Thank God for your background, I can finally show my wife that I’m not the only one with a “bag” problem! Great video! Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Just for the record, the number of bags you need (x) is always represented by the equation x=Y+1...where Y is the number of bags you currently own. Hope this helps.
im new to this scene and ive been trying to find out which goruck i wanted for the past week and this is the most helpful video ive found. ive settled on the gr1 26l. thank you!
Great vid as usual, but even more interesting to see how far you've come in the last few months! Content quality, transitions, speech... everything improved, good job man :)
Great review thank you. Man that bag looks super worn in and comfy. Everyone goes on about how stiff the straps are for the firs year !! ... is there anything I can do other than load it and use it to speed this process up ? I was also worried that I would be able to fit what I need in it .. but you have relieved my fears on that one. Thanks
Greatly appreciate your reviews. Recently purchased a couple of the GORUCK packs. The Rucker 2.0(USA) and a GR1 26L(Vietnam). Both bags are excellent. I will admit that the GR1 is more than I need. Again, Great videos.
Great video! I have the GR1 21L which is my favorite and that I use often but wish it was slightly smaller (height wise). Something between that and the GR Echo (which I also use when wanting to go light/quick). I have the GR2 34L but will probably downsize to GR2 26L when/if that goes back in stock.
Hi, I'm super close to buying a 26L gr1 but I've read that the 1000D Cordura will ruin your clothes really fast. Is that true, or does that only happen if you're always carrying heavy load. How was your experience with it? Thanks for the insightful review!
I’ve not had any problems with 1000D and clothes. If you’re working out and carrying heavy loads it does provide more friction, which is why the Rucker now uses a different material on the contact points. I carry a GR1 on my shoulders daily and have had zero problems with clothes.
I've got a GR1 21L and I'm 5'6". Unfortunately, I've worn out too many belt loops on my pants due to not cinching it tight up on my back. It doesn't happen that often now so long as I consciously wear it high. For "easy days," I downgrade to to my GR Echo. (It's a small ruck but I can easily still fit 3 laptops in it!). I am very tempted at looking into the GR Radio Ruck. Other than the belt loops, I've not seen much wear on my clothes.
Why not go to a local fabricator shop and have them custom cut a steel plate for the laptop compartment size of your gr1? Then it’s just as secure as in the Rucker, probably cheaper than Goruck plates, and you only need one bag
Well, it depends on how you pack. It's summer so not a lot of bulky clothes required. I could make the 26L work for me. But if you plan on bringing stuff back then it would be nice to have the extra space!
I’m searching for my first edc backpack and am having a hard time deciding between the GR1 and the Evergoods PLC20. Which do you think is the better option? Thanks!
Tough call for sure. Both are great. Will depend mostly on what you plan to carry. More color and material options in GR1. I like both but I give an edge to the GR1 personally
The GR1 sizing has always been wild to me. I've got several GR1s but only two of them are 26l. The thing just makes me look like I'm going mountaineering or something. I hate basing which one I buy on height, but the GR1 26l might as well be the GR2 40l on my back. 21l is the EDC king and all-rounder for me. The extra five liters is nice if you want to put something awkward in there like a pair of shoes, but these things pack out so well that most people that need more than what the GR1 21l can do will likely opt for a GR2 or 3 anyway.
I rucked for years with my GR1 and the stock frame sheet without any problem. I know people do that but I haven’t tried it or think it’s necessary. It works for me.

Awesome! Glad it helped. 👊🏻
After watching this video, I ordered the GR1 immediately . Thanks for this helpful video. Can't wait for all my gears.
Awesome! Thanks. Hope you love it.
Thank you so much. It's on the way 😄😄
You keep smacking the bags 😂😂
It gets really funny once you start noticing it
Love your content! Please keep doing more~
Haha, I actually do notice it in the editing since you mentioned it. Maybe one day I’ll add the counter! 😁Good thing these bags are made so tough!
I found your comments to be accurate in using the GR1 - 21L, & the GR-2, 26-L more for travel
Thanks Joe!
Extremely high production quality for such a small channel. Good video and long term review
Thanks Anthony!
Great vid as usual, but even more interesting to see how far you've come in the last few months! Content quality, transitions, speech... everything improved, good job man :)
Thanks Hugo, watching some of the early ones makes me want to refilm and erase the early days!! Learning curve for sure!
GR1 the land cruiser of backpacks.
Totally true

You could try getting the straps wet and working them over a bit. Other than that, you said it: load it up and carry it!

Thanks for watching!! The good news is the reseller market is strong for all the GORUCK gear.

@@jasondeleon6527 You'd love the Radio. Perfect size IMHO. I did a video on it

Solid idea for sure!
You could also buy a shaddox plate pocket
I need to check those out
I’ll be going on a 5 day trip to New York for a missions trip, will the gr1 26L do the trick ? Or should I go with the gr2 34L?

Another excellent video
Thanks Joe!
Love that hat. GO BRAVES!!!
You got it!
Curious to what cooler/lunch box you fit in the gr1?
Just a basic cube style off Amazon. Nothing fancy.

Would you suggest to upgrade the frame sheet of the gr1 to the Kydex one for rucking?

@@JBOutside1 alright, thanks for your reply.
What aviation headset do you use? Fellow airline pilot here😊
David Clarks Pro-X

Korea somewhere. Military days

Great video, thanks. Now stop smacking a bag every 4 seconds ;)
Haha, yeah this was a really early video. I think I’ve gotten it down to 8 seconds now. Getting better! 😜
Is there a poor mans version of the GR1? I like the size and simplicity of the Goruck but I'm not selling a kidney to purchase a backpack.
I’ve reviewed a few less expensive options. The REI rucksacks and the Fjallraven are two examples

Wow! That premier setting is really annoying. I agree. Not what I intended. I fixed!
