I bought a white GT line EV9 and traded in the most dependable ranked car in the U.S.A - a loaded 2020 Toyota 4 runner. I’ve driven Toyotas my entire life for their dependability and reliability. I decided to take the risk and just go for it and I’m so glad I did. I absolutely love this car and it’s my first EV and I am mind blown. I bought the GT line for 69K out the door after rebates and discounts. No leasing. I bought it out right.
I bought exactly this one a few month ago in S. Korea and it completely broke my stereotype about Korean Car. Even I am a Korean but I didn't like Korean cars because of its weak powertrains compared to Germans, so bought mostly German cars (BMW). But in EVs it is totally different story. I pushed this car to limit (here in S. Korea, there is a lot of places for overspeeding where the speed radars are not emplaced), this thing rips on corners, back winding road, even on highway lane change with overspeeding. EThe level of regen braking of E-GMP platform is top notch. Even I am Korean and I still can't believe how fast and well Korean car company steps forward in EV generation. It is really astonishing.
I’m waiting for my black Land AWD to arrive in a few weeks. I test drove a Light RWD last week…eco mode is insane on its own. It’s the no delay, no down shifting, that does it for me. I’m upgrading from a 10yo 2015 Leaf I’ve had since 2016.
A good review. One thing that I noticed next to the charger in the trunk was the V2L adapter which allows you to run 110v 18amps out of your charge port without the car being on. This means that it will cover much of your home in a power outage, or you can run an air fryer or espresso maker at a picnic.
They aren't selling in my part of the country (Okla), dealers offering $14K off MSRP on GT-Line EV9's. Cheap sub-$3 gas and fully maxed out Tellurides at $53K probably doesn't help sell EV9's.
I hope the EV9 takes off. It’s perfect for the suburban family. The outside screams future ev, but the inside checks all the boxes. And I say all this as a R1S owner. We test drove the EV9 but R1S has been a favored for awhile so it was really no competition.
Whenever comparing gas to electric vehicles, you have to compare more than just the cost of gas at the pump vs electricity savings. You have to add in maintenance too. That adds a big amount of money not having to do oil changes, flushes and so on that gas cars have to do to maintain or even just go wrong over the life of the vehicle. Yes, EVs do go thru tires a bit quicker, but still doesn't add that much over time compared to what the gas equivalent car will do.
Another great review. Safe travels. I am still in my Y. Looked at the CT this week at the Richmond, TX Tesla store. All my friends/employees were let go. Very sad. My prediction is Austin will ramp up CT to fill all the orders and pull back on Y production. The Y's at the Richmond, TX store were from Fremont.
USA pricing for EV9 is horrible, in canada maxed out telluride is 67k, maxed out ev9 after rebates is 74K... 7K equals 5k USD difference, EV9 is 56k USD
I need a Gjeebs style cross country trip in the EV9 so can decide to pull the trigger. The leases on the EV9 in my area are less than 600 a month with zero down for a GT line with 12k miles per year
Please update if you get that. Whenever I brought an advertised lease deal in, what I got back was never that. It was always much more. I ended up buying but would have preferred leasing
I have a friend married with a baby newborn and 2yr old that just bought an EV9 Light Long Range for $50,789 before taxes and registration. He wanted a EV for city driving mainly but wanted space. I’m single bought a 2023 Tesla MYP for $56,910 before taxes and registration and got the $7,500 federal tax credit. While I don’t have a 3rd row I drove with my married friends and their newborn car seat with 6yr old with booster chair and they were fine.
Gjeebs I think is the only Tesla owner UA-camr that is not bias to Tesla… The reason we stayed with Tesla is the super charger. Non Tesla super charger is a pain.
Do they still have the 12v problem? I wiuld hate to go on a road trip & my vehicle dies in an unfamiliar place or I go on a vacation & I come home to a dead Vehicle.
Electrify America, EVGo and most all other non-Tesla chargers are dumpster fires. Is KIA adopting NACS so it can charger at Tesla superchargers? If so, when? If not, very disappointing.
I'm hooked on the austere dash of my Model Y. I think I'd freak out if I had to go back to a button encrusted dashboard lol. Great vid as always, Ben!!!
Right I mean how many physical buttons are in the EV9!! Geez so many more things to break and I’m sure about 80% of those buttons they don’t even use daily. I think it has more buttons than the Telluride ICE!! I too have a 2023 Tesla MYP and I really enjoy the minimalist look with few buttons!! I do plenty fine with functioning on screen or voice control A/C, music, wipers, and navigation!!
Great review. Really interested in this car but im not convinced it would be a good road tripper due to the ccs and also that it charges terribly on tesla superchargers due to 800v architecture. Thanks for the review.
I just wish their head rests didnt push your head so far forward. I have scoliosis and the Ioniq 5 I test drove gave me a migraine. A deal breaker on a car I would have otherwise bought
I’m sorry but the EV9 with all those physical buttons would drive me insane!! I bet that 75% of those physical buttons are never used daily and just more things to break eventually!! I own a 2023 Tesla MYP and I love the minimalist with very few physical buttons!! I do plenty fine controlling what you use frequently on screen or voice command my A/C, Music, Navigation, Wipers, and Headlights. Elon had the right idea just like Steve Jobs did creating the touch screen iPhone to kill the Blackberry physical buttons and scroll wheel!!
I had almost all Lexus cars in the past Including LX600 Currently have GX550 and Kia EV9 GT Line EV9 GT is the best car for its price I paid 62500$ It beats Lexus TX and other cars Tesla can't even come close to Kia's quality Don't even compare

Congrats! Similar situation for me: pebble grey, loaded GT-Line. $67,500.
I paid 62500$ for 78k MSRP one
Black color
@@islami.i2111 great deal!
Including taxes?
I own a EV9 LAND. Best EV I’ve owned. And I’ve had six prior.

Love my EV9 GT-Line. I've had it since launch week. Just a nice overall car like you said. Would never go back to ICE after this experience.
Yea it's so solid

We preferred to stick with a known brand and save 30k.
I love my Wind trim. I needed the bench seat. Am I the only one who sets the climate on auto and just adjusts the temp?
Glad that I am planning to buy one in a fully loaded GT Line trim with Relaxation Package.
Save a ton buy through Dave Ramy Luther KIA MN. Almost $15k off
I appreciate that Kia went and created a better MDX that is electric while Acura was busy playing footsie with GM. Your move, Honda.

Hankooks are rated to 50k mi. We’ve it on our 3 and X teslas. They’re great

This is in Colorado so they toss an extra 5k on the hood. The numbers included taxes. The wind was just under 500

I like the kia ev9 it's useful. The price is a killer though.

I just got an email about your new Into the AM T shirt. I like it.
$56 for a fill is absolute insanity. If electricity costs that much gas cars can put up a strong fight eaailt
Slapping them cheeks side to side..😅😂🤣
I just got the base model for $45k .
Thats awesome!
id wait for NACs and supercharger access

Think Citroen may have been scooped by Kia their Oil concept birthed this design aesthetic that Kia is spreading across its lineup towards 2027

Plus much higher Insurance rates!

78k f u
Only has two major issues: 1) no NaCS, 2) it’s a K I A
No Kia is worth $53K
Get the Model X instead. You're welcome.
Model X is not in the same size class.
60K for a Kia? 😐
Not a fan of the looks, sorry
Don’t be sorry cause no one cares. Love this kia
Don’t buy a Hyundai or Kia. Don’t fall for the design and gimmicks. Under the skin it will always be utter junk.
