In what universe is metaphase the longest phase of mitosis? AP classroom even has a lab which has students count cells in mitosis to determine the longest phase and estimate time spent in each.
You have to add the chapter names along with their timestamps in the video description. Here is the official guide on how to do this: ua-cam.com/video/b1Fo_M_tj6w/v-deo.html&ab_channel=UA-camCreators
For me it’s 9th grade physical science and earth science (it rotates a semester) then 10th grade bio then 11th grade chemistry however 12th grade is a choice if you choose to do science in 12th grade since in my state the requirement is 3 years of science but in 12th grade it’s physics
In my school, if I tell my kids only the materials they need for an activity and a procedures list they say I don’t teach good bc I’m not telling them the answers 😢
Lol, I am watching this video and at the start the teacher asks if the students have heard of this and I had to ask myself, "Did they already learn this or is our state's education that bad?" Then she said, "You should of learned this in 6th-9th grade...." I'm like yeah, our education system is that bad.... Then I started to do research on the Louisiana state system.... Yes, we are bad but we are a lot better than when I was in high school.... *Face Palm* I'm glad I am going into teaching English and I loved to read...
SMH... Lol, Honestly speaking, I did this same, exact activity in college and passed with a D... Luckily, college was cumulative and I passed overall with a 3.25....
not trying to be mean but the attitude of most of these kids is they think they know everything also half of these kids are "my dad" pays for my whole tuition and im sure half the kids own cars that regulair kids dont own. and mister Yam yo chew obviously dosnt need to be in there he learnt it when he was like 4
I'm not sure how you're coming to that conclusion. This is a very common looking group of students and I see no distinct signs of affluent upbringing, either. The students, while not extremely engaged, weren't being rude or disruptive. Mitosis is a (excuse the pun) dense subject that many feel is somewhat boring, so holding their full attention is very difficult. Furthermore, there isn't tuition costs in public high schools...
This is an IDEA school. It is a tuition free public charter school. Do your research. Most of these students probably come from disadvantaged families and the zoned public school was failing them.

Hi I am a scientist on biology and I am thinking of being a biology teacher in secondary school. Your teaching is great!
Can you record more AP biology class ? Especially with this teacher. SHe does a really good job teaching about mitosis.
Absolutely awesome, brilliant biology teacher..I love your methodology..keep up..Am also a high school teacher from Kenya.
For future reference this is 12th grade (IDEA Public Schools use different colored shirts for different grades).
the chromosome/chromatid vocabulary has them confused because the teacher gave wrong information about the terminology.
Good job, am also a teacher of Biology in Kenya
Seriosly at 2:30/2:50/ you notice how many toes are tapping

Hi i'm using this for teaching video observations, what school and grade is this? Thanks!
Idea Quest in Edinburgh, TX... unsure about the grade level.
I think it's 10th grade only because she stated that they've seen this information in 7th, 8th and 9th grades.
You are a flute player
12th grade
same, i'm using this as an observation for teaching. Did you count this as a full hr? Is this for an alternative teaching program?
Good teaching concerning, how she is explaining the information.
What book are you using ?? Cambridge or EDEXCEL?? What’s the ISBN number ??
HI there, how did you segment the youtube video? That was really helpful!

Since the teacher is a woman and married, you use the term “Mrs”. When the woman is not married you use “Ms”. Or you can use ma’am as a neutral term.
She’d get a 1 on the terrible Danielson rubric. She’s teaching, the kids don’t magically know everything and teach each other.
yup - the danielson rubric is a crap way of judging teaching.

Don't you realized that your students are not active, 90% of the time you are only talking without letting them engaging your lesson effectively ;).
I noticed this 8 min in. She never paused and allowed for comments or questions
@@cherilyncarter7099 they tell us not to do that
I know this is a AP class however, I’m 26 years old & I don’t understand anything the teacher is teaching. She is moving too fast
