I have to say after seeing what you are wanting to split...the size, etc, that my 5 ton electric Harbor Freight electric splitter would be entirely adequate to run through your wood, but you bought a 9 ton splitter, bully for you. My HP splitter is 15 years old and still runs as great as it did when I first bought it!

lol you are probably right, I bet it would do 99% of the logs I split, I'm not doing anything crazy here, or any large volume, I guess maybe I was being a bit of a bully here, I just wanted the extra power just because lol, that's amazing that yours has lasted so long!! That is actually very encouraging as I wasn't sure what to expect for life expectancy for one of these electric splitters, I hope mine lasts as long as yours!!

Build yourself a little table to bolt the splitter down and work at a comfortable height. Don’t forget the safety gear.

How do you bleed the hydraulic system when you first get it?

This comes ready to use right out of the box, minimal setup, just put the wheels on is all, it comes full of hydraulic fluid, you just have to make sure you open the air valve before you do use it, and then close it back again when done.

Suggest, even out the box, check the hydraulic fluid level.
Other manufacturers say to bleed air from system, open little bleed screw, then proceed to operate the ram, no log, to full extent. Hold for a couple of seconds on overload, release, return to start, repeat a few times. If air is in the system, the ram may judder & make whooshing noises as it travels. When fully primed, the sound will be consistent till overload relief valve opens.
Most use SAE 22 hydraulic fluid. If going to be used in very low temperature, at below freezing, drain SAE 22 and replace with ATF. Keep safe, enjoy working your tool.

Lots of Pros and Cons to weigh out either way, the price of gas vs electricity is a small comparison really, Yes, I think the amount of gas used vs electricity used would be a little cheaper, but, a cheap Gas Powered Log Splitter is going to cost $1,000 or more, and doesn't even come with any gas or oil or hydraulic fluid, I can't even find a used one for less than $750 in good shape in my area, I found this one for under $500 brand new and came with everything needed, was ready to use right out of the box, it only takes 110 for electricity, we'll see how much my first electricity bill is going to be, I've used this one a lot already as my wood pile was building up, so I had quite a bit of wood to split, but I was able to split everything in just a couple of hours which saved me lots of time and wear and tear on the body as well!! Thanks for the comment and for watching!!!

One hand operation doesn't work because you even said it, "Need two hands to pry them apart." The thing is too low to the ground to use. You can't sit down and get anything done. Thanks for the video. I won't be buying one of these things.

Thanks for the comment!!! Which Log Splitter are you looking at getting? I checked out several different ones, it was really hard to make a decision actually!!! lol

I guess you're looking for a splitter that takes zero hands.

Or maybe if you had 3 hands??? :-)
