Yeah, I know about the pistol reservoir. It didn't hit me at first that I needed to put 2 magazines into the gun to use it. I figured it out shortly after this. =P

Litteraly irked me the entire time, I couldn't stop being pissed off about you only using half the capacity, ruined my viewer experience, I was gonna tell you in a not so nice way to reload but then I saw your comment

At first I found Alyx's new voice really jarring, but after hearing her performance at 37:43 when Eli is in trouble, I'm impressed by how well the actress captured that good old Alyx emotion.
It had to be said my dude, I was really impressed at that moment as well. I really miss Merle Dandridge as well but the new one did a great job as well.
my only theory with the voice actor change is to make Alyx sound younger. I dont know the full story though
@@SonicChaocc I think you're correct; from what I heard, the original voice actress recorded a lot of the dialogue before they made the decision to find a younger voice for Alyx.

Thank you for actually WALKING through this game and not hopping around like a total idiot. I swear, most the people streaming this game are just bouncing through the levels, as if they are completely ignorant that walking is a more immersive way to play this. Gives you a headache just watching.
Walking in VR can make some people nauseous. I agree it's more immersive but potential sickness is the reason Valve recommends Fade Mode
Jason Smith I cant walk in Vr, it makes me incredibly sick. I agree that people shouldn’t be rushing though, exploring the maps is way more fun.
and I also just love that the screen doesn't wobble so much and it's all smooth.

@@computer_dude no i think in some theory videos about portal it is said that this game and portal itself are linked, but i think we're dealing with black mesa here, it would be funny, black mesa is above ground and aperture science is under ground

Alyx had to of killed three maybe more Advisors because of that "accident" maybe that's why they in turn killed her father as a sort of revenge.
Yeah, she had no idea how big of a deal that was. As soon as I saw those dead Advisors, my heart sunk. That was bad.

You are not using the full ammunition capacity of the pistol, you have to put two magazines on it

I'm new to this channel but I have to say, you're the best Alyx playthrough I've found so far. You actually play tactically and smoothly without looking around abruptly like a crackhead.
Your walkthrough makes me laugh just by your movements and gestures. I was happy to see part 2! Been waiting since yesterday.
That 2xMagazine thing is the most counter-intuitive thing to anyone who has held a gun. Also nice reflexes when that barnacle grabbed the barrel.

I haven’t seen enough comments about the music here, but damn, that 27:16 part hits hard
My favorite part of HL:A is Alyx herself. In the past, Alyx either sounded like a machine reading off lines or came off as another witty action hero. In HL:A, Alyx seems more human. Seems like she's actually formulating her own thoughts. This of course could just be due to Russel, but I still have to applaud the voice actors and devs for their amazing work.
You're talking about Half-life 2? Alyx sounded quite normal to me like any other character in the game, also she was just a supporting character, not the main character.
Lad What are you talking about? The original voice actress for Alyx was phenomenal (Not implying the new one is bad, she does a fantastic job, too).
I think the difference between this Alex and the HL2 Alyx is here she’s a bit younger, quirkier, maybe a bit more naive than the Alyx we got in HL2. HL2 Alyx has been spending her life as a freedom fighter where VR Alyx seems to only be a few years into it.
Note: haven’t personally played HL2 but I have watched playthroughs, so I may be wrong about how Alyx is presented in that game.

this playthrough is probably the best playthrough I've seen of any game, ever. This is my third time watching it all the way through.
Thank you very much for those playthroughs, it's really great to be able to appreciate this game and live its story anyway, even without having had the opportunity to buy the VR.
Wait, can't you reload twice with that pistol upgrade, since the thingy on the side grabs the bullets from the magazine, am i completelly wrong?

I know, it drove me crazy the entire time I watched. @Harry101UK you need to load two mags to use the extended thing! It loads one in the extension and uses the second one before it uses the extension's capacity!

This game looks really fun. The gravity glove is a really cool idea for this game, graphics are spectacular and scavenging for items looks fun as well. This looks like the definitive VR game. The one that will inspire others and spawn many other great games.

Uncertain if it's me, but I'm fairly certain to reload the pistol with the reservoir, you'll need to feed it two clips. (One for the reservoir, one for the standard clip)

You know you can equip the hard hats, they protect you against the ceiling dangly thingies
The bullet reservoir basically adds a second magazine into your gun. When you put a new mag in, you're only filling it up halfway because the gun's capacity is doubled. When you reload, put another mag in aswell to actually fill the gun to its max.
