Sounds exactly what happens when people from the northern part of Europe are in a dinner with Italians. Are you fighting? No, it's just a simple conversation. 😄
fun fact : There are many Brazilians in Indonesia & Thailand whether it's from the football path, marrying a local or studying here. but mostly from football, even many of them are now citizens of Indonesia. maybe because of the same weather as in Brazil, the same type of people and the food. Even now I hear a lot of Paraguayans are coming here.
Honestly as a brazilian we say it's rude to point at people but we still point at things, never heard of using more than one finger (sometimes you can use your lips to point tho) and the thing about accepting food varies a lot, in some regions you would be rude if you accept it and in others it would be rude not accepting it 😂
It's not rude to point at things, it's rude to make it known (loudly or obviously) that you're pointing at someone behind their backs or at their faces in anger, and I never saw anyone in any culture who didn't think that was rude.
Like, there is the expression "when you point your finger, there are three fingers pointed back at you", but that's about making an accusation or otherwise badmouthing people. It's not about doing "look, she's the girl I saw yesterday" for example. In this case, it would be rude to do it loudly enough that the girl notices it, but otherwise it's 100% normal.
@DrVictorVasconcelos I understand the importance of context for it to be considered rude or not, but I'm just saying that in general it CAN be considered rude even though we do it all the time specially to point at things

In Jakarta, wearing swimsuit on pubpic street would be considered as sign of mental issue. In Yogyakarta, however, it would be considered as rude. Using finger to point something is actually fine except for Javanese -- which is unfortunately the majority ethnic. Touching the head is really taboo in Bali. Raising voice is considered rude when talking to someone older than us. We really have to follow their tones. If we are younger, then we must go lower, not only in voices but also, our gestures must follow to show some respects. Another interesting fact about Indonesia that rarely been talking about is the identity of being a maritime country where only 2/3 of the area are composed of lands and the rest of them are ocean. Counting ocean to measure a demographic size may not be suitable for some countries because many are located on mainlainds, but for Indonesia it is a must do because Indonesia is an archipelago. If ocean is included, then Indonesia would probably be the second or 3rd largest country in the world. By counting land size only, Indonesia is positioned 11th largest country in the world. I live in part of East Java (Indonesia), I'll try explain a bit about "touching someone's head", at least based on where I lived. *The reason why it's becomes "taboo" was because* 1. Head (brain) is the most important of humans body, because thoughts, ideas, or basically everything came from it, so touching someone's head you didn't know, or without permission, or hitting it too hard is considered as very disrespect. That's why it changes from "allowed" to "forbidden". But it still depends on the person itself. 2. Most of Indonesian are muslim, in Islam, touching (caress) childrens head considered as a good deed especially if they are poor or orphans (you can Google it), it a sign of showing empathy, love dan care. The reason why it's "changes" was because it's become a habit, people touching newborn babies head that are still soft and not fully develop, parents are worried it will damage the head (brain), so people start saying "don't touch the head" over time, and somehow now it's like a "taboo" thing to do.

Gambling is illegal if it is operated in Indonesia. The act of gambling itself is not illegal but the operation is. If you gamble on a site but the site is operated in the US or any country, you don't get any punishment.
I need to mention that Indonesians often ask personal questions to people they've just met, like 'Are you married?' or 'Do you have children?' Don’t be surprised; they’re usually just making small talk. Sometimes, I lie when answering it

Hello guys, greetings from Indonesia 🇮🇩
hi!!!
Halo greeting from Medan
fun fact :
There are many Brazilians in Indonesia & Thailand whether it's from the football path, marrying a local or studying here. but mostly from football, even many of them are now citizens of Indonesia.
maybe because of the same weather as in Brazil, the same type of people and the food.
@DrVictorVasconcelos I understand the importance of context for it to be considered rude or not, but I'm just saying that in general it CAN be considered rude even though we do it all the time specially to point at things
use the lips?? I'm brazilian and I've never seen that happen lmao how does it work

Its still legal .
But most of them use singapore or us vpn to watch it tho

The problem with this video is generalizing, I suppose. Indonesia is a vast country consisting of various cultures. It is more or less like the States in the US. So, there may be local laws and customs that differ from one another. And despite the speakperson knowledge displayed here, naturally she only knows the parts she grew up with or adopted from her parents.
Julia's looks have improved a lot since debuting on this channel. Granted she has always looked great, but these recent videos she's really stepped it up.
In Kuta, Bali, which is tourist destination, it is okay to wear swimsuit in the city. However, do not approach holy sites such as temples, nosques, or church.
That's why some Balinese hate Javanese culture, "salim", where the young kids kiss the hands of respected adults (e.g. parents, teacher, etc.).
Gambling is illegal. However, religious gambling is tolerates by law. An example of religious gambling: gambling session to collect donation money to help religious event for temples. Of course, this gambling session needs permit from authority and no outsiders is allowed to take part in it.
Porn is illegal. So although we are actually silently consumpt porn, never ever watch it in public places.
Porn is def legal in Indonesia, no punishment means legal bruh, as simple as that
@@bellaoktaviantini watching porn is legal. Watching your porn collection in public is considered as distributing porn material which is illegal. Breaking blocking to access porn is actually illegal and punishible by prison to 6 years.
You have to differentiate between illegal and the laziness of authority to uphold the law and whether the law. Some law in Indonesia is complaint based (delik aduan). Which means despite that using VPN to watch porn is illegal, as long as nobody complaint to police, you'll be safe.
pointing with index finger is fine if what youre pointing is far.

Before 1995, Indonesian women did not wear the hijab because the government forbade it, wearing the hijab was taboo. But the rules change every time quickly, depending on the president.
Indonesia is like a combination of several countries. Can gambling, porn, drugs be legal? Of course, if a region and its people allow it. Like Abortion is now legal in Indonesia.

@Someyap Yes, In 2024 Indonesia already legalize abortion if you don't want to have children or a victim of rape.
Hijab is banned, Children in Indonesia before 1998 were prohibited from wearing the hijab at school. Indonesia legalized it in 2000 - 2002 after the reformation..
@@nolimitcityidA minor correction. It's only legal if the child is the result of rape. Getting abortion simply because you did not want a child is illegal.
Slightly incorrect. Its only, legal if its a medical emergency or the result of rape (Upto 12 or 2 weeks of pregnancy, if I remember correctly). Anything else is illegal, meaning if the fetus and mother is healthy and in no danger, and it was consensual between the mother and father, then abortion is illegal.

*The reason why it's becomes "taboo" was because*
