Crossfader brother how much for that controller?
I just pre ordered the SRT version. After seeing digital dj tips review I am waying my options between Serato & Recordbox. Please help?
@@DJMANICO1 Use Rekordbox
DJMANICO1 Serato
Good luck to all
For those mentioning the fingerprints, here's what I've learned. Open up your laptop and turn it on, turn on the controller, then immediately go wash your hands with Dawn dish detergent. Then don't touch anything until you get to your controller and then only touch the controller. It will lessen the fingerprints by about 75%.
Afterward, with a microfiber cloth, give it a quick wipe down, and it will be good as new every time.
I just ordered the srt1000 and have been looking at other video tutorials to see the features/changes in comparison to the SX2, which I currently am using.
YOUR video is hands down the BEST and MOST DETAILED explanation of the buttons and functionality of this controller.
Hats off to you for an EXCELLENT demo, I just subscribed to your channel.
Keep up the great work brother. 🔥👊
Thanks for the kind words!
And how is it after 2 years of use ? compared to Sx2 ? your opinion please
I thought, Pioneer would never release a Serato Version from DDJ 1000! But today is the day 🎉😍 Thank you Pioneer, that you don’t forget the Serato user 🙌
In reality, pioneer wanted to completely ditch Serato but because of high demand, they release this controller
surprise!
At first they were NOT in the mood to argue anything regarding Serato, because of their own RekordBox idea. But since the majority of their buyers prefer Serato over RekordBox, they sort of went overboard and managed to get a working Serato version for us all. Since I love Serato DJ over everything, I'm very pleased with this and now I have a goal to save up money again at a decent price. Of course I'm a super fan of Denon DJ's Prime series, but that's out of my league in the short run.
@@YouriHL barely anyone prefers serato over rekordbox anymore lmao literally 99% of dj's i know use rekordbox and thoroughly prefer it
@@joegrayston3779 Well, it depends then in what genre you are mixing. In my scene (techno, tech house etc) I know no one that prefers RekordBox. And I know a whole bunch of prof DJ's in the scene ;)
After almost 5 years with a DDJ-SX2, this is my next controller 🙌🏿I love everything about it
DJ Shem same! I've had the SX2 for a while since there wasn't any good reason to upgrade... Until this😍
@@MrMigz01 I am still using a DDJ SX2, because I don't want to lose the multi fx chain capability, and ribbon controller.
And how is it after years of use ? compared to Sx2 ? your opinion please
Great review @Crossfader 👍
Finally a version for Serato.
I tried the Rekordbox version, but the RB software sucked, so i returned it.
This is a great controller by far.
-Mike Beats
II'm a 44 year old vinyl dj. Been mixing since 93. When I switched to Serato about 13 years ago, I thought I had doors opening for me.. but the DDJ 1000 SRT really opens up the imagination. Two dudes can play the same set, and they come out totally different. Thank you for going thru the control surfaces. If not, I prolly wouldn't have purchased the DDJ 1000 SRT!!! Much props yo! It seemed like there was a lot going on at first, but there really isn't. It's all about the DJ! Thanks man!
How did you turn in your lights
We have Denon DJ and the In-Music Group (owners of Denon DJ, Numark, Rane DJ, Alto Professional, Akai etc) in general to thank for making Pioneer DJ release a Serato version of DDJ 1000 cause Denon DJ and In-Music Group has been in the news lately for releasing solid DJ gear so not to be left out Pioneer DJ needed to do something to win the hearts of DJs hence the release of the DDJ 1000 SRT. But I ain't complaining tho. Thank you Pioneer DJ, I will be purchasing one ASAP
That was a very good and fair Review of the Pioneer DDj 1000 SRT especially from a professional and a Serato Dj perspective. Pioneer and Serato working together again is fantastic news. Now I am waiting to see if they will add a Screen like the Denon prime 4 or similar to the Pioneer RX2 for Serato..
i did watching 10 plus videos about this controller but this one is the best full review and explanation about the features. thank you for help me understand about my next gear.
Deliberated long and hard over buying. I tried the FLX6 first and although cool.. was nothing on this. So many awesome features, excellent build quality and the Pitch'n Time keysync feature makes every mix sound perfect. Highly recommended if you have the cash.
If it had the serato effects buttons it would be perfect but you showing how to midi map those to commonly unused buttons made up for it 🙌🏿🙌🏿
My jaw literally dropped, just bought the SX3 but looks like I will be selling it now🥳
Same here!!! lol
Have you had any problems with it? I had two that were returned because of the recall.
I wouldnt, SX series has full control over Serato's fx and expansion packs. DDJ 1000 doesnt. And the platters feel waay better on the SX as well, albeit smaller, but better. And you have physical crossfader control on the SX as well. I cant see SX users switching to a DDJ 1000 and liking it better
T K that is a valid point, if you use FX a lot this may be a dealbreaker and not be the best controller for you. However the on board mixer FX are great and they’re post fader. I don’t overuse the FX to be honest so I can live with just using the standard on board ones. Im also used to not having control of them when im djing using the nexus 2000 setups in clubs. In my opinion the platters are better than the touch sensitive SX platters, the CDj platters gives you that real vinyl feeling with the jog wheel adjust which is a major selling point but that’s my humble opinion it is really down to which you prefer.
Same here 2 months ago 😩
Jamie, thank for the detailed review. I just picked up the 1000 SRT. It’s a fantastic controller, just a few things I wish were different. I’m using a PS1 (which I already owned) for better loop control and access to the Serato effects. I wish the Serato effects were post fader. I also wish it had a dedicated, external, front knob for the crossover curve. I tried dedicating a button but only a few knobs are eligible (eq, scroll, color effects etc). I wish the information on the jog wheels was selectable, wave forms, position of queues in the track and key would have been nice. Overall it’s a great controller, with a familiar feel. I’m going to sell the Nexus 2 setup (CDJ, DJM, DJS) which I used with Serato HID. Might as well get 70% of my purchase price today before Pioneer releases the Nexus 3, with pads and the value drops drastically.
Can you elaborate on the missing crossover curve functionality? How were you using that in a real world example?
@@dreamdaycharleston Scratching prefers a shorter curve.
I never had this problem with the pioneer DDJS1. I have just upgraded literally two days ago to the SRT controller before that I was using the pioneer DDJ as one had some good memories good mixes I did
Wonderful in-depth review and demo. Thank you for putting in the time to make this video, I understand how long it takes to put these together so I'm very appreciative. New sub! Thanks again.
Glad it was helpful and thanks for subscribing!
Really love this video and how you explained what everything does. You basically gave an intro DJ lesson! lol
You know everyone is about to sell their current controllers, and get this one.
This was an amazing review, thank you so much. I was having a lot of doubts about this controller but you pretty much put my mind at ease. Now to sell my SZ and break the piggy bank to get this one.
The amount of times my jaw dropped watching this is insane! Amazing review and never knew half of what I could do in Serato
No wave forms in the Jog Wheels, you can't access serato effects from this controller. No flip controls.
I prefer rekkordbox, you can use pad effects to use the effects of Rekordbox on the controller in edition to the hardware effects.
Yeah rekordbox pad fxs are so nice. Only thing i would want to go with serato is roland TR sync... Pioneer is so lazy they havent added toraiz sync for rekordbox or any other sampler link support.
If you want flip controls get the SX3.
@@damiensoto8735 Yes! Exactly.
@@mlrd6622 Yes, that is what I have. :-)
I literally just bought the DDJ-1000, and had to switch all my que points and playlist over to Rekordbox... :/ awesome.....
still within the warranty?
Hahaaha that should suck i also have it but i don’t mind using rekordbox
Same here. 😂 Just bought the ddj1000
Same here. 😂😂
+1 Daaaammmmmm
I am your biggest fan from India. Being following you since past few years. Your Tips have made DJing easy for me. The Videos which you make are just so helpful. Thank You so much Team Crossfader and Jamie Hartley. You have been doing a great job and amazing tutorial and product information videos.
I have been waiting for an SZ3 for like 3 years now and I'm starting to think it's not happening. Guess I'm going to have to fall back to this guy. The white and silver one is dirty.
Finally!! My only gripe is i wished they'd added in pad effects like in Rekordbox
Thank you so much for all the great reviews! I really like the jog wheels and the crossfader on this controller because I'd like to incorporate scratches to my mixes, but the fact that it doesn't have total kill EQ makes it difficult for me to chose between this one and the DDJ-SX3. Any recommendations?
I love serato and turntables but, this product is perfect for me, sometimes brings turntables is not a easy work lol, thanks a lot for you time and explaining, you are the best,
That is going to be my Christmas present to me I can't wait to have it
Fucking hell your family must be RICH
This is a really sick mixer and a really good presentation. Thank you.
This is awesome. Crossfader always ahead of the pack with their reviews!
I use 'Sync' to sort tracks I want to play later in my set into the 'Prepare' section.
This guy give you the full views of the controller 👌👌👌👌
Hi Xfader Gr8 breakdown ! I was under the assumption the two heavyweights of controllers was the Rev 7 & the Rane 4 due to their sublime features . But what i like about this controller is that it doesnt feature Stems which i believes draws too much power & memory from the CPU in the hardware of the laptop . If im wrong then id get the rane 4 . Im more about the effects & midi mapping effects in bundles . So could be a toss up between this Pioneer 1000Srt & the Rane 1. Cheers .
long wait is over...i finally got it..its back in stock...
I have a simple question, will there be a DDJ - 800SRT version?
Thanks in advance
If you only play indoors then the 800SRT would be good to wait for.
BUT IF YOU ALSO PLAY OUTDOORS:
The 1000's huge advantage compared to almost all of the other controllers even the 800, is that the jog wheels are PRESSURE Sensitive and not TOUCH sensitive. You can play in outdoor events and not worry about the heat/cold (temperature) distorting a song, because the jog wheels function to pressing on them instead of just touching them. Good luck, -MB
Just loved this new product from Pioneer. I wish to get hands on this Beauty soon. Your biggest fan from India.
It won't surprise me if this monster could make a fried egg sandwich but it can't make an omelet sandwich . A serious piece of machinery...thanks for the breakdown 👍
Thanks Jamie, awesome review ( possibly the best one on youtube) and a dream controller👍👍👍👍
I saw this just uploaded on serato and i was waiting for crossfader to review this lol
Thanks for the teaching class I now understand how to set up my controller
Fantastic overview. Thank you. If you map the Serato effects to the Pioneer SP1 are the Serato effects post fader?
Fantastic review. Now all I need is a Traktor version. Native Instruments is slipping on the availability of the S4Mk2 so may very well hang up Traktor all together.
I bought the srt1000 2 days ago I was using the flx-6 let me tell you this srt1000 is awesome af 🔥
Looks wicked Jamie, great video. I got the Pioneer SZ but this controller looks amazing.
I also have the SZ2 and weighing the options out.
I'm still looking for a comparison with the SZ to make up my mind. The only pro it now has are the hardware Pioneer fx's@@MrDJBigKing
@@LSSS82 I wouldn't be surprised if Pioneer drops sz3 with the similar look in the near future. Also, how much longer are they going to support the sz2?
Thank you so much finally I'm upgrading to DDJ 1000srt thanks for all the info I'm great 👍
That’s the DJ controller I’m considering next year
Thumbs up to pioneer dj thanks for bringing out a serato version i will be getting these controller
Great video. Seen someone comment that the phono preamps aren't good, they may have been referring to the Rekordbox variant. Any feedback on that?
Awesome review and very informative. I have been seeking a Serato upgrade from the SB3 and will likely source the above.
I bought an sx3 8 months ago, but I will definitely sell it and buy this one, great video thanks and very complete explanation
Dj Enzo Balsamo Have you noticed how cheap all the used SX3s are. Im in the same boat as you. I just bought the SX3 less than a year ago. I should have waited. Definitely going to lose money on the SX3 and that sucks. Good luck man!
@@JAMRADIONYC Exactly 8 months ago I bought my sx3, and I got a very good price, such a good price that I already sold my sx3 90 $ more than what I paid for it, and yesterday I placed an order for the ddj-1000 srt, and I'm super happyI didn't lose any money in my negotiation

I can’t wait to be on stock again to upgrade!!
Informative video! Quick question, does this model run with Rekordbox as well?
My friend and I have been brainstorming about livestreaming b2b sets with 2 laptops, but I use Serato (win10) on a Reloop Terminal Mix 8 and he uses a DDJ-1000 with Rekordbox (Macbook). I've been considering upgrading my controller for some time, yet would like to stick with Serato. Would you recommend this controller for that purpose or would one of us have to suck it up and just have to switch to the other software? The DDJ-1000SRT hardware is similarly based off of the DDJ-1000 right, so theoretically it could work with Rekordbox as well or am I wrong? Or is there a way that both of us can use our original hardware yet stream simultaneously, maybe using 2 audio interfaces?
I know that Pioneer released the DDJ-FLX6 which can do both software, but it's missing some features and connectivity.
Thanks!
Update: I just found out the SRT doesn't support dual software bleh
Just pre ordered mine today!
As always, very thorough review Jamie! Curious if there is a split cue option for headphones on this controller through SeratoDJ?
I hope the original ddj 1000 becomes compatible with serato too
Danny Sempai unfortunately it will never this Version is the nail in the coffin for the 1000 and serato
Finally, I got my 1000SRT. Great tutorial 👍🏼
Thanks!
All I can say is thank you pioneer 👍👏
Just got my DDJ1000SRT . Upgrading from Numark NS6 . Your perfect video tutorial help me greatly but still have a lot to learn . Can you please share a download link for your sampler.kind Regards.
I got one for my birthday today and this vid is very informative. Can you do one with tricks and tips?
I have the Recordbox version and for the longest I longed for a Serato version but After playing with the Prime 4, DDJ pales in comparison. I never thought I'd see the day I'd say that but Pioneer isn't the 'industry standard' it once was. Denon is taking over.
Soon you're gonna need a Masters Degree to operate One oF These.....
not rly im 15 and i understand everything 😭

I operated it the first day I bought it
@@efrengutierrz i bet that you didn't know You could use your controller to via internet and Bluetooth. To live gig to Anyone personal Vehicles. VPN....
It’s an advanced controller if you feel uncertain but a mixtrack pro 💀
YESSSSSSSS , Thank You Pioneer. Take My Money.
I like the jog display is much cleaner than the original DDJ-1000. btw, support its coming soon for VirtualDJ users too.
would you recommend upgrading from the DDJ-SZ to this? Can't seem to find a comparison. They should compare it at least with the DDJ SZ2 as this was the last flagship controller with Serato dj
For a home setup is it better to get the SRT or a mixer + turntables / cdj setup? I want something I can use to learn scratching and I was going to buy a mixer and cdjs but this is way cheaper
DDJ1000SRT iz Boss!!🔥 🔥 🔥 fire!!😎
Opinion: At home I use a CDJ 2000 NX2 & DJM 900 NX2 setup. I use this with Serato, I keep the setup to stay on practice with club setups. Do you think this is a close enough feel where I can sell the other items and just use this?
HERE TAKE MY MONEY!! 💰
Thank you very much for the fantastic, in-depth review. My only question is on the DJM 900 NX2, you can select which parameters the effects affect (low, mid, high). Meaning the echo will only affect the high frequency. Is that possible on here via the Serato or mixer settings?
there's no buttons for it on the mixer, so i'm giong to assume you can't
No you can’t do the same on here I’m afraid.
Virtual Dj is my favorite software.
virtuadj been had these features

I am a college student working hard to buy myself a Pioneer XDJ RX 2, but If I won this controller I could save alot of money 👌🏻
too bad you can only enter once...trash..we need multiple entries...
Very good in-depth review!
Thanks Jamie is good
But sorry just catching up with Denon prime now taking over and most of this I have on my mc 7000
Exactly, Pioneer release a bit of kit with features that have been on the market for 3yrs and they expect everyone to be excited. I have a mc7000 as well, and it wipes the floor with this. 32bit DAC, 4 Switchable effects groups per channel, Replaceable fader, Dual USB DJ capability, Adjustable platter sensitivity and so on.
@@dj_paultuk7052
Hi paul thanks for you support there as you say old kit revamped and we are expected to go hay that good must get but not for me as to denon now I think taking over in the clubs too but some here not think so but www.laidbackluke.com/
And tieasto are denon djs now too thanks andy
Hi ! I am asking why doesn't pioneer try turning jogs as native, numark etc... Do you think that we will see some DDJ or controller with spinning jogs? Cheers
never happening, but some brands are upgrading their turntables with bpm screen and performance pads
God no, Pioneer would of did it years ago if it mattered to them enough
Thanks for the review, I used it to make my mind cuz of this review👍🏼
Good job,
So so helpful, thanks Jamie.
Hello I have Serato DJPro I’m sure it will work fine with that? This is going to be a gift from my wife but I so totally sold on it. Can’t wait.
I think the DJ world needs a DDJ-800SRT to cater for Serato users, if Pioneer can produce the DDJ-1000SRT the software exists to use on the DDJ-800 and give a wider choice to Serato users, I have nothing against Rekordbox but I am used to Serato and want to stay with it but get the benefits of the on Jog displays and the full size tempo fader etc.
Since Pioneer is still making controllers for Serato, it will be nice to see Serato let Pioneer use the "flip" feature on Rekordbox. By the way no Serato flip option on this version of the controller, that is really bad.
A pair of Reloop Neons might be useful for Serato fx pad controls
Great review! Thanks!
If you guys haven't used Traktor pro you guys are missing out this is coming from a Serato 1 vinyl user and a current rekordbox user, Traktor pro takes the win no doubt
If I didn't already own Serato DJ Suite License and didn't already have a setup I love, this would be an investment for a controller that utilizes Serato.
with the license do you have to pay for an upgrade all the time
@@WazzyTV You do not pay all the time. It's a 1 time purchase for lifetime access for all Serato DJ upgrades Serato come out with.
Ns7 was one of the ones i know to be serato enabled with motorized wheels
Awsome one this time they released. So pretty one. I'm so crazy about this ❤️❤️❤️
These really awesome.. great job bro
Now it's time for ddj 1000 TRT (for TRAKTOR )...
fully agreed. Until that time my DDJ-1000 mapping is the solution

Yeeeeeeeessssssss!
Hello
First ,Thanks for every video you make for us.
I need some help
I bought this ddj 1000 serato from about 2 month , since I bought it I found a problem, There is a slow performance , The sound disturbs, for several seconds, and then the music returns , it's not from the laptop because it's new too and it's a good quality HP
Is there a solution, or it's a hardware problem ???
Thank you
Thank you for this! Great help! Well explained!
Sure it isn't a standalone all in one controller, but you can't beat this DDJ1000SRT for overall value if you want cdj/xdj style jogwheels as it isn't much more than buying 1 XDJ1000Mk2 which is Rekordbox only.
Hi Crossfader! I need some advice please. Between the Pioneer DDJ-1000SRT and the RaneTwelve/Rane72 which one should I buy? Considering I can afford both.
Best damn review so far 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
The BPM Auto feature should've been like the s9/72 original 1000. The tech is there and had been since the 900srt. Right now it tries to guess the BPM and the algorithm SUCKS. Why didn't they set it up from the start like the s9?
It's interesting to see they actually listened to everyone who uses their products and released the DDJ-1000SRT with Serato support BUT I think their previous idea was better. To not be dependent on another company and their software and just go fully independent and Rekordbox is actually great. I think they are awesome for listening to people's requests but they should have gone with their original idea and made everyone who feared Rekordbox, appreciate it once they realize how good it really is.
If you adjust the tempo manually on, for example, track one and then change to track three. Is the tempo from track three going to change? and continuing with the case, what if I go again into track one, do I have to adjust it again?
Cheers! and nice video.
No, the pitch faders stay independent unless you activate sync :)
Seen another review where the guy send it back, basically you can't layer the fx and changing loop length is very cumbersome.. I was nearly about to buy this for Serato but glad I didn't, maybe I should consider the RB version
I liked that's the year's musical instruments classes Turntables in the year's 2014 and 2015 when I graduated at private colleges having the job's . Worked at Oil's and Gas Industry's I willing to buying DDJ REV-7 , DDJ FLX10 , DDJ FLX6 , DDJ 1000srt and DDJ RANE ONE .
Great review! Thank you.
Man that awesome!!
