A2J I'm a 43 year old vinyl Dj and just recently bought the regular ddj 1000 and love it! It's really weird to get used to using a laptop and there is soooooo much shyte you can do with it. I would say go with the rekordbox version though, it has a lot more options and way more effects
@@patmygroin I thought about getting the rekordbox version when it came out and I played around with rekordbox dvs in general and honestly I just dont like the feel of it. I like traktor, I use serato, but rekordbox just isnt up to what I want it to be. A2J well this is my first time ever even spinning on anything other than vinyl. But with that said, either program, this piece of gear is GREAT! I personally don't use all the effects and options all that much.
I’m waiting for a Pioneer controller that combines these jog wheels with the mixer layout and effects paddles of the S9. That would be the ultimate hybrid.
I disagree, the SX3/SZ2 reign Kings of Serato. They had superior jogwheels and have full access to Serato effects, the SX3 is a better controller for less money. It's all subjective though I suppose.

Pioneer need to produce a DDJ-800SRT version for Serato users, if they see it worth having a 1000SRT model surely an 800SRT version would be easy with the software already sorted for the 1000SRT I have nothing against Rekordbox but as a long term Serato user and in no way needing a 4 channel controller an DDJ-8800SRT would seem a logical step, I would buy it as soon as one came out !!!!!
I have a DDJ-SX2 and still love it to this day, and just copped a XDJ-RX2, but if I was in the market to get a controller, this would be the first on my list! Almost got it but went with the XDJ so I can get use to the Rekordbox ecosystem.
I heard people complaining on the sound quality of the ddj 1000 compared with the DJM 900 nexus or Xone 92. I was wondering if anyone has this controller and knows how to improve the sound quality probably adding something external. Not sure if its posible but I love to know since I order mine yesterday. it would be nice to be able to go to a club and have machines that are compatible with all the major platforms or at least a two and maybe vdj because their software seems to work with everything.
At the moment that does apply if the club has ponied up for the full PIoneer DJ NXS2 rig. Serato, Traktor, VDJ all fully supported in HID mode (as long as you own Serato Club Kit).
I'm mad they put the shift button in the correct spot on the SRT and not on the regular 1000. For some reason they made the memory cue button a rectangle and the shift button circular on the rekordbox version.
Nice board but I’m still happy using my SX2 it would be nice to have on board FX but I would end using the same FX anyway like I did when pioneer 1st came out with the 900 series 3-5 fx is all I ever used. Cheers

Strange how Pioneer holds on to their 1995 style of looping. A simple push encoder is way more intuitive + faster to use and takes up less controller real estate. Also, it could double up as a loop move control on a shift layer. I wonder how long it's gonna take 'em to abandon that. Like if you want that push encoder, too :)
Bro u can actually dial in the BPM for beat fx by pressing SHIFT and then the RIGHT Beat fx button. But you have to tap or set it to auto by pressing SHIFT and then the LEFT beat fx button.
By ‘dial it in’ I mean by holding Tap and turning the Time knob like you can on a 900NXS2 and other hardware. That takes you up or down 1 bpm at a time. You can even hold a second button with it and dial in to a tenth of a bpm. No time knob means tap or auto are the only options on the 1000SRT.
As usual your review is perfect. I have to say that on the DDJ-1000SRT the classic Pioneer Delay effect is missing and for me this is a small bad point on it Ciao Matteo
