That's the most important thing to understand about Narcissists: they assume that everyone is having the same experience of life that they are! Therefore, if you are kind and generous (for example) they assume you must be bat-shit crazy but since that makes it easy for them to get what they want, they shrug their shoulders and say "Your loss is my gain." Zero empathy will make a person into a predator.

@NopeNotTodaySatan Imagine how devastated they'd be if they could have our life experience for 1 minute, and then go back to their usual experience?

They love negative feedback, that confirms to them that they have total control of your emtional state of being. It's the taste of blood to an energy vampire.

"It is not worth it to sit there and get in a screaming match with a narcissist. First of all, if you are raising your voice, elevating, fighting aggressively, you’ve already lost. The narcissist wants you to scream and yell and cry over them. They live in a world where they can’t trust the kind gestures of others. They are constantly trying to get something out of everyone they meet, and they assume that everybody is trying to manipulate them in that same way."
"When you come to them and say, “I got you a little gift from the store,” or “You know, I just really care about you,” they think to themselves, “What are they trying to manipulate me into doing?” because they’re constantly manipulating others into doing their bidding. So when you have a person like that, the only way they can tell that they matter is if you are screaming and freaking out and crying. This is the one time the narcissist can visibly see that they have total control over your emotions, and they will poke you and poke you to try to get a bigger reaction from you. It is sadistic, and it is how they are hardwired."
"And so when they are starting to really get at you, and they can see it, and you try to leave the room, this is why they block you in that room because they’re waiting for the show to start where you’re going to start screaming, yelling, telling them all the things you’ve been bottling up. This is very devastating for you and very entertaining for a narcissist. They are not interested in stable, healthy relationships; that bores them to tears. And then they gaslight you into thinking you’re the dramatic one, you’re the abuser, you’re the narcissist when you’re actually just reacting to all the abuse, which is why it’s called reactive abuse."
"So a narcissist will blame you for reacting to their atrocious behavior and then throw the abuser or the narcissist label in your face so that they don’t have to take any accountability for how horribly they’ve treated you. Once you understand all of this and grasp it fully and have radical acceptance that this person wants to get an emotional rise out of you, then you’re no longer tricked into the baits for drama and for fighting because you know what this person is trying to do. Once you see this stuff, you can’t unsee it. It is best to get out of there and go no contact."
"Big news about my book on Amazon, “Navigating Narcissist,” it’s now available in audiobook form so that you can listen to it when you drive or do chores and educate yourself. The link to that is in my bio."

OMG these people are just diabolical. They’re absolutely disgusting & vile. Normal people DO NOT behave that way. The life changing pain they intentionally inflict upon others is horrific. It’s mind boggling & heartbreaking ❤️‍🩹
