That was MY first time hearing *that* version as well. One soaked tissue later I still have tears running down my face. WHAT an amazing rendition. RIP Gary, sadly missed.
Taking nothing away from the absolutely stunning performance and talent of Mr. Moore, hearing this song sung by the late great Phil Lynott is mandatory! His magical, velvety voice accompanied by Gary's sobbing guitar will bring chills down the spine of any listener!
In 1989 I was working as a crew person for a German band called Victory. We were Support band for Gary for 40 shows on Gary's After the War tour. It was life changing to hear him play every night. He was a nice guy to. We talked many times. He sat with me while I was checking out a new guitar amp and he signed my laminate tour pass which is one of my cherished mementos of that time. I'm still at it and work for Foghat now. Thanks for doing this song. He is missed.
My heart goes out to you & your family for your loss. Music & people live forever in our hearts & our memories. They are always with us & their souls smile every time we think of them. You gave him & now your wife the best gift one can...music. It's instant teleportation to anywhere & any time you want, if you let it take you. You gave your son not only the gift of music but also the best friend one can have, that guitar behind you. My dad gave me my first guitar & I'll forever be thankful & indebted to him for giving me such a friend & love in life.
8 years since he passed!!! My girlfriend met him a few times and always said what a lovely man he was. An ordinary man doing extraordinary things. Great reaction... Thank you
Yeah such a nice man, he lived in kingwood common, Oxfordshire for a while (1990's). just up the road from where I lived in Peppard. you often see him in the village. I was one of a few locals who knew who he was, being a fan since the mid 80's after stumbling on the victims of the future album.
I can vouch for that as I was lucky enough to do some vocals for him on an album many years back in London. A superb and caring human being. He is sorely missed.
Thank you so much for this ! Gary Moore has to be one of the greats ! If anyone can channel their soul through the instrument, its Gary Moore. It's pure emotion and he makes the guitar cry. Its stunning ! When a person becomes one with his instrument !
Same for me. He doesn't look too well though and his singing is kinda weak here. Maybe his lifestyle caught up with him. One of my idols and inspirations guitar- wise. Vetoaa tälläseen suomalaiseen jässikkään. RIP Gary Moore.

You nailed it Kel, I try not to compare, I take every song , every performance for what it is, but most importantly, for how it makes me feel, beauty is everywhere, you have only to look for it!
I've been a Gary Moore fan from the 1st time I ever heard him, but to watch Kelly's reaction and body language just made me know I made a great choice in my musical choices. Kelly your skill in Classical music gives the meaning of what you had to say so awesome. Thanks Kel n Rich for this great post.
It was Friday April 14 1989 and the venue was Scandinavium which is the biggest indoor arena in my city. On stage was Gary Moore and this song was the last encore he did!
I first became aware of Gary Moore when he was with Thin Lizzy. Another Irish (Gary Moore was from Northern Ireland, this person was from the Republic) guitar genius you might want to keep an eye open for is Rory Gallagher who died in 1995.
You are both very fortunate to have found each other ..I love the love and what you guys do...stay true to each other and to truth and beauty in the music ..God bless you both...for sharing the love vibe..
Wow! I have loved Parisienne Walkways for so many years. Nobody plays the blues like Gary Moore! Thank you for this. And Kelly. If you could make Pinkie sing like that ...........!!!!!
Hey Ritch-n=Kel, My name is Walter Gill from Topeka, Kansas and that is why I'm a huge fan of hard rock , prog rock/metal, metal & blues!! OMFG!!, There aren't any words and if that wasn't a love letter to Paris, France!? Well then, It should have been one!! That live version of that song speaks volumes to Gary Moore's amazing talent and to all his fans that still love and miss him very much!! But we still have the music to keep the memories of him alive!! FYI Gary Moore played with Skid Row and Not that band from the "80's and he also played with Thin Lizzy back in the "70's before he'd went solo in the "80's and he had done hard rock, some metal & blues before he had passed in 2911!! Love you both and hope that you have an amazing Memorial Day tomorrow and hope to hear from you soon!! Thanks & Stay Metal!! -
What a great performance by the Master of the Les Paul guitar. He is greatly missed by the music world. Thanks again Kel -Rich and your reaction. Brian.
I remember the fist time I heard Gary Moore in the early 80’s and the song was End of the World. I was hooked. Only saw him once live in a small club in San Francisco. Stood about 30 feet and watched him shred the guitar. Will never forget that concert. That was the last concert at that venue since it burned to the ground a day or so later. I said to myself that Garry burned it to the ground litterly. What a talent. Was always drawn to metal bands that had a little bit of a blues influane metal & a little blues is a great combination. That is why my all time favorite is Dave Meniketti. Many Y&T songs especially the solo’s have a blues influence. 45 years later he is still playing and saw them Last month. Still blown away every time I see Dave play. I think most of the listeners have never heard Dave Meniketti play, since they were never a huge band sales or air play. Would recommend listening to #Y&T Forever. This was the song that Rob Halford said was his favorite song many years ago and one of my all time favorites.
Gary Moore literally made me discover Blues with his shred-infused Blues playing. His approach to Blues opened up a whole new world to me. It also made me appreciate early Priest more, when they were more of a "Blues Metal" - even covering Peter Green's The Green Manalishi.
I've heard this song on so many recordings and he always did it amazing but this; this may be the best performance of Parisienne Walkways ever and I was completely unaware of the 2010 show. Wow. Love Gary. He was so under-rated and never the limelight like his contemporaries. From Thin Lizzy to his decades of solo work, he was a monster.
I have heard of him, but I never heard that song, but just like Rich said his guitar playing is amazing and moving. I'm glad I saw the video on your channel, I enjoy your reactions and I'll continue to watch. Thanks for what you guys do.
this is the best evidence we did lose one of the greats, but we are lucky to still have his legacy for future generations to be amazed and awestruck as we are now
Through the years I have asked the terrible question, who was the best ever, and I keep coming back to him. I can’t get away from him and I never will. Thank you Garry for helping me make up my mind. God love you.
"SO Underrated as a guitarist! Arguably the best blues guitarist! One of the best blues songs ever is... " Still got the blues! "Such feeling and emotion when he played!
Gary was an amazing guitarist! I first heard of him back when he had the G-Force band ('White Knuckles Rock n Roll'), then his solo 'Corridors of Power' LP, and then when he was in Thin Lizzy for their 'Black Rose' LP. Fantastic material of his for you to explore. Thanks for this one!!
Gary Moore was the man as far as I'm concerned. Had the privilege of seeing him twice and left both times in a sheer stupor at his playing. He was known as a Gibson Les Paul player but for me his best performance was at the Fender Anniversary Awards paying tribute to Jimi Hendrix playing Red House on a Fender. When he finished the performance the guitar was finished...he'd played it literally to death. There's always arguements over who's the best guitarist, I love SRV, Vai, Satriani, Malmsteen etc but for me Moore was the man for his tone and feeling imparted into his music. Thanks for the memories Gary, RIP. 😔 ua-cam.com/video/pvu7Y91xUKM/v-deo.html
Moore's 1959 Les Paul Standard guitar was famed for its distinctive out-of-phase sound attributed to a possible pickup repair, in which the magnet in the neck pickup had been flipped, causing the out-of-phase sound when combined with the bridge pickup. The guitar was originally owned by Peter Green (of Fleetwood Mac). Green sold the guitar to his younger friend Moore in 1974 for the price that Moore got from selling a Gibson SG, his main guitar at that time. Moore used the guitar extensively over the next 30-plus years, on hits such as "Parisienne Walkways", which was his best-known song. The guitar is now owned by Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett who purchased the guitar, a number of years after Moore had sold it, for an undisclosed amount (believed to be $3M).
Hi Rich And Kel, thank you for this video, first sorry for your loss, Gary Moore was a great musician, like several other guitarist's both past and present he took us into a world of sounds that not many people can achieve, sounds that touch our souls to such an extent that when your realy tuned into it ,it's a full brain and body experience , I guess what I'm trying to say is you either like it or you don't, I personally like all garry's stuff, at 70yrs old I'm still rocking on to this style of playing. Take care you two.Best Wishes.Stuart uk.

When I was a teen just starting to play guitar back in the early 80s a friend introduced me to Gary Moore...instantly was one of my favorite guitarists...instead of saying "I'll never be able to do THAT!!", I said "THAT is what I want to do!!!..." That is what Gary Moore means to me...
If I was to hear this without knowing it was Gary Moore playing I would of guessed him. It reminds me of his big hit. Still got the blues I think it's called.
I love that little touch, a few bars only, of Irish music creeping in towards the end. Sweet. A look back at his Irish roots. An early one: Over The Hills And Far Away, shows his Irish beginnings. And of course he was with Thin LIzzy for some time. Lovely reaction. Thank you. I admire you outlook. I have difficulty in coming to terms with having lost my old singing voice. I miss it. I still try but it's hard now and I will never be what I once was, but that's life. We have to live for today and move on.
I don't know how many times I've watched that. Great video work to see the band and audience completely in sync in the moment. Gary Moore: nobody could wring emotion from a guitar like he could, or ever will again.

Love the homage to Irish bagpipes at the end ! Amazing how near he was to his passing yet he was playing better and better. I get the feeling he knew and was giving us his all. God bless him.
I could swear to ya the bpm increases right as that chorus comes in. Can’t tell if Gary wanted it sped up or if he tried to cope and just play faster. To me it just feels very much faster at parts
I know I'm more than late to this particular party but my sincere condolences on your loss. Also, as someone who is fond of classical music as well as rock, folk and some jazz, welcome to the wider musical world Kel. Hope you enjoy your new discoveries.
BTW.... I know how heart wrenching it can be to lose a child. My youngest daughter was 36 years old when we lost her February this year. So sorry you had to go through that.
Garry never fails to stun me with his musical genius. He was actually left handed but taught himself to play right handed, a feat in itself. R.I.P Garry and thank you. 🎵

Love Gary. You really feel his playing.. all that emotion he put in his music. Btw I requested this awesome song too as a birthday present for my father two months ago. Only different live version.
That guitar litterally cries ... RIP Gary Moore . Gone but never will be forgotten ...

BTW.... I know how heart wrenching it can be to lose a child. My youngest daughter was 36 years old when we lost her February this year. So sorry you had to go through that.
Awesome guys. Thanks for doing that. Now do The Messiah Will Come Again and Still Got The Blues. 🤘🎸
Brian Conlon I double that request, not only by Garry but also by the original Roy Buchanan who did it first 🎸
Garry never fails to stun me with his musical genius. He was actually left handed but taught himself to play right handed, a feat in itself. R.I.P Garry and thank you. 🎵
My Guitar Teacher turned me on to Gary Moore ..Specifically the Album Corridores of Power..

One of the mightiest guitarists who ever, ever lived. Gary Moore had enough soul and feeling for fifty guitarists...
10 years gone on the 6th February. RIP Gary. The best ever !
Amazing
Thanks Gary
One of the finest guitarist to walk the earth. Dearly missed
A Beautiful Song combining both tender & blistering Guitar work. His post Thin Lizzy solo career flew under the radar in America. His Blues Alive Album is perfection. GM=A Great Talented Artist.
Love Gary. You really feel his playing.. all that emotion he put in his music.
Btw I requested this awesome song too as a birthday present for my father two months ago. Only different live version.
I haven't even started the vid and I am smiling, knowing what reaction is coming ha ha, proper tune :)
