries in FL you could work with! I’d suggest researching FB to see if a group has been set up, you can meet via Zoom and then go from there.
Hi I am Notary Public in India, can I join National Notary Association?
I’m going to refer you to the #NNA2020 Experts!!
Good morning
Hello. Thanks for tuning in!
National Notary Association California. And thank you for responding. I really appreciate it.
