I acquired a GR-1 26L based on your recommendation. I was looking at the M23. I saw your video on that subject too. AND YOU’RE SO RIGHT, Clamshell vs top loader! Glad I went with GR1. Keep up the good work! Thank you👏👏👏
Great review Sir! I've had my GR1 26L for over 6 years now and have used for travel and EDC (still do). You hit on something that some criticize, the lack of pockets, that I agree is a bonus. I can arrange my bag any way I need to. I've added a velcro panel to the interior that I routinely attach a Maxpedition cube for 1st aid stuff and a small Vertx Tactigami panel for a fixed blade Morakniv and Olight. I've also added small molle pouches to the exterior for things that I need on a daily basis, e.g. laptop charger, readers, etc. It's an incredibly well made bag; the only thing that I'm thinking about adding is a stiffer kydex sheet or a bullet proof sheet. Keep up the great work!
Yes! That’s why I keep going back to the GR1. It’s simple, versatile and extremely durable. I’ve thought about upgrading the frame sheet as well. Just out of curiosity, what Velcro panel are you using? Thanks for watching!
I bought a preowned 1000D, and it's become my 2nd favorite bag. 15L Bullet is my favorite. The bag was mostly broken in, so the full 1000D isn't as rough as an original version. I will eventually sell it becuase I have enough black bags. I'm waiting for the ranger green or coyote versions to come back.
I really like the 15L bullet as well. Was thinking about picking up a Heritage Bullet soon, but debating GR1 heritage. Probably whichever one comes back in olive first. Love the coyote GR1’s, been waiting for those to come back. Kicking myself for not grabbing one when they were in stock.
@@Pack_roam I’d love to see a 16L Heritage Laptop Bullet! I had a Dark Oak 26L GR1. It’s a fantastic bag and the straps are perfect. The leather bottom hit my back in a weird spot, but that was my only complaint about the fit.I’ve only found one other person who experienced this, so it’s probably my body type or I got a weird bag. I kept the 1000D over the Heritage becuase the Heritage always looked full, but the 1000D was a little floppy. Apparently waxed canvas bags hold their shape better. I still think about buying another heritage just to see if the fit is different.
@@Duanewrites16L Laptop Bullet could be the sweet spot I’m thinking. I don’t own one, have to pick one up to test that theory. I’m leaning towards the GR1 26L heritage for now though, and hopefully don’t have the same fit issues you had. They’ve got black, navy and woodland in stock. Not interested in the woodland, already have too many black bags, but I’ve been contemplating navy. Dark Oak was what I originally had my heart set on, but I really like the olive too. What do you think of the navy heritage?
I got a used 1000d 26l slick and love it! I’m hoping they make a gr2 slick in 26&34l but I’m worried abt the new 210d back. How do u think it’ll be long term? Does it feel high in quality or do you think it’ll tear and rip after a year or two of use?
Feels durable to me. I think it’s going to be fine long term unless you’re dragging it on pavement. I’ve got it on my Rucker 2.0 and that bag gets used and abused. No signs of wear.
Very good review ☺️ I received mine in Dezember and it's now my favorite EDC . I can confirm everything but yes price is very expensive especially if you have to pay tax and costoms to get it to Germany 😅but for one time investment in a very very good EDC Rucksack it's worth every penny. 😅
@@Pack_roamAppreciate the prompt reply, thanks a mil. I have a couple of the micro ones but will pick up a medium, looks more useful, especially for that slot.
@@Pack_roamCheers. Just as an aside, really like the setting and grade of delivery. Not over the top/clinical presentation. Clean and professional as well as good, practical cutaways. You’ll no doubt get a lot bigger, and replying to comments will get heaps more labour-intensive, but it’s one of the key things us pleb viewers appreciate the most. Thanks again.
@@sham86ful Wow! Thanks so much! I appreciate the feedback. I enjoy making videos, and working to improve, and comments keep me at it. That’s really my favorite part, and I strive to respond to all of them. But you’re right, I definitely see how that can become a lot of work and even unrealistic for bigger channels.
The best GR1 review I’ve seen so far.
Thanks! Glad you liked it.

Great review, channel’s really coming together nicely.
Thanks! Much appreciated!
Great review. Big fan of your channel, keep em coming!
Thanks for watching! Will do!
Excellent review of this bag, even though it's out of my price range. I enjoy seeing what others carry.
Can find it used on secondary for around 200. It might not have the updated 210D backing but it’s still a solid bag
Thanks for watching! Totally agree. It’s an expensive bag.
@@Inkushu Some would even say that’s a good thing, preferring the original full 1000D design.

Awesome! It’s an investment, but it’s a great bag!
Have you had a chance to compare it to the GR2 26?
I have not. So many bags, so little time…😁 Eventually, that’ll be a comparison I do. Thanks for watching!
Hey mate, stellar vid. What size Topo Design accessory bag was that?
Hey! Thanks! That’s the medium size accessory bag from Topo Design.

@@sham86ful it’s a good size. I also have one in the large size. It’s too big, I don’t use it often.

I bought it and sent it back. Just didn’t work for me. They took it back with no questions asked
GORUCK is good like that. Just out of curiosity, is there something else you got instead then? What type of bag do you like?
Very helpful video
Glad it was helpful!
