Just imagine that if the audience hadn't demanded more then this absolutely brilliant guitar playing would not have been captured. Oh and by the way, that is in fact Andy Pyle on bass! 😊😎🎸
The best thing about this song is that the guitar is telling a story. She speaks, screams, cries and in the end she dies. And I think there's no one better in the world to do that on a guitar than Gary Moore. Not only in this song, but also the Prophet is another display of feeling and many other solos that he has in his career.

This is my first time really focusing on Moore’s technique and feel. Holy shit. Jeff Beck is always spoken of with awe for his chops, but I don’t think he has anything over Moore after having watched this. This is the technical chops of Beck, or Satrioni, with the passion and soul of Vai or Santana, or Page or Gilmore. I am blown away!
One of Garys best live performance. So sad, that he is gone. So glad, that i saw him live several times here in germany. Hope we see some more reaction from his mastery playing?
Gary wasn't my first influence, but he was my biggest one as a (semi-pro!) guitar. He had a huge amount of soul. He influenced me with his passion and his tone - however his technique was beyond me. A truly iconic performance. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. Note the great Don Airey on keyboards, who is now Jon Lord's replacement in Deep Purple. Yes, I believe the guitar in the video is 'Greeny', the Les Paul that used to be owned by Peter Green. Gary sadly had to sell it when he was down on his luck. It's now in the hands of Kirk Hammett of Metallica. Gary is a great loss. I've also covered 'The Bluest Blues'... Oh yes, and I love Life of Brian, too! "She has a wife, you know..."
It's amazing that all the players you featured on your guitar hero give the guitar a life of it's own. they play with a purpose where their goes is the music not about themselves.
The guitar in this video is indeed greeny and now owned by Kirk Hammett. And Gary always used to say because of the wider neck, it ain’t the easiest Les Paul to play. So if you take that into account, it makes this performance even more special
