The fact that fixing bugs is now considered a redemption arc shows the direction where the industry is heading and it only got worse with companies trying to do the same.
I have lil bros at age 18 and 20, they played a lot of cod and Skyrim. They haven’t played game that released finished and working properly in their entire life. It was heart wrenching one Christmas. I bought them Cod for Christmas and we sat there watching it download slowly and after that game crashed and throw them out from lobby etc. I asked are they sad, they answered a little but it’s normal for the game not work. Imagine 10 and 12 yr olds already accepted this concept of modern gaming industry and just roll with it because they don’t know better. That’s how generation changes and society follows behind. So sad that our beloved hobby is now tarnished. I don’t buy Bethesda or cdpr products, I will not succumb for their business model

CP2077 is dogshit, but you braindead fangirls keep getting the details wrong. The only reason SOYNY pulled it from their stores, is to avoid processing refunds that CDPR claimed customers were entitled to. Not because SOYNY gives 2 shits about its customers, or game quality. Titles like BF2042, Gollum and Ass Effect Andromeda weren't pulled.

I know I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. My biggest issue wasn’t the bugs, it’s the complete lack of life sim features they advertised. No buying an apartment/house, backstory is meaningless, deeper character relationships are barely explored outside of the main story.

I mean I get it, saves on a bit of memory but for real CDPR? Honestly at this point I'd have been fine with a playable demo and another year or so wait for the full game. But I think it kind of became clear that, as Witcher sales likely dwindled down after the Switch port, they were milking Witcher revenue to fuel Cyberpunk development and had to get this out the door quick to recoup or keep their distance from a break even point.

Even to this day they still never delivered their promises that got me so excited for the game.
The trailers advertised gang factions and affiliation, all gangs are just generic enemy npcs.
Riding roller coasters, interacting with street vendors, going to strip clubs, etc. still non existant.
RDR2 is the gold standard of what a real open world game should be like.

The worst part is how genuine all the staff behind CDPR Seem genuinely sure they were going to release a very polished and playable product, when it was detrimentally shoddy. I get that, it’s completely fair to still be angry about it. However, although it will still never be what it was promised to be, if you look at it for what it is instead of what it was supposed to be. Today, I’d argue it’s a pretty good game. They’ve fixed most of the bugs and added much needed features such as a full police system, revamped combat and apartments. So I’d say it’s fair to enjoy the game now.

Yep. I booted up the game after the 2.0 patch, found a lot of features originally promised still aren't in the game, and even noted one instance of having fewer choices than I had before (there's a freezer in the first level where you could originally hide a body nonlethally, but while it makes sense for that to not be considered 'nonlethal' since the freezer locks, the choice has since been removed).
The best thing about this game is that they revived Crowbcat from the grave.

Honestly, Xenoblade Chronicles (1 and X as those are the ones I've experienced) slaps CP2077 hard from the open world and rpg standpoint IMO.
The game? The people behind it all! Bunch of lying crooks to get a big payout on D-Day with a shit product. They made tons of cash and everyone that bought in got duped. Even the PC players.
Lesson Learned: If you make a shitty business decision, just make an "anime"; suddenly, people will suddenly forgive you no matter how immoral those decisions were.

Only games I've ever preordered in my life were Super Mario 3D All Stars and Super Mario 3D World:Deluxe just because I knew that they would be nearly impossible to find. Nintendo as a business sucks. They make their stuff seem ultra rare and that causes people to buy the stuff and then those people turn it into a scalper's market. Nintendo were like "let's release stuff in low amounts to stores to make it seem that the stuff is better than it really is. It worked for Apple".
The police system is shocking. I mean, everything is, but that the police won't even get into car chases is astounding. Running from the cops isn't just a staple of open world crime games, it's a staple of literally any game with cops. Let's not even mention how vital it is to the genre of fiction they're in, where the cops are corrupt and scummy but since you're aligned against the interests they represent, they're against you. It blew me away to see that.

The glitches don’t piss me off; the game’s broken promises do

But the glitches destroy even the little bit of immersion that was left in, so they piss me off immensly. Night City is the best setting in years, but it is a Ubisoft Formula map and everything you can do gets repetitive after the second time. This is the real shame, because this city has no purpose. They even recycled the exact same locations for several quests while complete areas of the city are simply not relevant.

But missing gameplay features like the ones they show here (story, customization, and environment specifically) are at the core of the game’s identity. My biggest disappointment is, that there is absolutey no change to the world, no matter what you do. It's what bugs me most about MMO games, but there is an explanation because the world has to stay in a state for all players. CP2077 is a singleplayer experience, so everything is possible, and that's what I expected based on everything CDPR showed us. For an example: I thought when I do the crime scenes and help lower criminal activity, maybe the city would become cleaner. Or people would become nicer in dialouges. Anything. I would have loved to see a change in the environment. Even Assassins Creed did this 10 years ago, when they started to implement the missions to free districts in the city. There is nothing RPG like, absolutely nothing.
I am new to this franchise(is there one? I really don't know) and to me the game seems...ok ish? I mean cyberpunk setting is not really my cup of tea and I felt rail-roaded by the questline but people seem to hate it for more reasons than I could personally tell. Can somebody kindly explain to me why there is overwhelming bad review for the game? Cheers.
P.S. I start playing after... I think 1.06? so I did not encounter the many T-posing and graphic glitches shown in the video.

@@darkgamersupreme2348 I was one of the...apparently few people who sat back eager to see you all regret your decision and be so very disappointed. I did it previously when I preordered Fallout 76. I swore off preordering after that mess and now I laugh every time a preordered game turns out awful.
I waited for the reviews to drop. Pre-ordered it a day before after hearing how it was a 9/10.
It certainly wasn't worth the price.

The game isn't even focused on fighting evil corporations even thought the genre is supposed to be pretty anti capitalist and a critique of corporate culture.
@@AA-lz4wq nms at launch had at most a 13 person team working on it, it's not comparable to this shit. cdpr is a well and proper corporation that overworked its employees for _this_
The fact that CDPR didn’t allow reviewers to make/use their own footage for showcasing the game is a BIG red flag for what was really going on.

@Fafli Nah Less a fake demo and more of a build designed entirely out of those 3 starting missions, which are by far the best made parts of the game.
@Fafli Nah the fake demo was literally developed the same except since they had higher end pcs they just edited out any of the glitches
