Looking at Tesla's online shop, if you click on the 128 GB USB drive they sell, it says "NOTE: USB - 128 GB IS INCLUDED WITH ALL NEW VEHICLE DELIVERIES."
Unless you have FSD I recommend leaving the autopilot on double pull. When on the highway using your blinker indicator will disengage autopilot but leave cruise control on. That way you don’t have to worry about hard breaking once you disengage AP. If single pull AP is on the you have to disengage AP, keep speed with the accelerator, then reengage after you change lanes. Didn’t realize this the first time I had single pull enabled and was VERY surprised.
Oh my god, thank you! I just bought one and took a trip and knew I was doing something wrong. I just couldn’t believe I had to disengage auto pilot completely to just switch lanes. Disengaging gives a slight jerk and on the highway where it wasn’t fun.
@@NoNameFish247 thanks of course after I purchase the vehicle I better understood that if you have one pull and you change into disengages, them both versus two pulls only disengages autosteer when changing lanes. Thank you for this advice.
No, regenerative braking doesn't use brake pads, but instead uses an electric motor to convert kinetic energy into electrical energy and store it in the battery
I realize this is not your car, Ben, but setting up user profiles would be the first thing a new owner has to do. Setting up a 2nd driver profile including phone settings and card setup is something nobody shows in these types of video. Perhaps that could be something you could cover in the future.
I would recommend toggling "Apply Brakes When Regenerative Breaking is Limited" to ON. Especially for people new to EVs. It essentially makes the car always feel the same when letting off the accelerator. So the driver never feels a different level of deceleration, no matter if cold and regen is reduced or the battery level is high. This makes learning easier as the car always brakes consistently...I don't see a downside to this.

No, you won't have to keep your foot on the accelerator all the time. Hold mode works incredibly well, and will hold the car in place, even on a hill. You will get used to the "go cart" feeling of one-pedal driving VERY quickly. It is one of the most enjoyable aspects of driving a Tesla to me. And I have been driving for 55 years. By feathering the accelerator pedal you control the amount of regen. Give yourself a little time to learn the new school technique and I’ll bet you will love it. One pedal driving.
@@notvaporlocked5479 No doubt it drives amazing but just feel I have to press the pedal a bit too hard just to get it to a normal speed and then releasing it stops the car almost immediately

A month from now I predict you will love it. BTW there is no setting on the car that you can change to reduce regen.
Regen and braking can be adjusted easily. You can adjust the regenerative braking to where there is no strong braking when taking your foot off of the accelerator pedal. It will drive like any ICE vehicle Go to: 'Pedals and Steering' in the control menu. Then to: ' Stopping Mode' There are 3 settings from which to choose. 1. Creep- there is no regeneration. 2. Roll- there is minor regeneration. 3. Hold- there is maximum regeneration. 'Creep mode' will have no regeneration.

I’m on an extended demo drive of a 24 Model Y right now. AWD, LR. Within literally five miles of the drive - I can’t believe the difference in steering feel between this car and my current Model 3 (LR, RWD). The word that comes to mind is ponderous. It doesn’t feel like it wants to stay in a straight line and needs constant micro corrections from me. My wife asked why Inwas driving like that…And yes I tried all three steering modes. Was really looking forward to moving up to a Y but wow…what a surprising deal breaker. Have others experienced this? Am I doing something wrong?
Yes I used to have a model 3, then changed to a y and felt that the steering wandered very slightly. It seems to have settled now unless I have just got used to it which I doubt. The model 3 however is much more sure on the road a bit like a go cart.
My experience is the exact opposite. But I jumped from a 2018 Model 3 to a 2024 Austin Y. I think the one-piece castings make the car feel very solid, and mine tracks perfectly. Maybe the demo needs an alignment?

@@notvaporlocked5479 No doubt it drives amazing but just feel I have to press the pedal a bit too hard just to get it to a normal speed and then releasing it stops the car almost immediately
@@jigs8437 you have only had your car for one day so it takes a little time to learn. We have had our Y for two years and can roll to a perfect steady stop exactly where we want to stop regardless of speed and never take our foot off the accelerator. Give yourself some time. A month from now I predict you will love it. BTW there is no setting on the car that you can change to reduce regen.
Regen and braking can be adjusted easily.
You can adjust the regenerative braking to where there is no strong braking when taking your foot off of the accelerator pedal. It will drive like any ICE vehicle
Go to: 'Pedals and Steering' in the control menu.
Then to: ' Stopping Mode'
There are 3 settings from which to choose.
1. Creep- there is no regeneration.
2. Roll- there is minor regeneration.
3. Hold- there is maximum regeneration.
'Creep mode' will have no regeneration.
@@dvader3263 The new model Y no longer has the stopping mode if you didn't notice. They removed it from the settings
Excellent video!
Wish this video was done last month, got a dink on the tailgate edge in first 2 days. Put on a carbon fiber spoiler so cant see it anymore now :)
There's a dumb thing in this video. Keep it on one pedal driving, it's too complicated to switch back and forth between one and two pedal if your battery too full for regen.
Great video, thanks for putting this together.
thanks for watching
I have the choice to get acceleration still
yea that was a mistake in the video. it’s in the app but not the car in the rental fleet
U can have the speed boost in the app for 2000$ in the new Y
We love you gjeebs
The basic model Y has a différent battery compared to the rest of the Tesla range . Tesla recommends to charge it to 100% each time.
correct
The Y comes with a flash drive in the glove compartment.
I thought with the new 2024 model its recommended to Charge to 100% due to the LFP battery resilience
Only the cheapest rear wheel drive has the LFP battery.
Try putting the camera in front of the screen so we can see what you’re pointing at.
Thanks I don’t want to scrash my garage door. 😂
My wife an I plan to buy are model y 2025. Love the videos
text size to large,,,, Best tip.
er... I believe it comes with a usb drive
Merci beaucoup Très bien
Sooooo boost is no more? 😢
It's still there but you have to access it from the Tesla app
UsB in the glove box.........My trunk hit the garage door after a week, but only once, never did it again
Use chill mode: your tires will last longer and it's way more comfortable. Swich to standard when you need to pass. 😉
Pretty sure there's no data on chill mode extending tire life. And I'm not sure why anybody who wanted a nerfed car would buy a Tesla.
Love my 2024 y
I was that guy... banged my trunk on the garage door the very first time I drove it in and opened it up. Back in July 2023. My poor Red MY.
I can’t stand the light interface. I switch it to dark mode all the time and so much better
"when you are sitting at red light, you hear a chime, you can stop texting" - its not legal to use the phone at red light ! you just admitted to an offense 🙂07:56
