8:21 Seeing this again makes me sad... you can tell the developers had so much planned for this game. Being able to actively construct a simple backstory is such a brilliant way of making players feel like their character is unique, even if all it does is unlock/alter dialogue options. I would've much preferred seeing development time put into this, instead of spending all that effort to give the player three different game intros.
After having played it, I fully agree. Yes making your own character is great, but the character you design more often than not doesn't fit to the voice. bought it at launch too but couldn't play it since my system just couldn't handle the state the game was in at the time, couldn't upgrade it either because unfortunately I live in a shithole country (Bostil) where we pay breathing taxes, are YEARS behind current day technology and we got buttfucked hard by covid + the mining crisis which made it simply unviable for someone to buy a decent graphics card (the min. wage here is around 1.000 reais a month and a fucking RX 550/1050 TI was around that price at the time, now we got 1650s for that price which is still shit and shows how late we are) but anyway I was finally able to upgrade, gave it a second chance a few weeks ago after the 2.0 patch and man, I am still hooked. Gonna watch Edgerunners soon cause I never did, although I already know everything that happens in that show after looking it up when I noticed Cyberpunk was trending again a year back or so, though positively. Still wish I paid less for it lmao, but at least I'm glad I didn't miss on the experience, was enough to make its way into my top favorite fictional universes. It's a bitter feeling tho, to know that this game could've been so much more if it weren't for the absurd amount of hype and the fuckin shareholders who pressured the release in an unfinished state. This game should've been released this year. Hope they learned from their mistakes and hand us a good sequel.
We always talk about the fall of Bioware and Bethesda leaving us with nobody but CDPR... but maybe if we didn't show our lord and savior such disrespect, Gabe would learn to count to three...
You know you've got options, right? Play some indie games. Or play games from the good devs like id software, turn 10 studios, etc. Or even fromsoft, though they have fucked up quite a lot in the past too. I mean dark souls 1 wasn't exactly the best. And dark souls 2 got that massive downgrade in lighting.
@@MightyManotaur22 Yeah, it was deffo complacency that "dude - we have like 3 years left. Let's work on this tomorrow" And little did they know - tomorrow never came, or should i say - came too soon.
@@MightyManotaur22 but the game is amazing, the story was just badly written and it needed a lot of polish a few more years could of made a big difference
I never got into the hype and just waited to buy the game on discount and for it to be fixed to a playable state and I really enjoy it. You can't be disappointed if you don't have any expectations.
same here I bought it on sale a few days ago with 0 expectations. after adjusting the controls because the default controls are garbage, the game is pretty solid.
Same here just bought it and I instantly got amazed by the stunning environment. I absolutely love the vibe that night city provided. One thing tho is that I really hope there are more interactions between the player and random npcs on the street. Really wanna buy foodies from the the venders of the food trucks in a few occasions coz the display of them look really tasty. You know, just chilling around in a lively futuristic fictional city imo is what many ppl would really want to experience in this game. Game sure does have the potential to be one of the best open world games, I don’t mind it takes time as long as they are still working on it.
Cyberpunk's "story" gave me cyberpsychosis. By the end I was so completely out of fucks to give that I just started destroying everything. Walking down the streets gunning down civilians, lobbing sticky grenades on every passing car... because I just couldn't give a shit any more. The game had proven in every possible way that NOTHING the player does amounts to anything. All "choices" lead to the same thing. All choices not given don't even lead anywhere in the first place. The real irony is that the single most profound moment I had in the entire game was wondering whether all those "cyberpsychos" the game had me kill were all suffering from the same issue I was: they realised that nothing they did mattered at all... that even rudimentary concepts like cause and effect were out of scope... that the only thing left to do was to go completely batshit insane and try so hard to destroy the world around them that maybe some part of it might remain broken... ... Well funnily enough I managed to break the police system. After cycling around a city block about 5 times, carpet-bombing it to a smoking crater, letting it respawn, then repeating over and over again... fighting the police off the entire way, killing them all, getting more to spawn and killing them too... the game just completely broke. Cars were floating in mid-air, stuck there. The police stopped spawning entirely. I'd overloaded the memory or something so hard that I actually broke part of the game. That was my one small victory. ...... and then I did that quest where the gay guy gets my help blowing up one van outside the city. And he got on the news. For one van. One. Van. Meanwhile I killed thousands of civilians, reduced hundreds of vehicles to burnt out wrecks, painted the roads with the bodies of Max-Tac .... and.... all I got was... well.... Max-Tac stopped wanting anything to do with me. Yeah. Fuck the story. Fuck the quests. If CDPR had made it so any of our actions actually made a difference, THAT I might have accepted.
@@SotiCoto it's not like any other game does this yet. Gta5 is probably the closest as in game heists are reported on the news but no crazy maniac destroying everyone in his path isn't presented.

Your bullshit isn't adding up.
Honestly, if they created the game with the intended bugs, It would be hilarious. A button that said "cyberbug 2077" for reals that had controlled bugs and glitches, and you could choose the bugs/glitches manually would be fun.
It has two launch bugs that crash the game still. It still has some bugs. But most importantly it's incredibly meh only because the gunplay holds it up. Cope harder.
@@cendresaphoenix1974Idk, I fucking love the story. Sat at the final decision for like, 10 minutes before I made up my mind. The gunplay is alright, but tbf I did experience it at like 30 FPS since my rig is old asf. Might've just missed out. Biggest complaint is the braking on the cars. Why is it so weak??
For those in the far future watching this video: Cyberpunk 2077 was being hyped to be nothing short of “the next Skyrim”, a game with endless possibilities in replayability , mod friendly, endless customization and just limitless background, lore and so much more you can’t even yet imagine. A game promised with honest interviews, amazing gameplay trailers, a game that people would be playing and making mods and videos about for over a decade to come- that’s what Cyberpunk 2077 meant. An impossible dream sold by people who at the time, consistently, reliably delivered. And then the game came out.
I reinstalled this game after not playing it for over 2 years and i'm honestly loving it so far but man it hurts to think about how much of a masterpiece it could've been
I'm in the exact same boat. Story and mechanics were great I thought booting it up after a couple years. Still makes me cringe knowing how much better it was planned to be and how butchered it was on launch.
While yes in many ways, I would say playing the game longer and longer on the last generation consoles makes it feel like Bilbo said “to little butter, scraped over too much bread.”
Speak for yourself. I just completed it and can’t believe how shallow the experience was. They may have fixed most of the bugs but, it is nothing like what they promised it would be. It certainly isn’t anything close to The Witcher 3 quality. Personal lowest point for me was the relationships. If you’re straight you literally have one option, in an rpg, crazy. Certainly won’t be replaying it.
The glitches made me burst out laughing especially the one of Johnny just straight ascending out of the elevator. I played it at launch and one glitch I remember having that drove me crazy was that my car would explode and kill me instantly just because I lightly bumped the car against something while turning slowly down a street, but then when I actually crashed my car hard enough that an explosion would actually make sense it would be fine. this glitch would also happen sometimes in cut scenes; I remember the first time I played River's quest line where you go to the farm to rescue his nephew, in the scene where he smashes the fence open with his truck, the glitch kicked in and made River's car explode when he hit the fence, killing us instantly and I was crying I was laughing so hard
You want to know the worst part for me? I'd been waiting for Cyberpunk since the first trailer and the game released on my actual birthday... I took 4 days PTO in advance just to play Cyberpunk... I stopped playing permanently 10 hours in. My disappointment is immeasurable, and my birthday is ruined. Funniest part is it wasn't even the bugs that stopped me, it was the fundamental game design that's little more than a generic looter shooter.
Yup. I build a full PC, going PCMR finally to play Cyberpunk. 1200$ gpu, 500$ monitor, 500$ cpu.. hell, my case was 300$ with another few hundred in RGB fans. I thought I'd get a couple hundred hours of fun out of Cyberpunk anyways, like I did with GTA games. I beat the game in 35 hours and was shocked. Went back to play Witcher3 to see what all the hype was about and cant believe it's the same studio. Sure, Witcher3 had zero AI too, but the game was long, had great crafting and loot, and had tons of branching missions. Cyberpunk had literally none of that.
@@gksne641 nah homie. The story was ridiculous. Literally first couple missions in you get Johnny installed. Then the rest of the game is trying to delete Johnny. Theres some good side missions yes, but I did all of them within less than 40 hours. I did Johnny's, Panem, Judy, River, Crucifix dude, the Cyberpsychos... if they somehow squeezed those into the main story THEN put in a bunch of great side missions on top of that, yeah, then itd be a good game. But theres nothing like Witcher3 where you're scouring the map looking for gear. No big bad enemy to fight like Eredin, no avenging Vesemir. If Witcher3 is a 10, which I believe it is, that makes Cyberpunk a 7 tops. Which is a fine game which I enjoyed, but it was crap compared to W3. They had this whole world built up with gangs and factions and they were background dressing essentially.

It’s better now, but still a shadow of what it could have been . Hopefully they learn from this and make the sequel be all it should be. Also keep the marketing team on a leash.
Hoping to see a less linear game. The whole chip story they had going on was neat but it limited options for the story. There’s no time or reason to rise up corpo ranks or get in deep with gangs.
Bought the game at launch on PC. Had a beefy system so it ran well enough, but bugs and lack of immersion made me put it down after a few hours. Just this month I decided there was enough work done to improve the game that I'd pick it back up. Plus watching Edgerunners got me all hyped up for the universe. It's not night and day, but many gripes I had were noticeably improved. Now I'm obsessed with the game.
Edgerunners really got people back into the game. Specifically to kill smasher. Thats a perfect marketing campaign.
Hell i watched edgerunner before i even touched the game. Ever since I have told people to watch edgerunner before playing 2077. I consider it a good gateway to the world
bought it at launch too but couldn't play it since my system just couldn't handle the state the game was in at the time, couldn't upgrade it either because unfortunately I live in a shithole country (Bostil) where we pay breathing taxes, are YEARS behind current day technology and we got buttfucked hard by covid + the mining crisis which made it simply unviable for someone to buy a decent graphics card (the min. wage here is around 1.000 reais a month and a fucking RX 550/1050 TI was around that price at the time, now we got 1650s for that price which is still shit and shows how late we are) but anyway I was finally able to upgrade, gave it a second chance a few weeks ago after the 2.0 patch and man, I am still hooked.
The cyberpunk 2077 comeback was truly legendary gaming moment
We always talk about the fall of Bioware and Bethesda leaving us with nobody but CDPR... but maybe if we didn't show our lord and savior such disrespect, Gabe would learn to count to three...
He’s making too much passive income of hats lmao
Everybody boycotted valve for making a sequel too early for l4d they took that personally.

Yeah but the problem is
If they delayed again it wouldve had severe consequences
If they couldn't do it in 7 years, they weren't going to do it in 9. Clearly the issue with that studio is bad management. More time doesn't fix that.

Honestly, thats what a normal person should think before going around pay for things that they dont even know if it will be really good
I just bought it too and have been thoroughly enjoying it
That's my relationship counselling advice too...
same here I bought it on sale a few days ago with 0 expectations. after adjusting the controls because the default controls are garbage, the game is pretty solid.
Found this video again literally on the same night I finished the story. Despite the game's state, the story is actually very emotionally addictive.

For those in the far future watching this video:
Cyberpunk 2077 was being hyped to be nothing short of “the next Skyrim”, a game with endless possibilities in replayability , mod friendly, endless customization and just limitless background, lore and so much more you can’t even yet imagine. A game promised with honest interviews, amazing gameplay trailers, a game that people would be playing and making mods and videos about for over a decade to come- that’s what Cyberpunk 2077 meant.
An impossible dream sold by people who at the time, consistently, reliably delivered.
And then the game came out.
Those far into the Future won't be able to read that.

Funniest part is it wasn't even the bugs that stopped me, it was the fundamental game design that's little more than a generic looter shooter.
shit critique
It's a story based game. You need to actually pay attention when you play it. Probably has the best story and side quests in gaming history
