I love the sudden cuts to "...other...body parts." Harry knows, and he's judging everyone.
3:02 there you go 👌🏻
Ah, the internet, such a beautiful place
sfm is sfm
@@maurogarciasola969 thank you

Valve Products always have parts so good that the community puts up with the parts you wouldn't believe came out of an actual professional development team.
I have no idea what anything of this means but I like the looks of whatever is on screen
same
The lighting is much more impressive than before.
Great (?) to see that at least S2FM keeps having things accessible or fixable in a confusing way, just like the ol' SFM!
As someone who keeps dipping in and out of Source 2's filmmaker, I really appreciate these videos. Particularly excited about that 'porting internet/source files to source 2' video. The way I learned was quite slow, but with a quick enough workflow I'd probably, finally, take the plunge.
Wow, lots of helpful stuff in here! Those spline rigs in particular actually look really convenient, no more hand animating wires and cables!
I look forward to seeing some more tips and tricks in the future!
Super useful. Really looking forward to future episodes 👏
That clip showcasing parallax/displacement mapping in Source 2 makes me jelly as someone who converted to using Eevee in Blender whilst waiting for S2FM.
I don't plan on using sfm (1 or 2) anytime soon, but I do love learning how things work, and this was interesting from that viewpoint.
As a person who has no plan in ever working with source or 3D animation whatsoever, I can still confidently say I’m so concerning interested in everything this man does out of his sheer talent
every time I see your video, I want to switch to the s2fm engine :)
This was very helpful actully
Thank you
Thanks for uploading this! I’ve been considering someday going into SFM animation myself, and this could be helpful for when that time comes!
Finally, a tutorial from the god of animation himself.
Now, I've heard of sourcery BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS!
...i suddenly appreciate the hell sfm animators go through to bring us joy
Never thought i would get a video tutorial from Harry on how to use Source2 Engine but i love it!
Yeeesss! Thank you Harry for sharing your knowledge with us! I've been wanting to get into S2FM for a while but just couldn't get around understanding all the features. Excited for more tutorials to come!
This is a MASSIVE help, I can't thank you enough.
Nice voice. Very smooth, very narratory.
Great video, can't wait for more!
I did not expect new SFM to have so many cool features...
i don't even use source 2 filmmaker but this was entertaining to watch
"This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here;
Huge success!
It's hard to over-state
My satisfaction."
"Aperture Science,
We do what we must, because we can,
For the good of all of us,
Except the ones who are dead!"
"But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the science gets done and you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive..."
"I'm not even angry.
I'm being so, sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart and killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece, into, a fire.
As they burned, it hurt because, I was so happy for you!"
2:39 holy... ive been begging for something like this
WOW, the Xen Shader stuff comes with so many useful features I never dared to investigate (like parralax occlusion mapping)...
Definitely hoping to see something on the engine's cloth physics!
that is actually cool that there is an Comunity that is Truly trying to get some Great videos made in SFM. i give you full respect to what you do :)
Source 2 makes looks like SFM underwent a whole super saiyan transformation
omg I'm looking forward to these series ! Do you mind doing a video or two for total beginners ?
Holy crow that a lot of things
Thanks sure this stuff will help great work
This video might convince me to use s2fm again
What a sweet buttery voice doin the explaining. ^^
I don't use Source... at least not yet, and even I see how neat of a tutorial this is, since there seem to be many problems with the engine new users wouldn't know how to solve. Maybe I can use it some day in the future or just to have nice some knowledge.
I know everything similar to Source Filmmaker. I would love this video and something quite exciting.
very cool
Please continue making those portal songs I listen to them everyday
I didn't understand a single thing but still watched, Source2 is amazing.
*Grabs desk, chair, notepad, and pencil*
Alright. I'm ready to attend to the next sfm2 class.
Does your desk include a built-in voice recorder, camera, and rocket boosters?
@@aplimsollpunk2738 unfortunately no because Gabe is a greedy bastard who doesnt share until they mass produce it.
Every time you upload a video I get excited, because you rarely upload videos. :D
im 99.9999% sure i’ll never use sfm, both 1 and 2(or others if valve ever learns how to say 3), but by god is this interesting
major envy of ya’lls patience, learning and mastering stuff like this, i know my ADHD would never let me concentrate long enough for that
Amazing!
Awesome! 👍
Amazing, well beyond me. Last time I dabbled with this sort of thing was Hammer. It's funny to see that things still spawn at origin point.
Really appreciate this, I’ve been wanting to get into source 2 filmmaker but with no previous knowledge on source 1 filmmaker. And there is barely any tutorial sources out there at all.
52 seconds and I'm already excited to see what he's learnt because I don't no much
i love you forever, harry
Feel that will never forget his animations for some in explainable reason
Harry any news on like a official sfm2 release?
Finally! YEEEESSS!
Good tip: Use re shade to make such contrast inside the portal 2
This is so informative! How did you learn all of these tips and tricks? Trial and error?
This is super awesome. I'd like to ask, would you make a tutorial on how to install S2FM? I feel that would really help a lot of SFM users who may want to try out S2FM.
source 2 looks so good i think now might be my time to learn sfm
Just know that it isn't going to look as good as Harry's animations without a lot of post processing.
I do not understand a single bit but i love seeeing behind the scene editing
tanks for da help
I don't understand anything at all, but it looks cool
3:14 - 3:15 WAS THAT HARUKA FROM THE YAKUZA FRANCHISE?!
That was a based move. I like that.
Спасибо!)
"Its finally here"
HES STILL ALIVE
I've never used Source in my life but this is still interesting

tat was mazing
I'm surprised you didn't talk about the weird S2FM map lighting situation.
NICEEE~~ 👍😎✨.
Interesting… I’m gonna use this tip if I ever become a s2fm animator (never )
Needs more Lens Flare and Camera Shack. :U
I have a question : In SFM, some eye-textures allow to make animated irises by applying the "$irisframe" integer by using custom materials in the model tab. It allows me for example to animate an eye and to make it shrink or grow at will. The vtm texture allowed for multiple textures to be compiled in a single one, allowing me to animate it. I'm still looking for a way to achieve the same result in S2FM. Is it even doable ?
i REALLY WISH i can learn source filmmaker
but i dont even know how to animate a single frame or make incredible lighting
would be great if there was a "starter" tutorial or smth
There is actually a series of tutorial videos valve themselves made, it's for s1fm, but i believe that it's applicable in s2fm.
@@adeeta5701 From what I know, S2FM is just SFM, but more complex.
@@theironycomedy6 the extra complexity is almost all engine side, in terms of actually using it its nearly identical, with some quality of life improvements
ye but its a bit too "complicated"
@@pivotraptor8648 wait till you see literally any other animation software
do you get all the functionality no matter where you get SFM2 from? Like, If i get it from dota, will i be able to everything the Alyx SFM2 can do?
I've been a fan since I have to change from my old account from this account and now I could finally subscribe to him
I can't seem to get the post-process editor's effects to show up in S2FM. How were you able to do it?
nice
Someday..I will have a strong PC
And then I'll start learning source filmmaker 2.. and I'll watch this video again time because I'll forget every tip 😅
but now i just wanna say, your voice is really cool
*C O O L I O*
I dont use sfm but still watched the video bcus maybe I will make vids/images in the future :)
Ah. The first and hopefully not only episode.. PLEASE HARRY DON'T LEAVE ME STUCK LIKE YA DID WITH SFM!
could you make a video about lighting?
Noice
Me: watching this to learn how to use SFM 2
Also me: doesn't intend on getting SFM 2, I just enjoy Harry's videos haha.
i love you good job bro
pls tutorial Dota 2 particle system

6:00 Ah, the traditions of Source tools. "Hey, so this part of the engine is supposed to work, but just doesn't. At all. So I've included a download that allows it to work..."
Well, it's working as intended. The issue is that Half Life doesn't ship with all the source content (because that would double or triple the game size for no reason)
You only need the original files if you intend to edit and make custom stuff, so it's a pretty niche problem overall. =P
Harry, would you mind sharing those HDRI maps? I can't seem to find anything similar anywhere on the web. Did you create them? Thanks
any tips on creating environments? i want to get into the art of my OWN spaces and objects... what tools or programs would u recommend in making realistic stuff like that? and also, how do i implement that into S2FM to make my own scenes?
Cool. 🆒🐙
Lov ya
im going to watch all the tips and tricks of sfm maybe i find some how to do a mirror
Not sure if you still reply or look at comments on this, but I have a big question. Gradient fog in hammer works after compiling and loading in-game, but NOT in S2FM. Any way to make it work without using volumetric fog?
good to know Source 2 still has a lot of spagget
The spaghetti is tastier though!
@@Harry101UK and more dangerous, because they threaten to burn your house down twice as much
Going Home 2 at this point is like Half Life 3
How do you make the lighting do this -> 0:34?
Can you teach on how to rig characters in s2fm?
was hoping one day we'd get a proper S2FM standalone release with more graphical systems, fixes to tools and janky workarounds, etc. But it seems like S&Box is doing that now? I've asked around but still haven't gotten an answer about what S&Box's S2FM is like
So is meet the cores 4 gonna be in both SFM and S2FM?
Me: ‘’Still waiting for going home 2’’
1:30 when you accidentally channel your inner LGR.
Harry please make going home episode 2 it's been a years
This might be a strange question, but can I import objects or even maps from Roblox into this?
S2FM is like a better blender of sfm
