I’ve never seen anyone test a log splitter by splitting a rock I about fell out of my chair laughing but man that one half almost got your buddy. Your a nut Stan enjoyed the video. 👍
Firstly, it's been awhile since I have been able to watch your videos so interesting face wool going on. Now just a suggestion if you're storing this unit outside, consider putting wrapping on the hoses, UV light and rubber are not conducive to a long life and at the cost of replacing is something to consider. Thanks for taking the time to share.
I saw the same thing..someone is lying..the store manager didn't seem like he knew what he was talking about..not getting the price right is unacceptable
i have a huskee 22 ton i've been crakin with it for at least 10 years now. it is a vert horiz the one biggest issue i have is the trash build up between the splitter head and cylinder face. Thanks for the rock splittin tutorial lol
Kinetic splitters are amazing if you have consistent, fairly straight wood and don't try to feed them larger diameter rounds. Where they really start to suffer is when the wood is tangled, tough, or irregular. Need to have fairly regular face cuts as well, angles can try and force the blade off path, against it's stops. Eventually it's blade gets sloppy and you bend the drive rod. If I go old school for the comparison, think of a kinetic splitter like a splitting axe versus the hydraulic which is more akin to the maul. If you could blast through it with the splitting axe, so would the kinetic. If you're thinking it would take a few thumps with the splitting maul, you'd probably want the hydraulic splitter.
Nice splitter! Ive got the same one in a countyline version. If you get tired of chips loading up in the rail, i put it up vertically, grabbed a big round of wood, sat it by the hydraulic lever, added a cushion on top the round to sit on, and it was the easiest day splitting! And you dont have to lift big heavy rounds!
I bought this exact Log Splitter a few years ago, and it still works Amazing. If there was any cons the table on the side could be a little most heavier duty.
It's made by Speeco. They make a lot of stuff and put other company's names on it... Troy-Bilt, Cub Cadet, County Line, Northern Tool, etc... I bought a 22-ton Huskee from Tractor Supply several years ago that was made by them. A decent unit that has served me well so far. Kinda wish they'd built them with the wedge at the end and the push plate at the cylinder. About my only complaint. They make a 37-ton that has the log lifter attached, in case anyone is interested. My lifting is done with a bucket loader. Someone had previously mentioned elm. That was the only wood that was able to stop my splitter dead in it's tracks.
i have a 22 ton husky and 37 ton country line , bolth awsome splitters husky 10 years old , country line is about 2 years old . nice thing about the country line is half throttle all day long till you get into 2ft diameter logs then you need full throttle ,husky has split hundreds of cords of wood . i sell probly 40 facecords a year and for last 8 years husky needed a couple welds and carb kept outside its whole life in nys winters
I have a 28ton that's basically the same. After a couple seasons with it here's my 2 cents: Get one with a push plate that pushes the wood THROUGH the blade, as opposed to this style that has the blade pushing through the wood. And get one with optional 4, 6, or more blades. And an outfeed table. And possibly a lift arm/working table. Or, looking at that pile of woods behind you, just invest in a "cheap" firewood processor. Something that can just draw up the long trunks, cut at the point of the splitter, split, outfeed, and convey to an IBC tote! But, they aren't cheap, but neither is my time. Love your content!
I remember the race with the son in law and Frankie. I don’t remember you talking in depth about the kinetic log splitter though so I would enjoy that video
The same company makes all the log splitters for all the big box stores. I have a county line 40 ton same thing except for the 14 hp Kohler motor and I did get be for your tires with that. I love it it’s quick and I got county lines, four-way wedge, which I love because it’s not a permanent item. I can remove it when I don’t need it and add it back on when I do need it and I’m just a homeowner splitting firewood for myself not a professional nice video I was a little sad seeing the rock getting split
Sir, I’m glad I found your content, im starting in my first season of snow removal but so far I can’t find any equipment cheap enough to purchase. I’m out of ways to raise funds for just a truck. I’m building a brine sprayer but a father of four and married takes most of my income from the ambulance, any tips on where I can buy a cheap rig? Or any help out there I can find?
I have the Dirty Hands 22 ton made just like that and they went out of business. You could get a 4 way blade and really go for it. Craftsman 32 ton is no longer sold at my Lowes store, discontinued.
Would love to see a video on a kinetic splitter. I'm currently looking to upgrade my old 22tn Husky with a kinetic splitter but am a little leery. Thanks for the informative videos!
22 ton husky is a nice splitter if it has the honda engine . the only issue in 10 years and hundred or so cords is the welds at the splitter base cracked . kinetic is faster but cant split massive stuff ,
You can chain it vertical to a stump to help break the stump ! Peice by Peice little at a time it works try it out.👌🏻👍don't forget to make small notches for tour chain for vertical grip!
Hey hey Stan, hope all is well, I’m in my second year of college now, time sure does fly by. Hey Stan, idk if you got the email I sent you, but I sent you an email that had a link to the local newspaper I was in, it was pretty cool. Anyways Stan, keep all the videos coming, they are all great. God bless and go get em, your pal and friend Alexander costa
Nice splitter! Be careful though, I did something similar with a rock and got a chunk lodged in my left eye. Had it removed in the ER but I couldn’t see out of it for almost 2 months. Would hate to see you guys get hurt
After the thirty days where do you bring it to get fixed if something breaks in the warranty. In the north east all of the sears locations are long gone!🤔
Looks stout, but I’d weld addition onto base and lay down a few “gripper” passes to keep but from slipping out. Some of the old red oak rounds I’ve been getting into are close to 48” at the base, around 28” lengths is what we burn. Usually noodle into halves first then manhandle if able. Nice machine tho
Always in the 20 ton range, this thing looks fast. There was never a log I could not split with a lower tonnage or HP. Just took a for more seconds. I use to cut a lot of wood, like 30 cord a year. Best workout ever skip the gym an cut wood for 4 weekends total of 8 days and you will see. Pick it up, cut it, throw it, load it, unload it, and stack it. Then you need to carry it into the house.. Done cutting wood. Pellets baby. Until I broke my arm picking a bag of pellets up. Still on pellets.
Lol, guy dropped the log splitter onto the truck trailer twice with coupler down / closed position.....probably nervous, or never towed before. In his job, can't imagine it is 2nd nature thing, but made me cringe both times -- Even my guys who help tow our equipment around, still do this often & get confused when it won't lock into place.....lol The logs you were splitting were small. Even your biggest one. Then, out of no where you grabbed a big ol' rock, lol -- jesus. Thanks for the videos brother!
There is actually one I saw from Buckin Bill Ray Smith that is a kinetic log splitter called the GRIPO that has a 3 sec cycle time so a little faster of a ram. You should check it out.
Alright... let me give my 2 cents. I have a wood furnace and burn about 8 to 10 cords year. I live in New England with ash, oak, maple,... and some stuff I cant identify..lol. If I cut it down it gets split. \ I dont do it commercially and if you do that is a whole other ball game. I have found guys get crazy on "bigger is better". Guys who do 4 cords a year feel they need something huge. Bigger is not always better. There are very few pieces of wood I cant split with my little 8 ton troy-bilt unit. If I cant split it I just throw it away and move on and I just split 3 ash trees this weekend with only 2 or 3 pieces that I did not split. Honestly I probably7 could have split them if I dicked around but its just not worth the time. Its easy to move around, quick, about 18" off the ground and as the stack goes down I just move it closer... by hand. I can really make good time with it and I have used bigger units and dont save time. When Im done, I just wheel it into the corner of my shed. Unless your getting one with a hydraulic table, your going to bust your ass no matter how many tons it can push. Also, If your burning wood its probably because you like to save money. If your spending thousands on a splitter your not really saving money although some guys love to kid themselves into thinking they are. (80k pickup, 40k tractor, 2k, log splitter, 3k in chainsaws...etc.. and of corse the stuff is all spotless.... yeah, your saving nothing you just like to buy toys) we know the type.
That is quite a machine, heavy duty for sure and I am a Craftsmen fan. The only thing that I don't like is the splitting surface area and it was noticeable when your man was splitting. I would never but a splitter that didn't ride ON an I beam, he was constantly pushing debris out of it. Just going online Lowes does not carry the model you chose in stores. I am looking at one on Amazon that is 25 or 27 ton with a Kohler for $1400. Oh, and I am not a Lowes fan unless you are a wife looking for paint and wallpaper! 😁
I agree, Stan never buy. Anything that you're going to be using to it maximum every time you use it. Because it takes all, it's got to do what you need done. You're gonna wear it out far quicker. And that replacement cost is far more than just buying a more powerful machine to start out. That's the same reason I'm not a fan of 4 cylinder pickup trucks me personally, I don't even like a forced cylinder pick up. Yeah, you may have the power with a Turbo, but you're having to dream that thing every time you have a trailer behind it. Whereas if you had AV a, she's pulling that trailer with no effort. And you'd think that 4 cylinder is gonna last as long no way.
Just think that log splitter was 899 in 2019! Could have got one end of year clearance in 19 for 699! I waited thought about and by time I went back was gone.
Stanley how about putting a HALVERSON HWP the Dirt monkey testing, I hear these units are back savers and if you have a Skid Steer are the best thing since sliced bread at processing firewood and you don't have to buck up the logs into firewood lengths. Also i her this a an american made attachment for the Skid Steer.
I'd bet a paycheck that that's made by Speeco.. good splitters for "box store" purchase. I have a slightly smaller 28 ton just like it and it has given me excellent service. I looked, and the $1600 price doesn't seem to apply to us out here in the west.. $1600 gets us the 27 ton.
Nice spliter. The only thing she is missing is the hydraulic lift platform. Cant be without it. Saves the back and gives you more room to set your chunks for the next split
Somewhere in the fine print of the warranty..."Do not split rocks" Lol.
I like these types of videos, getting a lot of tool information. Like that when you bought that truck you pulled it home with, loved that video.
A rock, took it out, oh yeah
Cool beans love to hear it brother!
Wow, you split a rock ! Great video, I love how you test equipment. Great job !
AFTER I bought my cub zero turn from Home Depot, I learned its better to buy stuff like that from a DEALER.
I’ve never seen anyone test a log splitter by splitting a rock I about fell out of my chair laughing but man that one half almost got your buddy. Your a nut Stan enjoyed the video. 👍

Good advice
Lowes website advertises that splitter for 2399.00.
1600 is for the smaller one. This is only 11 days after this video was posted
False advertisement
I saw the same thing..someone is lying..the store manager didn't seem like he knew what he was talking about..not getting the price right is unacceptable
Dude. When he said $1600, I think I wet myself.
i have a huskee 22 ton i've been crakin with it for at least 10 years now. it is a vert horiz the one biggest issue i have is the trash build up between the splitter head and cylinder face. Thanks for the rock splittin tutorial lol
my father inlaw bought this last year after years of renting splitters. this unit is great havnt found anything it wont split yet.

Wow I just bought the 27 ton for virtually the same price you got yours. Works great after maybe 4 hours of use on oak, pine, black walnut and ash.
Nice splitter! Ive got the same one in a countyline version. Little more heavier duty. 👍
Leave it to Stan to test...and test....and push....and push...eventually splitting rocks instead of logs.....LMAO!!! Lovin the video Stan!

I don't wear safety glasses often but I cringed when you split that rock.

I live in Australia. I thought I could give you a log that could stall that splitter, then you split a rock! Well done.
Another awesome video, great job!
Much appreciated 🙌
That is one awesome wood splitter I never see anyone split a rock with a wood splitter WOW😮
Now you have 😈
You need the four way splitter attachment. Makes it way faster. Nice unit. Little slow on the recoil. But beats an axe
Always putting the equipment to the test Stan.👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Unfortunately, not on Lowes website for my location. So I went I Craftsman site and no 32 ton splitter. Only the 27 ton at same price point as this.
Looks like a nice splitter I'd add another wedge to make it a 4 way splitter.
Genius
I have the Dirty Hands 22 ton made just like that and they went out of business. You could get a 4 way blade and really go for it. Craftsman 32 ton is no longer sold at my Lowes store, discontinued.
thats the best log splitter i ever seen , u th man
Love the videos
I rented one of those last year and it split a cord of seasoned live oak without any hesitation.
Amazeballs
2399.00 at my Lowe’s delivery only. No store pickup. 1600 at yours in house. Wow..market adjustments I guess. I’m in Rhode Island
Would love to see a video on a kinetic splitter. I'm currently looking to upgrade my old 22tn Husky with a kinetic splitter but am a little leery. Thanks for the informative videos!

Why can’t I find this at Lowe’s in Minnesota? All I am seeing is 27 ton.
Luv tour reviews videos 😊
Ahhhhh...........Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, ..................Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh !
Awesome splitter....but his price is way of they are 2399$ was pumped when I saw this then tried to buy one was a little short on cash lol
One ROCKING video. Thanks 😮.
Haha true that 👍

You betcha!
@@Dirtmonkey it will work! I tried it out on a little splitter. I successfully did 2 ash! Stumps freshly cut about a week after they where fallen. 👍
Can't wait to see when Ego makes a splinter.
Hey hey Stan, hope all is well, I’m in my second year of college now, time sure does fly by. I’ll check out the email! Glad things are going good for ya man. God Bless 👍
Second year already! Wow time flies.
Wow. Nice one Stan. 👍👍🏴🏴
Trying to find this splitter for that price. Lowes is about $700 more than what you paid
U da MAN !!!
TOO GREAT !!
COMBO-Log-Rock splitter !!!
Nice splitter! Be careful though, I did something similar with a rock and got a chunk lodged in my left eye. Had it removed in the ER but I couldn’t see out of it for almost 2 months. Would hate to see you guys get hurt
Wow good to know and glad you’re alright!
How did you get that model for 1600 bucks, around here its 2400 in SC
After the thirty days where do you bring it to get fixed if something breaks in the warranty. In the north east all of the sears locations are long gone!🤔
It isn’t really a craftsman. It is a speeco
I got into a pinch a couple times and had to use my Splitter to bend ¾in steel plates to fix farm equipment. It did well as a break hehe😂
Always in the 20 ton range, this thing looks fast. There was never a log I could not split with a lower tonnage or HP. Just took a for more seconds. I use to cut a lot of wood, like 30 cord a year. Can’t argue there. You can definitely skip the gym membership and just go chop some wood for the winter instead 😅
Good to see you're wearing your safety squints
You know me 😉
Thats more of a craftsman sticker on that and thats it. Is what it is. Itll do its job.
A foot petal would be the cherry on top. Two hand control on log would be helpful
Split-fire hands down, splits both ways ram is moving
I saw Andrew Camarata or diesel creek have one that runs off of skid steer hydraulics, seemed to work fairly well. Yours is a beast!
That’s awesome 👌
It was diesel creek who had the skidsteer splitter, what a dumb design. I did not like that splitter one bit. It looked so frustrating to use!
Can you tow this craftsman log splitter on the highway with the smaller tires?
look at split-fire splitters....they rock
there are dealers here in MN
Go with an Eastonmade splitter Stan, you cant go wrong!!
Hit up c&c equipment. They sell a sweet skid steer attachment for processing firewood
Sounds pretty neat 👍
Lol, guy dropped the log splitter onto the truck trailer twice with coupler down / closed position.....probably nervous, or never towed before. That Lows employee deserves a raise.
Hisun Motors out of texas, looks like Axis is a Lowes exclusive only product
There is actually one I saw from Buckin Bill Ray Smith that is a kinetic log splitter called the GRIPO that has a 3 sec cycle time so a little faster of a ram. You should check it out.

I used to run an old called super split. It was so nice. So fast on smaller logs
Alright... let me give my 2 cents.

I would of wanted to know if you have a warranty repair where do you have to take , there service centers ,local or what .
Any chance that you could tell me the model number on that hydraulic valve. I've been trying to find details on the specific 1 that is used.
You should try a eastonmade splitter
Team Stanley, you are the man, bro.!
the test is a elm with a y in it that's stringy and tough
😂😂😂😂 CAN'T GO WRONG!!!😂😂😂
I just want to bring the Eastonmade 22-28 and split wood for a Saturday with the Dirt Monkey
Hahah yes
@@Dirtmonkey when we doing it🤷🏻

What happened to the bumper of the new truck 😢😢😮
I think speed co. builds all those. Mine is a county line from TS. Box store splitter.
How did that new dent happen on your new truck 🛻
Lowes sold you the oil required for operation with the log splitter?
Just think that log splitter was 899 in 2019! Could have got one end of year clearance in 19 for 699! I waited thought about and by time I went back was gone.
A new way to split concrete blocks for a retaining wall.
You got it 😂👌
When it comes to the tonnage it’s better to have it and not need it than it is to need it and wish you got it.
Such a slow return time.
Stanley how about putting a HALVERSON HWP the Dirt monkey testing, I hear these units are back savers and if you have a Skid Steer are the best thing since sliced bread at processing firewood and you don't have to buck up the logs into firewood lengths.

You can tow them just like that in the states with no license plate or lights?
Axis UTVs are made by HISUN Motors, who manufacture all of their products in Chongqing, China
Stanley your theme song has to be push it to the limit one more time
Nice splitter!
Sure is 👊
Same manufacturer as the tractor supply ones. But definitely a better warranty. Built in Ohio I believe.
They're made by YTL International and they come from China.
I can't find this particular log splitter on Lowes app
I'd bet a paycheck that that's made by Speeco.. good splitters for "box store" purchase. I have a slightly smaller 28 ton just like it and it has given me excellent service. I looked, and the $1600 price doesn't seem to apply to us out here in the west.. $1600 gets us the 27 ton.
YTL International actually makes them
Nice spliter. The only thing she is missing is the hydraulic lift platform. Cant be without it. Saves the back and gives you more room to set your chunks for the next split
Good call 👍
Like my 22-28 Eastonmade
If it goes vertical why would you need that?
Stan could do a review on the rugged made log splitters
Awesomesauce splitter, Stan. Would you be able to put a double cut head on the ram? That way, you split the log in 1/4ths instead of half.
Stan. Check out Easton Made log splitters you will be blown away by that power. I have the 12 22 box wedge splits 7 pcs in 1 push
Note to self, never let Dirt Monkey borrow equipment.
You are insane 😂😂!!
So they say
I heard bad things about those UTVs at Lowe’s
looked at Lowes and they only offer the 27 ton.
Ha. I thought you were kidding when you said you went to the rock pile.
Nope. Gotta put it through a proper dirt monkey test right
I feel like Casidy (sp) just got a log splitter
Meanwhile she’s up north chopping wood with a good ol ax to survive the winter haha. If she wants to use this she’ll have to come here
That’s a log splitter not a rock splitter Stan!! Haha never fail to entertain my man! Holy cow!
😂😈
If craftsman watches this they might void the warranty.
