I bought the DDJ 1000 w Rekordbox a few months ago. It is the best controller I’ve ever used! Just an amazing piece of hardware. My fellow DJ’s who are Serato users.... you are gonna love this controller! I’m so happy Pioneer released the DDJ 1000 for Serato DJ’s! Bout time! BTW, I absolutely love Rekordbox, but I’m glad Serato users can finally buy this controller!

@@rubenregal4849 For thr FX it would work well, but you could use any midi device really, or even use the Serato Remote for iOS to control the FX in SDJ Pro.
@@Kutcorners I'm new to this. The 1000 srt with the sp1 won't have post faders with serato fx (I heard). The 1000 srt with serato remote will also not have post faders?

Pioneer reaaally want people to use Rekordbox, makes sense that they would price their Rekordbox controller cheaper so that people are more likely to buy that and use their own software. Sucks for Serato users

Someone made a great point on DJ City Mojaxx review on my comment regarding the jog wheel display and it had me think outside my box. Serato should really come out with a full screen display like the Denon Prime 4 with CDJ-2000NXS2 decks and DJM900 standard functions along with being Serato DJ Pro ready as a controller I think this would really raise eyebrows.

Do love my SRT. My only gripe is my jogwheels are very loose and some users units are very snug and tight. Bad quality control...me thinks so🤔

I actually owned the ddj1000 w/Rekordbox and i was.... excited with platters and all, just Rekordbox is not my Thing.... i prefers Serato version now.... Great video and i uses Turntables... my 1000 Pioneer decks, Which is my Thing... and i was innitally bias against This with just being..... Stupid at first...now .....Go Serato ddj-1000; i might copp ya.... Soon???👀😂😂😂😂⭐️💯👋🏽, Great video and good introduction brother......

Not the same. Looping, key shifting needs u to hold down the shift button + another to achieve the function, unlike the RB version. This unit requires a lil more effort, also there are no post effects... all for an extra hundred.
Roots N Culture wrong the hardware fx are post fader and you can easily midi map the loop buttons just like the SX, SZ models.

love the jogs - that's the main reason I'm thinking of buying it (I have the SX3). But VERY disappointed that there are no Flip buttons!! I use flips EVERYWHERE!! :( :( Can you map them to another button? And, if yes, will the button light up when Flip is engaged like it does on the SX3? Also very disappointed that there is no dedicated vinyl brake/stop knob!! :( :( It's on the Nexus CDJs so it SHOULD have been here too. Last, does anyone know if it will fit, specifically, in my DJC-SC5 Pioneer bag that all the DDJ-SX models do?

Cross fader adjustment? and can I midi the buttons to control Serato effects

I got my Pioneer DDJ-1000SRT today and was testing it out for the first time. I'm upgrading from a Vestax VCI - 400. The issue i have is that the JogWheels on my DDJ-1000SRT is not sensitive enough. Is there a way i can adjust the sensitivity? I see the adjust knob where i can adjust the tension but i can't find a control for the sensitivity of the Jog wheels

After 5,000 units does it still come with a serato dj suite license or something like that?
So I change the color of the track (red is explicit and green is clean versions) and in Serato the color of the deck in the software changes to that color. Does the color change on this controller as well?

Great Unboxing vid! Quick question: Can the Serato Suite voucher that comes with this controller be used for a Pioneer DDJ SB3? or does it only work for serato enabled hardware?
If the DDJ-1000srt unit you have purchased comes with the Serato Suite license, yes you can use your DDJ-SB3 with Serato DJ Pro :)
1. Does this unit feel "cheap" (faders, buttons, wheels etc) like another user said??
2. Does it have a vinyl brake speed knob? If not, can this be midi adjusted to another knob?
3. Are all knobs, sliders, buttons etc midi-mappable?
4. Do you think it would be possible to change the look of the jog displays in the future, via a firmware update? (They don't look as beautiful as the ddj-1000's do) And with a future update to add more info on the displays? Or is that a hardware-impossibility?
5. Having to find the shift button to press it, as you say, in order to half/double the loop size sound plain stupid. Do you think that a software/firmware update could fix this by eliminating the need to press the shift button??
6. Will SDJ selecting Quantize on SDJ apply to the looping buttons of this unit so that perfect beatgrid-loops are made (just like with any other DDJ-SX controller)?
7. It would be great if you could enlist all the main differences between this unit and its predecessors (the DDJ-SX3 and the DDJ-SZ2 so that all potential buyers could clearly see if the "upgrade" to this controller is necessary! :) :)
That’s a lot of words for UA-cam
1. The quality of this controller is as close to a pair of Pioneer CDJ's and Mixer that you'll find in our Pioneer supported controllers.
2. The vinyl brake speed and crossfader can be adjusted from within the Serato DJ Pro software.
3. Yes, they're all MIDI mappable.
4. This is a question better suited to Pioneer than Serato as they manufacture the hardware.
5. The shift button is featured on a number of different pieces of Serato compatible hardware, it isn't exclusive to the DDJ-1000SRT. I doubt that this is something that will be changed anytime soon as it allows for parameters to have multiple uses/modes of control.
6. This works the same way as other controllers. This function has less to do with the hardware you use and more to do with what your quantize value is set to in Serato DJ Pro, as well as your beatgrids.

Something I wanted to point out, is the cue buttons when pressed on each channel shares the same as the headphones. I’m other words, the headphones and the master output is not separated. I’ll turn up my headphones volume and it will come out as master. I’m using virtual DJ and I wonder if that is a glitch in virtual dj? Plus when I hook up to Serato, it does not recognize my DDJ 1000 SRT. Any tips would be appreciated. Also end users of the DDJ 1000 must download the driver for this controller or it will not work. Thanks in advance Matt. Other than that, this is a outstanding controller and I am happy I invested in this machinery!

Yay, Pioneer release a controller which has the same features as a 3yr old Denon mc7000. Actually the mc7000 does a fair bit more than this and costs less.

Also the Denon has a better soundcard, it amazes me that every time pioneer comes out with a new controller, everyone thinks it's a upgrade...If you read the description this controller has less features than the sz2 and the sx3, pioneer does this shit everytime..Denon and Roland have way better sound quality than any of the pioneer controllers.

@@selectaguru Yes the mc7000 and mcx8000 and all the later SC kit has a ESS 32bit DAC chip. Renowned for being one of the best in the world. Same as used by AudioQuest in their DAC products.

I don’t know what’s wrong or going on with my ddj1000srt one of my decks won’t get off of “thru”now my 1st deck not responding. it’s all stressing me out especially being so excited frm transitioning from ddj sb2 to these for it not to be working right
It sounds like you have the input setting of deck A set to 'Line', please change this to USB A or B. The input selector is at the very top of your controller above the 'Trim' dial. Thanks.
All hardware is the same but only 2 and 4 songs with diffrent mixers and controllers

Sure. You will need an RCA to 3.5mm cable and this will allow you to play sound from your phone via the DDJ-1000SRT

I would buy this tomorrow it it had fader curves on the hardware. Which I adjust as I preform all the time. I find it hard to believe it’s only on the software, poor decision by pioneer, design obviously a technician and not someone who DJs and used curve control in a live environment

You can do this in-app via the setup menu > mixer > crossfader curve (ensure your controller is connected before attempting these steps).

The bpm effects on the unit are sinc with the bpm from serato? Or the unit first have to listen and then shows the bpm?
You will need to use the 'tap' function in order to sync your FX with the playing track.

1. Ok, terrible that they've taken away the Stop Speed knob that is super-handy in the SZ2, but let's hope that you can midi-map the function to another knob (just like I have done on my SX3)...
2. I REALLY think that the SILVER Color Filter knobs on the SZ2 look waay better than the cheap-looking black ones do on the 1000SRT. :( :(
3. Where have the VERY useful Flip buttons gone?? (they exist on the SZ2, the SX2 and SX3 but I can't see them on the 1000SRT..)
4. Why are the EQ knobs not full-kill on the 1000SRT, just like they are on the 1000 and on ALL the other DDJ models???
Hi there, I have answered your questions below.
1. Stop can be mapped to another dial of your controller.
3. The DDJ-1000SRT is bringing together an all-in-one club setup controller, flip functionality doesn't exist on an actual club setup. Plus, space on the controller has already been used for pre-existing functions of a club setup.
4. The EQs are full kill and will stop output of each frequency range like other DDJ models have in the past.

3. Objection your Honor :P - times & requirements change. Flip was your idea. Embrace it, better it and YOU decide what an "actual club setup" should be like! :) Flip is very useful and should have been included in your hardware.

You will need to adjust the curve switch via the setup menu in the software.
No it doenst but u can midi map it to one of the channel 3 nobs. Check out my tutorial video
So pioneer builds a controller for rekordbox but then they allow serato users to use it but someone who has a rekord box controller cant use the serato dj software they already have 🤦🏾♂️

Hey, I heard the preamps on the original DDJ 1000 were terrible because they were meant for DVS, and not for real vinyl. Was this your experience when you played real vinyl through them?

The DDJ-1000 will not work with Serato DJ Pro, the DDJ-1000SRT is compatible with Pro

I own Ddj 1000 I was a previous user of Serato and I move to Rekordbox Just for Ddj 1000. To be honest this unit will not bring me back to Serato. What really would me bring back to Serato software is a full compatibility with ableton file warping import and so on. This Is a Hint to Serato Guys Just think out of the box and work on what Pioneer can't do for commercial reason... You tried with studio but honestly can't compete with any Daw at the moment

@@nickjones2731 actually i think that beatgrid modification is much more simple in serato rather than Rekordbox, and sometimes i get stuck with BPM, I Can't put the BPM in correct number here is the "bug" wich Pioner confirmed is not a Bug but a different engine way of calculating and modify BPM

(BTW. The width of the 1000 srt is 4.4 cm wider than the sx2/sx3 units that the djc-sc5 soft bag was made for; and the heights and depths of both ddj units are approx the same - but maybe IN REAL-LIFE the 1000srt WILL fit in the djc-sc5 soft bag?)
(I want to see if I'll have to buy another bag too if i buy the 1000 srt - or if I can use the one I have) ;)

They're not hard plastic, they're a bouncy rubber that gives you a lot more feedback when hitting them

No Artwork! Display on jog wheel screen lacks in vital information that the Rekordbox version already had. That's part of what we were expecting to receive when a Serato version of DDJ-1000 is released. An indirect example I'm talking about is, for instance the pads on this DDJ-1000SRT displays exactly what your computer would display with cue points illuminated, activated and color coordinated so you don't need to second guess and look at your computer for that information. The same should've of been done for each jog wheel center display where track Artwork or switching to text display for those who want to utilizing the controller functions with minimal computer button pushing and screen searching. I'm a visual selector so I pick songs from my library like picking up sleeves in a vinyl crate or CD case, all my tracks have artwork and I find it much easier & faster for myself to feel and pick the track to play just by looking at it like we used to. Call it bad habits but I'm sticking with my Serato DVS and glancing at the computer in crates for track selecting and needle dropping to cue points and mixing it all up with my creative taste on a DJM900. Maybe next time Serato & Pioneer will figure it out or maybe a firmware update fix...

Denon needs to quit using cheap ass plastic buttons. I had a MC7000. Sold it!!! The play/Que buttons were falling in. Very disappointed in Denon.

There are onboard Pioneer FX and with some MIDI mapping you can use the Serato DJ Pro FX as well.
The fx do work they just aren’t software based they are Pioneer’s industry standard fx which is better to have as software fx use cpu.
