    ABOUT:🔻
Robert William Gary Moore (4 April 1952 - 6 February 2011) was a Northern Irish musician. Over the course of his career he played in various groups and performed a range of music including blues, blues rock, hard rock, heavy metal, and jazz fusion.
Influenced by Peter Green and Eric Clapton, Moore began his career in the late 1960s when he joined Skid Row, with whom he released two albums. After Moore left the group he joined Thin Lizzy, featuring his former Skid Row bandmate and frequent collaborator Phil Lynott. Moore began his solo career in the 1970s and achieved major success with 1979's "Parisienne Walkways", which is considered his signature song. During the 1980s, Moore transitioned into playing hard rock and heavy metal with varying degrees of international success. In 1990, he returned to his roots with Still Got the Blues, which became the most successful album of his career. Moore continued to release new music throughout his later career, collaborating with other artists from time to time. Moore died on 6 February 2011 from a heart attack while on holiday in Spain.

    Parisienne Walkways
    Gary Moore
    I remember Paris in '49
    The Champs-Élysées
    Saint-Michel and old Beaujolais wine
And I recall that you were mine
    In those Parisienne days
    Looking back at the photographs
Those summer days spent outside corner cafés
Oh, I could write you paragraphs
    About my old Parisienne days

Nice reaction - one of my favourite guitarists. Also like his rock performances like 'Out in the fields' (with Phil Lynott) and 'Over the hills and far away'.

I stood and applauded at the end of your reaction, and I’ve seen the performance lots of times. Sheer virtuosity. Yes, he prolonged the solo for what seems like forever but soooooo tastefully and with beautiful improvisation he could still not have finished now and I wouldn’t be bored.

I don't listen to this much now.... i love it to bits but it makes me sad knowing that Gary died shortly afterwards.... I'll have lifelong memories of hearing him live in Ballyshannon all those years ago. Masterful.

An honest review of the greatest guitarist ever! Thanks!
If you love GM's work, you don't want to miss this one. As he does every piece he plays, he makes this masterpiece his own with all the klassical movements and entwining several other genres into the piece. Amazing!
“The Messiah Shall Come Again” Love, love, love this one live! Who else could do it live?? Who else would?? Notice GM’s intro; for it is totally new and innovative to this great song, which has What ought to be the greatest Subject on humanity’s mind: The Master’s Parousia! ua-cam.com/video/7k07j7LcLqw/v-deo.html

I don't understand when people can tell these great artist's are not in good health but people ignore it and just want to be entertained. Why didn't his friends/family step in to get him some help with his health ? He died a year after this performance ? What a waste of talent.

THE GREATEST guitarist to have ever lived ! And yeah, unfortunately Gary wasn't in the best of health here,as a year later he passed away, but his talent was not diminished by it here. Why he is never ranked in the top 10 guitarists beggars belief - Fook me ! He could shred any one of them (including my other 2 faves Duane Allman and Derek Trucks from The Allman Brothers Band). There may be other guitarists out there who could shred, but not with Gary's sense of placement. This man knew a thing about when to do his magic, and not just shred for the sake of it.

You noted the sweating - this will happen when a musician concentrates very hard. It's not necessarily a sign of a health problem.

Gary got his break through/recognition when he played hardrock during the '80s. This song he co-wrote with his buddy Phil Lynott known as leader and founder of rock band Thin Lizzy and recorded in 1978. Before his After the War in 1989 Gary announced it would be the last time he played hardrock. From 1990 it would only be blues he would play, at least that what he said! Turned out he couldn't keep that promise after all! Anyway this song he actually did throughout his whole career. This version is a little more bluesy comparing to how he did it during the hardrock days. He's gone but not forgotten.
