I just started using this camera for my UA-cam videos I like it but that’s not saying much haha. I just needed something decent to do tech reviews with. The price dropped down below $400. That’s the only reason I picked this up
Thanks for the vid! I'm curious what you think about using it as a studio camera for youtube videos (mainly talking head type videos)? How is the depth on and how does it work with different lighting situations?
@@MattyDCCollins sorry I meant to say depth of field. Phones are pretty poor at depth of field. Phones definitely overheat in my experience. Just saw another reviewer say he couldn't get the zv1f to overheat though the regular zv1 did
Thanks Matty! I was debating on using my iPhone or buying this cam for vlogging and I think I’ll stick to the iPhone for ease of workflow! Also hahaha that voice over was hilarious, I’ll consider upgrading my Artlist sub to get this feature!
Hey there, thanks a lot for the video. I want to start creating content, mostly about fashion and lifestyle. I am currently debating of either getting the ZV 1, ZV1F and ZV e10 with a 16-50mm. What would you recommend to buy, I would be very gratful for an answer as I‘m very new to this.
@@MattyDCCollins Hey man thanks a lot for the reply, very kind of you:) What if I‘m not planning on upgrading and just staying with the base/kit. Is the zve10 still the better pick over a Zv1? Thank you so much for your time
@@MattyDCCollins I had bought a used one for $379 from MPB, but when it arrived it wouldn't read any SD cards so I sent it back. Then this week Sony had it for $100 off and then an extra $25 offer, so I got it new for $375. Not nearly as good a price as you got, but still pretty decent (and with a long warranty). Anyway, just sharing in case it is of use to anyone -- if you wait for a sale you sometimes get just a good a price as you would used from MPB or KEH.
Question: I'm currently filming my UA-cam videos using my Samsung Galaxy S24+.. I am wanting to get a camera now after a year of filming my videos, and my budget is tight. I've found a Sony ZV-1F for a good price, but I wonder if it is any better than my galaxy? What's your opinion?
I did a lot of reviews on this camera and I agree that its not the best at all but for some reason, I do miss this camera for simplicity and if I could find it for $250 I would get it for a B studio cam.
Nice to come across another Victoria BC resident - I just picked this camera up to step up my game. Thanks for the review!
No way!!! That’s awesome I love it here in Victoria
@@MattyDCCollins if you ever do a meet up, I’m totally down. Would love to learn more any time I can!
Hit the like button right on 1 buddy. Love the countdown. Also, that voiceover 😂😂. So good dude
hahah my guy!!!! and yeah the voiceover feature is hilarious man

That’s a pretty good deal man and yeah you don’t need much to get started :) even a smartphone works 👊
@@MattyDCCollins amen brother ! That’s facts
What would you recommend for doing reviews and top 10s?
I’d like an intro camera for that plus a decent mic
zve10 ii by sony is worth a look!

Honestly you could use anything to start with nice lighting. If you’re doing longer takes like 20-30 mins runtime you might overheat it

of course my guy and yeah go check out this AI voiceover feature it's insane!
Is it worth trading with the Canon 77D?
Nah its worth keeping your Canon 77D buddy, this is a fun little pocket size thing but limited especially in photography

I got an iPhone 15 pro max, does the song take a better video then the iPhone or not worth it?
Definitely use your 15 pro max!
is this, hx99 better for street photo
I think they would be similar bro but the no raw sucks on the 1F check that the hx99 does raw
@@MattyDCCollins can you do a review on hx99
My a6000 broke and well i am broke. I’m wondering if getting this camera or an a5000 series would be better for the time being
A5000 would be the choice for me
@@MattyDCCollins ty i think you’re right
What is your cinematic settings?
24 fps / 1/50 shutter and slog 2 with the phantom lut applied :)
@@MattyDCCollins Thank you for sharing your settings. What is a phantom lut?

Not that kind of saw or used
Where did you buy it for that price?
Facebook marketplace, people are usually willing to negotiate :)

What's your opinion?
Honestly Kate, I'd just keep doing videos with your Galaxy until you can afford something like the ZV-E10 II
No phase detect was such a weird choice.
hahah yeah they really crippled it by doing that
I just subscribe because of walkie. 😊
Hahaha respect Scott! I appreciate you
I feel like the MacBook webcam had better exposure and a clearer picture 😂
Bro... this mine has arrived today, and it's fucking shit. the quality is absolutely toss
hahah really? I found the zv1f to be not great but i preferred it to my macbook pro 16"
damn that sucks to hear, I use my a7iv for livestreaming but it's way more expensive haha
@@MattyDCCollins for real ahaha I’m returning it it’s shocking. MacBook is better for me
dont buy. bad quality
Bad for photo for sure - for video it is what it is for the price but I was happy with what I could get out of it using the log footage.
