You did quite good for starters. I have learnt something
Wow amazing that is beautiful very pretty all nice enjoyed this a lot I like this
This is something new lovely sis Jijie! Looks absolutely amazing great tips for my indoor plants can’t wait to give it a try sweet sis
Thats a nice trick. New to me. Good idea sissy. Malaking hinlalaki sa taas.
Great. Good idea 👌. Thank you for sharing!!! Have a wonderful week. By from London 🙂👍
Nice pod ni na idea te 👍
I saw this method on another video. They showed two ways to do it. From what I understand, if you would have put the plants above the level of the water source it forces the plants to draw up the moisture they need to survive. I am going to give this a shot before I use it when I go on vacation. Thank you for this video.
Thank you so much for leaving this comment!
Can you tell me what worked for you to keep plant watered while away thanks
I thought the water source had to be higher than the level of the soil, so that gravity helps it drip down the rope?
What? Isn't it the other way around?
Wauu Nice very Nice 💖 good morning 💞
kawawa yung natuyot na plant. Puede pala ganun may pabilo. hehe its a good idea.
wala ko kasapon dah... my..my.. some died from the incisions that you made! lol
Wow Talaga hehehe✨
Interesting method. Medyo pricey yung pot na may storage water sa ilalim. Yung byenan ko usually yung 1,5 liter bottle ng Softdrinks gamit nya may nbibili na adaptor sa opening ng bottle and pantusok sa soil .
I think it will be quicker if you wet all the wicks first!
Thank you for the video. How did the Lucky Bamboo turn out? I saw you had a rope in one, but you didn't talk about it. Does this wicking system provide enough for a Lucky Bamboo?
Beautiful plants🌱
Thank you ❤
Can it help in long rope ,I mean if I bend the rope at some angle then can it drop water at two place or it will drop at last point only
Which material wicked better? Thank you.
Creative kaayo oi...unta maka survive ate jie kay sayang kaayo mamatay ba..
maayo gani te pag uli ninyo buhi pa..
I also found nylon works best and fast but main reason for nylon is that it won't rot!
Thank you for that, i will keep that in mind.
Alex Op I used cotton but was only away for two weeks
What should I use? Nylon or cotton? What do you suggest
Hi, what size of the wick u are using?
your water pot is higher than your flower pot, so the flower pot fill be filled with water, put the pot lower while finding a string that will pull the water high enough to the dirt. the dirt has to be compact enough to pass water along
thank you! i will remember to do that next time!
I put the water even or lower than the plant roots. That way the thirsty dirt/plant drew the water in… so far so good…
@@gloriasimonetti955hey can you please tell how that worked for you? thanks!!
Your water source is too high. Water self-levels so it'll flow down until it runs out or levels. Since your pots are lower, it'll continue and overflow out the bottom of each one. It will work if your plant pots are higher than the source water by a few inches, but not too much. In this manner, the water will wick upwards until gravity neutralizes it. How high up it goes depends on how good the wicking material is. For example, a rayon rope will wick up into a pot's bottom soil about 4 or 6", then the soil will wick up another few inches. This is a great way to water (wicking). Here's a way to understand a bit better. Get two clear glasses. Fill one full and the other empty. Place right next to each other. Wet a wicking rope long enough to reach the bottom of both glasses. The rope will draw liquid from the full glass and fill the empty glass until they're even. Now do again, but raise the full glass a couple inches. What happens?
Thank u sir for ur tips
哇靠.真棒
I tried it for a month it works
Hatagan tikag tanom te.. ug maka anhi lag san carlos... haahha
Is it possible to use this method even my plants are outdoor??
Yes, i believe so. People do this for outdoor plants too
Thank you 😊
natawa n ako dun sa huli ung isa namatay whahaha, may mamamatay at mamatay tlaga eh noh hehehe but atleast effective right?
Thanku so much❤❤
What if I cut or remove some thread from alignment so it would help to drop at many place at a point or put some thread at some place
Im not sure I understand what you mean
I could link it with same like current flowing in wire then from that point of view more water will come out at some pt and last point will have very few water
Can't I use cold drink bottle for this purpose I m using but it is not working
nice video helpful
Thank you!!!
Does the rope stop the nutrients and filters the water? What do you think?
I honestly don't know. But it in my mind, there is a possibility that it gets filtered.
@@missparanit probably is getting filtered. So keep that in mind and prepare a good soil mix
definitely will for next time, especially if you're doing this often
Nice video:) next time you can try this, but with the water basin below the plants instead of above. That way gravity doesn't interfere to overwater the plants!
Thank you for that. I think i will put less water too.
In order for the capillary action to work drawing out the water, the source of the water must be at a level higher than the pot being watered.
@@missparan You can use thinner rope to control the water rate into the soil. Bigger pots get thicker rope.
@@Mlogan11 No, that's not right. Try putting the end of a paper towel in water and the water will quickly move upward saturating the paper towel.
@@skrome1953 You are incorrect. Capillary action is what draws the water up the paper towel, but it will only go to a certain height until the force of gravity counters it. This is why you need the water source to be higher- so gravity works with the flow and not against.
I use cotton
Has happen to some of you to use these methods, come back from holidays and find your plants dead? To me this happened last year 😢It doesn’t work for long periods.
How long were you gone for? I'll be gone for 1 1/2 month tonight and I'm using this method!
I was gone for 2 weeks
Did it work for you?
Did it work for you ? For 1.5 months ?
Don't do it. You'll have a mess to clean up.
So you suggest to use cotton or nylon ropes?
i suggest nylon, i think it gave just enough water
What if she came back and found the water in the pot was higher?
😂😂😂 i will understand my plants peed 😏
If it soaks too much water, Maybe a thinner rope would work (not sure) !
I agree, i might try it again with thinner rope. Thank you!
No, it'll just take longer.
Maybe use a smaller rope.??????????? I would probably try this method before I do on vacation, to see if it works or not
Might have been easier to wet them beforehand
thanks
You're welcome!!!
the rope needs to be thin and not very thick
Thank you for that. Will definitely try that next time
What happens with a thick rope? Can you kindly explain?
Would micro fiber pieces work?
Any rope will work, it just affects how much water it can suck up the more absorbent the material is
@@missparan thanks
How many days it will be like that?
We were away for one week
Drip tricks is not working only half of water is going rest is there was n bottel bottom I m using cold drink bottle for this purpose
Humot ang calla lily dai?
Walay baho dai. Mastress ko ana tanuma. Ever since napalit namo ga cge ra kog worry kay kamatyunon jud sya permi. Hangtud nadayunan nalang jud. Cge rag gatinga. Haha
Maayo kay namatay na,wala nay stress..
I guess that the nylon rope didn't work at all : could you confirm it please?
It did, but the plant was not sucking up the water cause it was practically dead
@@missparan/ I would probably use a thinner cotton rope when I go on vacation. I'm still not clear whether the water source should be higher than the plants or the other way around.
Can this cause overwatering?
Yes. If u put too much water in ur pot/source
@@missparan ah okay thank you
How many days it last long for
I was away for almost 2 and my plants were super wet when I came home. If I didn't come for another month I think they would be ok with how much water I put in that pot. I DON'T RECOMMEND putting that much in your pot, only what's needed for 1 watering session, esp if you're not going away for that long. You will drown your plants if you do. But I always overwater, even when I'm home because I worry that they will die if I don't water for a week.
The rope you used was far too large.
Small wick = small drips, less often.
Large wick = large drops, more often.
Thank you.
Good video.
Please speak clearly. It’s hard to understand you.
Thanks
Ok sir.
So what's conclusion?
i haven't left again, so i haven't tried this experiment again. i will update when i do this again.
This didn't work...my plants dried out
Im sorry to hear that.
It really works???
It did water my plants. Some over watered actually. I didn't everything correctly, but what I did was good for thirsty plants. If I was gone for a month, they would have drowned. Lol. I think, fill the pot up with just the right amount of water that they would need for 1 watering session.
Momotag Akter it works but cotton is better
Thank you for your input. It helps the people looking for answers in the comments.
15 minutes vacation?
You need microfiber
That water is going to smell like super swampy ass after a few days of standing still. Better to drip irrigate .
You're right it was pretty yucky. That's why I suggest only putting enough water for 1 watering session. I put way too much water. Thank you for pointing that out.
Sound is very slow
Sorry ☺😚
