Where did you get that filter!? I love your set up. I already have the rode wireless mic so id love to know how you got the ND filter like that please? Anyone?
Hi Gavin. Very much appreciate this overview of your set-up and workflow! I use an Ulanzi mobile phone cage and love it, so I've been considering their housing for the Hero 8 I have on order. Do you think it's a good everyday housing (other than underwater) for even when you're not vlogging / content creating, or do you recommend something else for non-water activities when premium sound is not a must to ensure the camera is adequately protected? Also, it's frustrating that GoPro has discontinued the audio adaptor -- especially since the Media Mod kit and the Ulanzi housing can't be used together on a Hero 8. Any workarounds for this, other than buying the adaptor from a third party who wants to gouge consumers?
My first advice if the audio adaptor has been pulled is to try and buy one now. Secondly the fact the Ulanzi housing has a 52mm filter thread is actually way for versatile for me. I can add a polarizing filter, a ND, graduates, that's what makes it for me.
Hey Gavin I have the Ulanzi G8-5 I was wondering what ND brand lense did you get? Is it a press on? I bought a 52mm ND lens, but it has threads. My Ulanzi doesnt have threads.
It is a threaded one as it does have a thread, at least the two I have do because that's why I bought it. It's a bit hard to get one sometimes as the threads can be not that well cut, but once sited the thread works fine.
Nice review ! What is your video setting for the Gopro ? It looks very good! That filter is also an amazing improvement and I'm tempted to get one ! Any link to that filter, please ?
Gavin Parsons Thanks Gav, nice to have some encouragement.I have a little question for you... my external mike has started making a fuzzy crackling noise although it is picking up audio fine. I have plugged it direct via the Jack into the port on my computer and there is no fuzz, but attached through the go pro adapter to the go pro, fuzzy! So I’m guessing there is a problem with the go pro adapter, I’m just wonderingIf it is to do with salt air getting into the port, Do you have any advice on what product I would use to clean the female port on the go pro mike adapter?
@@ForageFishFood Yeah that GoPro audio adaptor is an unnecessary extra bit of kit you shouldn't need to use, but have to. If you think it's salting up, then use some very weak white vinegar solution on a piece of kitchen towel to clean out the female adaptor. Give everything a good clean and see if that makes a difference.
Great video. Going to go with your setup. Been wanting the Wireless Go for awhile. What are your GoPro protune settings?
Thanks this was helpful
Glad it helped
Seems like at episode of survivorman
Glad you liked it :-)

It's a standard circular polarising filter (52mm). You can find them in any photographic shop or online.
I have a question with this set up, can you use superview with a filter on? I'm wondering if the filter can be seen in video on the edges.

Gavin Parsons - Appreciate the response. Thank you!
That was very well put together video thank you for that looking forward to more.
Thank you for saying so I really appreciate it. Once lockdown is over there will be more outdoor videos. Right now I am planning some inside content.
Thanks for the informative video....I'm new to the GoPro but find it's a terrific camera....even better with your setup!
Thanks for the comment John, I appreciate it. I hope it's useful to you.

It's just a standard circular polariser. A Hoya one is my preferred, but that is just an old one I had from an old lens I used to have.
Looks like you could help me out a little there mate 😉
Good to meet you the other day. I like your videos :-)

The bloody thing is so expensive for what it is, got you by the balls there. Your video above it’s probably the route I should be going down

Gavin Parsons thanks chief 🙏👊🏻
Which dB you use in your wireless go?
I use the mid range. The highest is just too high
How much does the whole set up weigh?
Not very much is the honest answer
