I appreciated watching you unbox everything and check the fluid levels. I'm wondering how often it runs dry too. I just picked up the splitter today and have it on my trailer in the box under a tarp. I feel more confident using it on the larger pieces i have after watching you split those bigger pieces and the ones with the knots.

I'm glad you found it helpful. I have used it about 2 years now and the fluid level is still good. I don't use it very often. Much like a transmission in a car, since its the same fluid, I would think if there isn't a leak the level shouldn't change.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I saw a critter on the lower right side of the screen in the first 30 seconds. Maybe a squirrel you are sharing space with.

That is a chipmunk. He lives behind the house. Whenever I am outside or in the garage he comes to see me. He will eat out of your hand. At 5:03 he comes back and I give him some food if you want to see him up close.

You have the most indepth video on these log splitters. I chop split most everything . But sick doing knotted logs . How did it do on really knotty stuff, and y- branch logs? If i should get this 9 ton electric at $420 or bite bullet get a gas 20 ton at $800.

Thank You, I don't have much hard wood on the property. I did split some pine that was Y or had large knots. It handled it ok but a few pieces were too tough. I would say if you think that you will have lots of knots or tough wood, go for gas. You will be disappointed with electric.
      Thanks again.

Do you have a clip on how to check oil level and its operation?
