Let's be real, Greg Eagles has done a amazing job resonating his role as the Grim Reaper. The evil laugh, the comedic and hilarity in his tone, the delivery of his lines and quips; his demonic monotone when he gets serious, he's what makes Death himself entertaining to watch. Plus, the jokes in the show never failed to give me chuckles where it got scary and chuckle. The killer tricycle was insanely funny but after the end it got dark when it started pummeling Grim to pieces, "THE AGONY...!!!"

Big Boogy Adventure was more the finale since Underfist is a (good movie) movie about the secondary characters. Grimm Mandy and Billy only cameo in it, it's more about Erwin and Hoss; and to a lesser degree Jeff, Fred, and Scar.
I'd say the best example of dark comedy in recent years was that one scene in Joker when Gary couldn't reach the chain lock after Arthur killed his old co-worker.

Correct, Richard Steven Horvitz, also Raz from Psychonauts. Except in the pilot of *Zim,* where Zim was played by Billy West (Fry from Futurama, as well as a million other things)
This show was such a treasure😂😂 I grew up watching it in Nigeria and though I didn't get some of the American pop-culture references, it always made me and my siblings laugh with the parodies, the humor, and the memorable characters. Sadly, they don't make cartoons like these anymore.
This and Courage were the best things I have experienced in childhood. And I'm 24. I would still go back to those two every time. It defined my entire life so far. As a HUGE Horror fanboy.
The mix of humor and the disturbing in this series was so juxtaposed in a way that has created the foundation of dark humor for the modern world. While we have shows like cyanide and happiness ND meat canyon it was the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy along with invader Zim and others that really carved the path needed for their success.
I love this channel just for putting in the effort to produce respectable video essays on deserving shows from my childhood that never seemed to be given a serious look anywhere else. Thanks Nerdstalgic for filling in that hole in the pop culture video essay landscape.
This show is one of the greatest influences on my sense of humor today. It made me laugh so hard and I never felt afraid only laughed at the insanity in the show such as the destroy us all scene or the soiled it scene just fantastic perhaps it played to something in my youth of my growing cynicism with having my child like wonder crushed during puberty and middle school; perhaps it IS the reason I have dark cynic humor. Perhaps that is worth a video in itself, all on these cartoons being mainstream for millennials and if it made us a cynical generation?
@Joshie Smith I learned how to shoot pool from an old cartoon called “Donald in MathMagic Land” with Donald Duck. It was showing angles of how a billiard ball bounces off the side
I love stumbling upon videos like this. I'm 24 now and definitely miss old Cartoon Network, Disney, Boomerang and Nickelodeon. With many great shows such as Hey Arnold, The Replacements, American Dragon, Megas XLR, Wacky Racers, Top Cat, The Flinstones, The Jetsons ... man I could go on and on ... my childhood is embedded in these. And sometimes, when adulthood becomes a bit too much and the weight of the world comes crushing down on me, I search for these shows and my world is okay again.❤

My mom absolutely hated this show when I was a kid, but I loved it so much
Zoe Christopher lmao I’m 22 and my mom thought this show was killing my brain cells
Opposite of this, my mom liked this show way more than all the other cartoons. But she also liked all the other classics. Dexters lab, ren and stimpy, animaniacs, cat dog. And all the other good cartoons.
When you realize that Billy sounds like Zim from invader zim because they're the same actor.
Yup
@Manbearpig ? yeah I think so. I haven't seen that show in forever lol
lmao wow I'm late
Oh shit didn’t notice
Wow 2 favorite character voiced by the same guy
This and Courage were my two favorite shows they were so fucking good
I loved courage so freaking much xD
I used to watch both
I don't know why but I loved them when I was like 8 and did not enjoy them when I was like 12 and now love the again
Man i got suspended in 4th grade Yelling " Destroy us all" Non stop when i seen that episode
Lol 😂🤣
you sir is a legend
DESTROY US ALL
I remember a scene were Billy's dad (who was literally an idiot) tries to scratch off a bugger but he goes so Deep in the nostrills that he pulls out his own brain and eats it. I was gross out and dying of laughter at the same time.
*booger
Omg I fucking remember that😱
"I missed you........."
"But my aim is improving."

"Cartoons will rot your brain"
Let's be real, Greg Eagles has done a amazing job resonating his role as the Grim Reaper. The evil laugh, the comedic and hilarity in his tone, the delivery of his lines and quips; his demonic monotone when he gets serious, he's what makes Death himself entertaining to watch.
Plus, the jokes in the show never failed to give me chuckles where it got scary and chuckle. The killer tricycle was insanely funny but after the end it got dark when it started pummeling Grim to pieces, "THE AGONY...!!!"
Billy screaming "DESTROY US ALL" for several minutes is something I'll never forget.
Mandy: (Smiles)
The universe: _This is an Avengers level threat_
Just Some Guy without a Mustache you seem to comment on nearly every video I watch
You probably watch normie stuff if You watch the same stuff he does because this is the kind of stuff the algorithm suggests. The normiverse is a large place inhabited by many
Bongos I watch fitness UA-cam videos... don’t go making assumptions and being an elitist
Everywhere I go, I find you...
This is a Kids Next Door level threat
i remember hating all the live action shows as a kid and still today i cant think of a live action show i liked from Disney cartoon network or nick besides thats so raven
Bruh, Cory in the House is today regarded as one of the most amazing classic anime series since the beginning of the industry.
@@MoStLy1aWaKE cuz that's not live action, that's an anime smfh 😒
Also ned's declassified was pretty good
@Phương Nguyễn *exactly* you have good taste in 😎
Drake & Josh was my fave
I feel bad for anyone that didn't have this show to grow up with in their childhood
Hahaha so true
I’m 27 years old and still quote this amazing show very often. This cartoon helped make me the person I am today and was an outlet to help channel my inner weird as a kid, and opened up the doors to aqua teen hunger force, the venture bros and the like.
“Someday, I’m gonna save Christmas!”
“Someday, I’m gonna save Christmas with a vampire!”
“My name is Grimmy and I’v come to reap your immortal soul”
Billy and Mandy save Christmas is still one of my favorite Christmas specials
Yo I forgot about that episode 😳
Malcolm McDowell guest-stars in it so yeah it's amazing
On God it boggled my brain
If that’s the one with vampire Santa, then that’s my favorite as well.
Big Boogy Adventure was more the finale since Underfist is a (good movie) movie about the secondary characters. Grimm Mandy and Billy only cameo in it, it's more about Erwin and Hoss; and to a lesser degree Jeff, Fred, and Scar.
Nice insite
I thought codename kids next door and grim adventures of billy and Mandy was the last episode
I'd say the best example of dark comedy in recent years was that one scene in Joker when Gary couldn't reach the chain lock after Arthur killed his old co-worker.
I agree, actually, it's the only scene that I liked
@@Euronymous_Bosch I did smile, because the film was over.
@@alejoparedes2388 🙄
Hard agree
@@alejoparedes2388 your opinion is wrong (joke)
ugh I remembered that one show where Mandy fell in love with this dude and asked the nurse if she was sick but kimda forgot the stuff in the middle but ik she ended up rejecting the dude because she didnt wanna feel weak or something??? but man seeing the lovey dovey side to her I remember THREW me off I was wheres the normal dark mandy lmao
Wasn't he French?
Iirc, she asked Grim to cut her heart out so she'd stop loving him.
@@selenagamya1612 Grim was about to, but then he had a "better idea" which was to dress Mandy up as a hottie the boy couldn't help but lose his cool for. The boy losing his composure allowed Mandy to get over him. -And then she punched him across the room..-
Looking back, I understand the intent but this line of events may not be the best to have literal children act out..
Still one of the greatest cartoons ive ever watched..
I'm pretty sure that Billy's voice actor is the same one that voiced Invader Zim
It was
Correct, Richard Steven Horvitz, also Raz from Psychonauts. Except in the pilot of *Zim,* where Zim was played by Billy West (Fry from Futurama, as well as a million other things)
I knew he sounded familiar.
It's amazing that I've been well aware of that but Billy and Zim sound unique enough that I didn't remember it until I saw your comment.
Don't forget his role Moxxie in Helluva Boss!
The real reason I remember this show is because I watch a live stream of it everyday on UA-cam
Lmao same
Yo which is the channel streaming it? I'd love to rewatch some episodes
Labyrinthia Rosenfeld just type in Billy and Mandy live stream
Oh boy, thank you! Both of you!
Ok fortnite kid
Ah yes Billy, the dad who went to the grocery store abounding his spider son...
WHY HAS NO ONE SAID... YA KNOW...
*WHISPERS* LORD MOLDYBUTT...
*mirror shatters
Don't say that name!!!
What name?
Lord Moldybutt!!!
*another object breaks*
This show was such a treasure😂😂 I grew up watching it in Nigeria and though I didn't get some of the American pop-culture references, it always made me and my siblings laugh with the parodies, the humor, and the memorable characters. Sadly, they don't make cartoons like these anymore.
This is one of my favorite shows of all time. I'll never forget about it.
Hey Mandy *S L U R R P* you look sublime today girl
Anyone else remember that scene 😂
Oh god the lime covered in spit XD
Her oler self was THICCCC!
Halo Grunt15 BROOOO was showing Mandy what that mouth do
😭😭😭😭😭😭mannnnn it’s crazy how I didn’t realize that until this year
The later seasons perfectly encapsule the 2000’s. The crew also went onto make chowder
I’m convinced Fred Fredburger is an undiscovered meme. Can we please make him a meme in 2020?
So, I'm guessing you weren't around when Fred was introduced? Trust me, he was in _no way_ undiscovered.
TheWanderingMist I’m saying he’s an undiscovered *meme* as in he’s not an internet meme... yet.
YEEES! (That’s in Fred’s voice btw)
He was back in around 2015 or so, but a very obscure one
We in the 4th quarter now we gotta have him as the next January meme
Mandy was always my spirit animal 😂 loved her cold demeanor and nonchalant attitude to everything.
Remember when Billy had a giant spider as a son?
I kinda pity Jeff the spider. He only wants love from his scared dad.
I love that it was so funny as a kid🤭😂
Buenos dias Mandy
Thanos Irwin
Your next line is....
*IMBECIL*
*_NANI!?!?_*
"If you loved your kids, you wouldn't have made them so goddamn tasty!"

I still remember Mandy singing over the rainbow....
That was great, and then she caused the end of days.
She smiled at the end and it brought about the end times lmao
“Right. We fly home, we never look back and we never talk about this again”
I remember loving this show as a kid and my aunt wanted it banned bc it scared her
lovely min yoongi 😂😂
"Thats a nice pic-a-nic basket you got there.."
" yeah, its okay"
I forgot why I loved this show
"why you still remember Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy?"
because it was a great ass show, video ends lol
Billy: Why is the ground shaking?
Mandy: That's shellshock, and this a Coup de grâce.
And also there was a supervillain brain in the body of a pink bear.
paco ramon evil con carne!! i remember that too
*purple
I’m sad you didn’t include the best character...FredFred Burger.
Fred Fredburger Yes!
"Judge, the nachos made my poo-poo really stinky"
I like chocolate yes.
mint mint mint mint mint
You just awakened something deep within me that has been dormant for a long time...
Because it's a relatively recent show and Alzheimer's hasn't kicked off yet?
Looks like that dark humor has shaped you
Well Yes, But Actually No
Using alzheimer’s as a joke isn’t dark humor, it’s just stupid
@@katitax508 and why's that
Sillimant dark humor is making fun of Jews or people with cancer lol
In India, The show was named as "Billy Mandy aur life mein haddi". which translates in English as Billy Mandy and bones in their lives.😂
glad I didn't grow up with that shit
This and Courage were the best things I have experienced in childhood. And I'm 24.
I would still go back to those two every time. It defined my entire life so far. As a HUGE Horror fanboy.
I feel like if this show was made today, it would of ended up on Netflix or adult swim. You since has literally the Grim Reaper as the main character
Didn’t even touch on the Christmas special. But touched on a lot of moments I forgot we’re great with the show. Thank you
It’s being so long since the last video... thanks for uploading
To anyone here: Aurelio Voltaire made some musics for this show.
I can see why xD
Wow Voltaire is hard to book!
“Brains, brains, I love em ,I need em.”
I love this channel just for putting in the effort to produce respectable video essays on deserving shows from my childhood that never seemed to be given a serious look anywhere else. Thanks Nerdstalgic for filling in that hole in the pop culture video essay landscape.
I loved this show as a kid, being into Dark Humor myself.
"Mandy, you like how I wiped out half of existence, yo!" - Thanos Irwin
"Perfectly balanced as all things should be, yo."
Thank you for posting high quality content
I love this show as a kid. This show's comedy still holds up today.
“Trepanation”? Huh. Who says cartoons aren’t educational?
The transformers cartoon from the early 80s taught me the basic formula for black powder.
@Joshie Smith I learned how to shoot pool from an old cartoon called “Donald in MathMagic Land” with Donald Duck. It was showing angles of how a billiard ball bounces off the side
addy bishop dude I saw that one too man :0
Tim Isleta 😮 I WASNT ALONE!
Learned "anticlimactic" from Fairly Odd Parents lmao
I still absolutely love this show at 22 years old.
Me too
Cartoon Network wanted to move to live action, just listen to that.
devin williams CN real was so trash
Snyder was cancer
Live Action Network
"Where is it written that we can only do cartoons?"
"In the name "cartoon network""
I love stumbling upon videos like this. I'm 24 now and definitely miss old Cartoon Network, Disney, Boomerang and Nickelodeon. With many great shows such as Hey Arnold, The Replacements, American Dragon, Megas XLR, Wacky Racers, Top Cat, The Flinstones, The Jetsons ... man I could go on and on ... my childhood is embedded in these. And sometimes, when adulthood becomes a bit too much and the weight of the world comes crushing down on me, I search for these shows and my world is okay again.❤
I feel like mandy took some of 90's version of wednesdays vibe
