Watching this I'm saying to myself "I do not need another backpack. I do not need another backpack." But then the little voice at the back of my head whispers "Its a ruck not a backpack. You don't have a ruck." Good point little good point
After much contemplation, I ponied up the cash for one of these. My thought was that I am going to do 2-3 events and I wanted to also find a better work travel pack since I destroy one every six months or so. After getting it, I would have to agree that it is shoulders ahead of the competition. The quality is evident, but the design is what really makes it worthwhile. I can load 40# in there and carry it easier than 20# in another pack. The thing is glued to my back and even though I am 6'4" it actually pretty much fits. If you have the money and want to schlep heavy weight, or simply want to stop buying laptop packs every year, this is a good choice. That said, it should come with at least a sternum strap. I would also love to see a "tall" size where the shoulder strap padded portion was one molle loop longer as well as a few extra inches on the tightening webbing.
Superb pack investment! I have the GR Radio Ruck and the GR Echo. Unparalleled quality and construction!! Second to none! Rides like a dream on my back. One goes in the Jeep, one hits the trails/peaks. With the scars (lifetime) warranty hopefully-if anything falls apart they will take care of it. Love the ethics of this USA company! Thanks Jason!
@@bobinasack I'm seeing 26L GR1's on there for $335. Plus a coupon for 10% brings it down to just over $300. Still expensive as hell but for THAT price I think it's worth it.
@@amaxlitethere’s a lot of cars that have the same features as a Ferrari, four wheels, two seats, steering wheel, engine, seat belts, etc etc It’s is not anywhere near the same. So yea there’s a Jansport with the same features but it’s not made to the standard and quility of this bag.
@@BruceWayne-zj1kwMy disappointment isn't because I think the quality of the manufacturing will be compromised. It is because GORUCK brands themselves as a company that is built in the USA, and for many reasons, I prefer to support companies that manufacture their products locally. I know there are good ‘business’ reasons for manufacturing these bags overseas, but it doesn’t negate my disappointment. It does, however, make it harder to justify their premium pricing. Of course, you are entitled to your own opinion.
@@stevecook1379 Yeah if they're charging that much for an overseas bag, fuck off. But I talked with a GR rep and he said that they do still make a lot of their bags in the US. If it's got a US flag on the site, it's American-made.
That is a nice but overly expensive day bag with one fatal flaw. Even a small day bag like this should have even a rudimentary waist strap (belt) for extended carry or for on a bicycle.
@@TheRedfish Yeah but then that's even MORE money you gotta shell out. To be perfectly honest I have a love/hate relationship with hip belts. I totally get their worth from personal experience, but other times I want to just throw on my backpack and go. More importantly, to look as unobtrusive as possible.

"Unparalleled." Really? I think not. I suggest checking out Mystery Ranch packs.
Why? Because of America. That's why. I fucking love you guys!
I always put my phone, wallet and passport in the slant pocket after watching this video 3 years ago
Love #goruckForeverLiterally
This video is so good, I bought one immediately
21L or 26L for EDC?
I love that lionsteel sr1!
The laptop screen should facing your back or does not matter? Some brands mentioned that the screen should face your back!
thats boots are a red wing iron ranger
For half the price you could buy another FANTASTIC backpack from RecycledFirefighter “The Chief” which is 21L 19” tall...and I love it!!!
Ugly, and it too is overpriced.
Not gonna lie I wasn't thrilled with Recycled Firefighter. I respect them for making their bags in the USA but that look's just not for me
I'll stick with my REI ruckpack am a minimalist I travel very lite plus I had this bag for 4 years going back and forth to China 🇨🇳
And it was $118
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT IS THE PRICE?!??!??! HOLY JESUS!!!
Can I for a 17inch Alienware laptop in the gr1 26L or gr2 34L?
Can someone explain what the point of carrying a metal slab around is for? Is it just for intentionally carrying weight for exercise?
Yes.
Shoes...awesome
T-shirts...soft
Note pad… blank
"then I got keys. Easy access so I can what? Get back into my house" hehe awesome
300 bucks for this bag?
Lmao its $395 now.
@@bobinasack As of October 2022 $335 (and you can find 10% off coupons so just about 300 bucks again)
@@9to5Drone where did you find those coupons? I can’t find one anywhere
Can this fit a 17inch laptop
Are those Rockports?
But isn’t the fabric from overseas?
What size are those boots that takes up half of the GR1 backpack.
Antonio Botello I think they are red wing iron ranger boots
"Cuz America ,, that's why !" Where are Goruck's bags made right now? Lol. C.R.E.A.M. You don't know what that means , look it up.
It's a nice bag. However it's way too expensive.
Not if it's the last ruck you ever buy ...
They raised the price to $395 not too long ago
I didn't see much to justify the 400$ price tag - you can get a backpack with same features for less than 100$

What kind of boots are those and where can I find them anyone?
Red Wings Iron Ranger. Good Stuff. I own two pairs.

I was about to pull the trigger on this bag until I realize it is now made in Vietnam. Super disappointing.
There are USA built and Vietnam built bags. Reviews of the Vietnam built bags say they're identical.

Craig Houdeshell you can bag a waist strap for like $40. There point is so it’s minimalistic and customizable to how you want it.

Iron ranger boots.

TOO EXPENSIVE
Don’t make them in the us anymore. And lol this video is a joke
