just got the Heritage 21L Dark Oak version shipped over here in France. Asked them if they could mod it before sending it to me but i would have to return it to the USA for that. No way. i''d like to install molle on the side. tehy take $30 by molle line, so $180 for three line on each side + shipping costs... i think i'll mod it myself, probably not by sewing but by installing solid brass rivets to it. I guess i'll have to train first though 😅

Too much going on here. Love your videos, love your reviews, but this is a hard pass. Think it works well for you being a pilot but overall this seems to be overkill.

Think I’ll stick with my aer travel pack 3. Don’t see how this offers almost $150 value.

Nah. The PLCC feels too homebrew and since Pakolab lets people fully customize their builds, most of them are uncoordinated and ugly. I was grossly let down by that turtle shell. I tried the samurai as well and couldn’t get it to work for me. Too large to incorporate into my usual EDC & too small to use for EDC. After trying both, I truly think Pakolab is all hype. Evergoods & GR, to my fingers & eyes, feel more precise, coordinated & pro.

Boo The Dragon RULES! Don’t listen to FOOLS! The Dragon is WAAY BETTER THAN THE UNICORN TOO! Those side pockets absolutely have to compete with space for the main compartment. Go fly a kite. lol

JB did you do a video on the AER TP3 Small Ultra? I'll go back and search it but I travel a lot for work as you do and go through a bunch of bags. I am am looking at it hard for the next travel bag to add to the lineup.

Good list! Really nice bags. Except the EG one xd I'm curious about the able carry max edc and your reason for not liking it so much. I'm thinking of adding another bag. Duh And I found a niche I can fill. My backpack that goes with me and my carry on roller when I travel for work. Private it needs to be a smaller bag because European airlines don't allow the personal item bags US airlines do. But when I travel for work I have the additional size allowance. So a 25-28l bag that I can empty and use for going to the office or conference once I'm there. Now used the heimplanet transit line 28 for it. Loved almost all of it with the exception of getting my electronics out at security. The bannoch pro sadly doesn't have a pass throug. Might not be a deal breaker though. The edc max has. And that qap in the laptop compartment could have me leaving the cap1 at home and just a cap2 for work charger and gear.

Would love a PLCCv2. Definitely my most desired. Odds on Instagram are tough, though. I think the last lottery was 50 of 300+. But… makes the score that much sweeter when it happens.

Great list. I could see how the TB20 is perfect for someone like you, but I don’t think it’s a good bag for most people. It’s way too big and bulky. It just sits on your body like a board. I think it’s one of Evergoods’ worst products.

Some fantastic videos on this channel. I’m sad that Yeti bought MR (and that MR decided to sell, it takes two etc etc). It reminds me of the change Kifaru went through, when they dropped all the packs I liked. it’s rare that a brand gets bought out and things remain as they should. I’m also not a fan of large companies owning many brands, inevitably the attributes that draw a person to a smaller brand get diluted or washed away. I wonder if the continued availability of the Dragon 2.0 is partly down to consumers demonstrating their displeasure in the only effective way they really can. That said, I’ve just ordered one (Dragon 2.0, videos from this channel helped a great deal) as a last MR order. I’ll stick it with my 2011 3DAP (from back when MR accepted international orders) and my two ASAPs. Just wish I’d bought a Longbow.

Why would they now (Yeti design) put the internal sleeves on the front flap unlike MR where they are "in" the pack, making it far easier to unzip the pack to get into the main compartment. If you carry a Nalgene inside these for example, it's an extra step to take them out and put them back in. Just adds a frustration point if time is of the essence. I really don't like that MR sold out to Yeti. Yeti should stick to absurdly priced coolers. Now all the "Yeti Bros" will be rocking these.

Funny... I was toward the end of your video jotting down my own thoughts on the 1.0 when you started putting words to my thoughts as though it were a text to speach feature. Actually kinda freaked me out. Lolz 'Carrying various MR packs over the years as small as 15L and up to 107L on the regular, I've found the Dragon 1.0 fulfills a roll I didn't know I needed until I picked one up' I've finally put words to quantity that niche for my own reference. Corny as it sounds... EDC+. And I know you know what I mean now. Basically, a passible travel size with some serious capability. For my use case being about as remote as one can be for half the year, that OG(ish) Dragon accommodates the average EDC accoutrements, in addition to emergency medical kits and space eating Arctic gear, all while being able to stowe under the seat of a 737 (never had to use overhead storage), on board prop planes not having to be packed in the tail, and close at hand on helicopters and hovercrafts. Packed out, it's riding the bleeding edge for size acceptability under some seats in 737s, but still absolutely doable as long as the Stick-It isn't also packed to capacity. Move up just a bit to a packed out 3DAP, and you're over the line. A note I'll make on the side pockets of the 1.0 that 'everyone doesn't really enjoy' - When it's packed to capacity, it's SO nice being able to rip that hydroflask and drop it right back securely in place on the move without having to force it, as seen on the 2.0, or having to remove the pack to fight it in place. Wouldn't mind a white 2.0 for my Arctic excursions just for the cool factor, though. That'd be sick.

I’m MPL22 curious now that it’s available in yellow. I’m just not sure that it would supplant my MR Gallagator 25L. I’d love to see EG make a more full-on outdoor pack. Aside from the ability to attach trekking poles, it really needs a way to attach accessories on the shoulder straps. The narrow webbing they use for the sternum strap doesn’t lend itself well to a water bottle pocket or cellphone pocket.

Goruck is poor design. Poor back panel. 😂. Cost a lot for nothing. Better go filson.

I had this bag a few years ago before they made the backs ventilated, so it was all waxed canvas. It was entirely too hot for me to use regularly, so I gave it to a friend. Now that they have added a ventilated back panel to it, I reordered it last night. I loved the other bag I had, but it was just too hot. I also treat my G1000 Fjallraven bags with wax before using them so that they have some water and dirt protection. Thanks for the review!
