Fun video. It's always good to upgrade a radio unit if it's basic.
6 years ago I put a Kenwood radio in my WJ. I ordered from Crutchfield, so I got the Posi Products connectors that slip over and screw onto the wires to keep them in place. Mine is a basic WJ with no steering wheel controls or factory amp. I stupidly stuffed the microphone wiring behind the HVAC vents and clipped the mic onto the vents, so I took the easy route. I also have Alpine front door speakers with the rest of the speakers being stock. I also used the cheaper dash kit because that's what they sent me free of charge with the radio. They do make a double DIN kit now, but it is more expensive and you have to modify the dash for it to fit. I got the satellite radio tuner kit as well so I have SiriusXM in my Jeep. When you DO install your new speakers, make sure you get the wiring adapters that plug into the factory harnesses, that way it just plugs and plays. The 6X9"'s in the front doors are difficult to find replacements for, but I paid $80 at Best Buy for the Alpine SPE-6090s, which sound great. I wouldn't have replaced the stock speakers in the front doors if they didn't become blown.

I have a limited 04, with the factory amp and steering wheel controls. I am trying to keep the factory amp working with the aftermarket radio. I can't seem to find the harness though, do you know anywhere I can find one or information about it?

Hello i have problem no sound
I have connected everything but I get no sound from the speakers can anyone help
Here's a question. I'm working with an avh series pioneer and I'm in need of a 5 volt power source for my Bluetooth menu option to be accessible. It turns out the parking brake sensor is only a 1.5 volt. Do you have a suggestion on how to remedy this? Long shot. I know, but I'm stumped. It's the last peice of the puzzle.

Budget friendly yes but will it sound good, probably not that great with any aftermarket speakers because it's pioneer but it would sound good on factory speakers, I would spend $100 on the head unit and get a Bluetooth kenwood, they have a whole ton of features and sound amazing.

Do you have ground hooked up? I assume yes since you have power. Can you double check all speaker wires match one another that are hooked up. Any blown fuses?

I still think a double din would of been better
Determined Veteran doesn’t fit. It’s like a 1.5 din. Super awkward to fit nicely. There is a lot of trimming inside that’s needed. Definitely was not a fun project to do. In my opinion. But it’s cool!
Too bad this is the last wj vid...... so many other cool mods and performance upgrades...... have fun with the shit stains! Lol just kidding.
