Your Music And Spirit Lives And Will Live In Me As Well As In Every FOO FiGHTERS's Fan And Beyond!!!
It may LOOK like Dave is having the most fun here, but really, Nate is. He gets to play some funky disco bass.
First thing I thought as well 😂 lovin it
I agree, it's way funner to play bass when there's a lot of notes like this
you got to give maurice gibb mad props for some of the funkiest bass lines of all time
100%
@@wghornsby4808 preach!!!!👍👍👍👍🙌🙌🙌
Saw him do this live! I’m now convinced Dave should be preserved in his current form
That is what you call RESPECT. Cheers Foo Fighters.
Love it! Dave is a fellow Gen Xer, and we grew up with disco and The Bee Gees and loved every minute of it. If you can boogie to ‘You Should be Dancing” then there is something wrong with you! Amazing cover. My two favorite bands!
Reminds me of roller skating
Did you mean "can't"?
3 takes and this was the most enthusiastic edit of Pat playing disco found
I LOVE THE FOO FIGHTERS and I am a lifelong fan of the THE BEE GEES....this is a giant win!
F’n unbelievable ~ this just goes to demonstrate the FF are absolutely multidimensional and appreciate roots of blues and rock.
My son is turning 40 he love foo fighters he turned me on to them several years ago! I like them and he sent this video to me because he new I was a bee gee fan! I have listen to even more of them!! No one has ever done Bee gees so good! Thanks for a blast from the past!!!❤️❤️❤️
Just when I thought these dudes couldn’t be any cooler they whip out this number...EPIC!
What makes this so good ? The Foo´s love what they doing , true musicians with so much respect for other musicians and music styles .
I grew up with the Bee Gees both on the radio and in the family's record collection. Thus is awesome. After recently hearing Dave's covers of Baker St and Copacabana this propels me to newer levels of respect for his music. Can't wait to see what he does next!!
@Suzanne Molina me too! Didn't know they covered baz manilow
The best musicians appreciate, respect and enjoy other genres than their own. The Bee Gees are my favorite band, and this is mind blowing!
Hello how are you doing
A fantastic version, very honorable. They have managed to capture all the essence of BG's
How great is Dave Grohl!!!!!
No one likes to admit it but the BeeGees influenced LOTS of artists and genres of music…You rock Dave!!!
A friend of mine who is a bass player said he loved disco just because of the interesting bass lines.
Don’t forget his recording studio is based on ABBA’s too😉
They were a different band before Saturday Night Fever, some absolute classics.
I bought the felt-covered double album Odessa when it first came out.
The Bee Gees were super talented. I'm not sure how many people realize they did a lot more stuff than just in the disco era.
I don't know if this is just me, but Taylor stood out. He's so dang good on the drums!
Dave has said numerous times that he has 'the best drummer in the world'.
You don't know huh?
@@Psyclonus7 lol
He really looked like he was loving it!
Taylor looks like he is loving this
I watch this clip over and over, not only because they have covered it insanely but to see the brilliant Taylor Hawkins playing the drums. RIP mate 🙏🙏
I'm with you there... watched it so many times now, it's all class, sheer joy of music, insane levels of talent and skill. But, most of all, love of music and the FUN of it all!
Same
Yes- the Bee Gee's were genius, and this just proves how great they were. Great Job!
I never would've seen that coming for a million years. But, if you're going to do a cover, do the unexpected and do it right. That was pretty kick-ass.
If Dan Baird (Georgia Satellites) can cover Abba, there's no reason Dave Grohl shouldn't cover the Bee Gees.
@@zone4garlicfarm Agreed
Dave said in a recent interview his drumming on Nirvana was poached from disco. I’m not a drummer so gotta trust him on that!
@@Hogprint25 I'm a drummer and now that I know that I can defiantly hear it
@@hibboisthebest4167 if you want to hear the interview it was with Pharrell on a podcast. I bet you could just search it and it would come up.
If Dave watched the doc, he knows. The fact he would step up knowing the blow back he may receive is just a God Bless you Foo Fighters' moment in music history. My Hero.
The middle backup singer is feeling it
the difference here. the BEEGEES hardly moved their bodies even singing this DANCING....they were pretty much stonefaced. that was definitely part of their appeal'
like how can they sing these amazing songs without moving always confounded me. the Foos much more active...which is of course a good change.
I am eighty year old and listened to the BEEGEES for decades. I like that BEEGEE stuff is coming back BIG. THANK YOU...FOO FIGHTERS
foo fighters push covid govt narrative
Nuff said
@@theyredistortingyourrhthym126 Oh that manufactured outrage, you people find it everywhere, the constant victims, you even found a reason to cry about the Foo Fighters:)....does reality upset your delusion brother? What narrative is it, I'm curious?.....and do me a favor, leave the pathetic fantasy of yours in the basement and give us all some facts...sound like a deal Champ?:) Go cry somewhere else, we're all sick of the bullshit.
Agreed, people should leave. Their political comments on political sites. I enjoy NOT talking about politics on music sites it is my escape from that insanity. If you think politically on everything including music you are missing out on the fun of it & it is a sad way to view the world. Go to CNN or FOX News if you want to complain about politics do not infest music sites with that crap.
Metal fans: I hate disco
Foo fighters: you should be dancin
Didn't get the cross reference between Foo fighters and metal though.
@@ShyamlalPV I was about to say exact same thing.
dancing is lame, i want to thrash.
Lead Izolatorz ...HA! That was good.
@@xXfrankreynolds69Xx You say that as though moshing isn't a form of dancing...
this is it. they've won music.
They all look like they are having so much fun on this one! I love the Foos
I love Disco, I know it won't ever make a full comeback as it was in the 70s but I'm looking forward to the Dee Gees Foo Fighters album. I wonder what other songs they are going to cover.
The name of the album will be "Hail Satin"
It will include 4 Bee Gees covers : Night Fever, Tragedy, You Should Be Dancing and More Than a Woman.
Side one of the LP will also include their version of Andy Gibb's Shadow Dancing
Side two will feature five live versions of songs from their last album Medicine at Midnight.
It will be released on vinyl for US Record Store Day on 17 July.
There's also "fever night" and "tragedy" for sure and two more for a total of five songs
This is the 🎟!!
Disco sucks
@@thomasodetinape4180 Nope. Open your mind.
They should perform this live with Barry Gibb himself, it would be a blast.
Dave will make it happen I'd bet a million bucks
It will be double blast if Barry Gibb performs a song or two of the Foo Fighters.
Agree!👍🇸🇪😘
@@kloop1948 Not taking that bet fam.
Barry is 74 years old. I don't know if he can hit those high notes like he did when he was younger. But his son Stephen is a rocker.

2: okay I’m feeling this 🕺
3: why not one more time 🤩

Now if they remade the Kiss Dynasty album I'd be blown away.
Bee gees are amazeballs. I wish I discovered them more thoroughly when I was younger. The late '60s stuff is amazing
I mean this is late 70’s my dude.
@@jeffwestcott6902 Yes, this tune was late 70's but the Bee Gee's started in the mid-60's
Correction: actually the 3 brother's Gibb started performing as children and then hit the charts in the mid-60's.
Well done, you can tell they were serious about getting this done right. It's not a parody, not their own harder spin on it. Just a great tune.
There was no way they couldn’t have gotten it right, given the fun they were having and their pure talent. Love that they did this. They could make a Barry Manilow song rock.
This is a tribute. Really great!
You know I think there is a spin on it...That into is even more disco than the original was. Brilliant.
I feel we all missed an opportunity to be introduced to the Foo Gees
Stealing this!! 😂😂😂
Brilliant comment!!!
I don't think Im ready for Dave's cover of Fu-Gee-La or Killing Me Softly!! hehe
I never knew this was missing from my life until now. This is perfection. Hearing Foo fighters doing Tragedy has made my life complete.
An instant masterpiece...Dave is awesome...RIP TAYLOR
I love how Nate is always just in his own world no matter what song he's playing.
I noticed that! A very focused guy.
Always lol
I'm a die hard Bee Gee fan, so I'm pretty protective over any undeserved Bee Gee criticism and a bit harsh over cover attempts. But the fact that I am back listening to this for the 8th time says this is fricking GREAT. I'm now a Dave Grohl fan.
Welcome to the party 🙂
that's a relief
100%!
Aah, Dee Gees back in their prime at early 70's! Great to see this video finally surface after so many years. They never really had that same commercial success with that Foo Fighters rock band and guys are turning 90 pretty soon...
I love this version! They nailed this. Taylor on the drums. Damn Dave’s vocals. 100💕💨💕
I am in Africa on deployment and when i heard about this I called every friend, friend of a friend, parent, in-laws, and friends of in-laws to get a vinyl copy of this. Could not be more thrilled.
Have you gotten it if not I can try to help
Unbelievable how they nailed the musical rhythm and sound of the Bee Gees! Have to say that I love it
Incredible. I cant stop listening. Id love to hear Barry's opinion. I am sure its coming.
I believe they played this at the bee gees induction ceremony or something to do with the bee gees where everyone picked a song amd sang it in front if him and his family and brothers family ...
Taylor @ 1:38. Was this guy ever not constantly smiling, looking like he was having the time of his life, his entire life? Good on ya bro', thanks for bringing us along on your ride. Worth every minute of it.
The Bee Gees used their voices as instruments. Not many would tackle a Bee Gee cover, if any. This is really a great job. Kudos to Foo Fighters. A Def Rock band no less. Wow.
FF aren't metal.
@@JasonUmbrellabird sorry, Rock then?
@@JasonUmbrellabird I do apologize. It's like people calling music disco when it is R&B funk. Disco is a building where people gather to dance to a DJ. It is not a genere of music. But it still persists. Just because you can dance to any form of music does not make it disco. ua-cam.com/video/l11mkvCLkzw/v-deo.html

Can we address the real talent in this video? Those backup singers! Wowsers, ladies.
This is the best damn cover that I have heard in quite some time.

Wow! Dave now that’s one hell of a vocal performance!! 🙌🤘⚡️📻💥
What a suprising and stunning cover. Dave Grohl is a very talented genius, growing and never stopping. Just "I do it `cause I can" stuff. Taylor`s forcing drive on the drums, simply terrific, his signature snare pitch blended to perform this timeless tune, as same as every Foo`s originals. Very cool, remarkable!!!.

I was listening to the Bee Gees and came across Foo Fighters doing this song, and listened and really liked their version. I have to admit I have never heard a Foo Fighters song before, now I'm hooked!
Well, that was WAY more awesome than it had any right to be.
As a Bee Gees fan, I'm totally in love with this tribute cover.
That was absolutely BADASS. The Gibbs would be proud. A classic brought to an updated version. Thank you!
Foo Fighters are very humble musicians! You didn't lose your persona as a band! Love it!
The fact that this has annoyed so many people makes this an actual punk rock song now.
Finally someone who gets it.

Why are people annoyed?
It’s a disco song

When you get older you realise that the music you sort of dismissed as being too commercial when you were young and into punk is actually quite fun and nostalgic.
