It's funny tho, because homeworks are a form of punishment and schools just won't change that. I'm not sure about this but I read somewhere that Finland doesn't give homework and their students are happy and perform well.@@rileyjensen1205
It’s funny because my algebra teacher expects us to do the same to ace all subjects. But I will never sacrifice my sleep, I already did during the first half of a school year before, and all I can say is never again...
I've been there. Had to pull a few all-nighters during my college years in order to get my projects done on time. The nighttime is basically another afternoon, making the whole experience feel like one long day that never ends, but it feels like it goes by faster because your're on a deadline. The worst part is when the sleep deprivation kicks in the following morning. 😫
I really need to remind myself of this. All nighters have become so normalized, but sleep is one of the important key factors of good school performance. Unfortunately my body has been facing the consequences of sleep deprivation, im hoping that i can improve my study habits so that I can go to bed earlier!
I always make sure to take a good night's sleep before the exam day and don't study afterwards anymore. Haven't failed a test in years. Start studying soon enough and then trust your knowledge! Go to bed to save everything you've learned in the day of preparing. Anything more you do has zero effect on your result (if not negative because you will be tired).
@knightlon yeah. Whatever mistakes have been made, they can not be undone. So let's just pat ourselves on the back for finishing another hurdle and get that well-earned rest after exam!
If you didn't study much before, and you aren't confident you know much of the material, then imo pulling an all-nighter is the right decision. I've done it many times, and it has always worked out for me. Not ideal, but better than going into a test with nothing. The essay portion is interesting, though. Luckily, most of my tests were multiple choice in the course I recently took.
5:08 - Reminded me of Fats Waller singing (in "Breaking The Ice") "everything's gonna be alright, Rome, so they say, wasn't built in a day, nor Rome-ance built in a night".
Gaining a Habbit of Sleepless Nights or being Awake the Entire Night, eventually, over the period of Time can cause 1. Psychosis 2. A Psychosis treatment can cause PTSD, which can cause Pre Examination Fever🤒, Stress in the Brain again leads to affected Sleep and Neurological Imbalance 3. Eventually this PTSD creates a Schizophrenic Personality in the Long Run. Thanks for this Simplified Vlog.
If you haven't studied much (if at all) before a test, and you aren't confident you know much of the material, then imo pulling an all-nighter is the right decision. I've done it many times, and it has always worked out for me. Not ideal, but better than going into a test with nothing. The essay portion is interesting, though. Luckily, most of my tests were multiple choice in the course I recently took. I've actually found it very beneficial and was one of the highest scoring in my class. The dopamine rush mentioned in the video is a real thing, and that paired with an energy drink and a zyn make for a crazy combination.
I did that throughout school...but I wish I hadn't. I have sleep issues now - difficulty falling alseep at night, etc. Looking back it would have been better for just to train myself to study in the early. I was a chronic procrastinator and always had to scramble. But because I always passed I thought I was doing ok.
@gemmeldrakes2758 same. Chronic procrastinator here. About your sleep problems, do you have a normal sleep schedule? Also, do you exercise? I find that if I tire myself out from the day, sleep comes easy.
This is the norm for us neurodiverse people, because if there's no sense of urgency, then it's 'out of sight, out of mind' until that urgency triggers a response. An over-reactive response, of course, but it's the only time we get anything done, for the most part.
I work in medical field n pull all nighters regularly. Same goes for studies. I also feel more focused in night compared to day. I do all nighters during prep days, but as a rule, I always get a 5-6 hrs sleep on the night before exam day. That makes me focused n refreshed during the exam time. What I have seen among my peers is that, there r morning & night people. Night people manage well with reduced sleep, morning people not so much. So it is better to establish a study pattern according to ur own comfort rather than following some one else blindly.
Procrastinating till the last night is one of the things that ADHD people go through especially when undiagnosed and unaware. Navigating the neurotypical world causes us to lose 10 years of life on average
I stayed up late last night doing English homework. Finals are the first week of December and I have 3 papers to write and a whole lot of calculus homework to boot.
The problem is you normally don't get to choose if you want to all-night. If the exam is tomorrow, you're going to stay up until you study every little paragraph, whether that's good for your health or not
Before the invention of agriculture (and drudgery) humans went through a lifestyle of hunting at night and sleeping during the day. Every once in awhile, one of us is a throwback to those times, and it's not harming us in the least to stay up all night.
I find the video hits surprisingly close to home. I used to regularly take exams with no sleep the night before. This got me thinking about my math scores, were they bad because of my brains reduced ability to problem solve that day🤔
I literally just took a break to decide whether to sleep or keep on studying for exams.... And this video popped up.... Idk what in the world can be more coincidental 🕶️😶
when i needed to study i did the opposite, i went to bed early, then i woke up like at 5am or something like that, and study until the exam, which was at 9am or 10am. worked really well for me, just after waking up you are full of energy, you use that energy to memorize everything, then you go to the exam, throw everything at the paper, and leave.
As someone that has become a professional at all nighting (yeah I created a new verb) To fix your sleep schedule and getting to bed really early you have to stay away a whole day and then decide when to sleep to make it your schedule and it will last for maximum a month, as every night you might start sleeping half an hour later than when you started, also when pulling the all nighter to fix sleep DO NOT use your brain, no studying, no processing info's, you become a vegetable and try distracting yourself mostly with drinking water and watching stuff that give some dopamine
Interesting perspective, but are we overestimating the importance of sleep? Many successful people thrived on minimal sleep. If pulling an all-nighter gets me through an exam with great results, isn’t it worth the trade-off? Perhaps it’s less about hours slept and more about how we maximize our waking time.
@@alex2005z You're absolutely right! While some successful individuals manage to perform well on minimal sleep, the majority actually thrive and sustain their success with quality rest.

This video should be released every year with some new facts to remind everyone how imperative it is to have a good night sleep. 😊
