      I also hold my yarn on my middle finger. Very rare to see these days in videos. But I guess it comes from learning to crochet at 8 years old in the 70's...lol.

    Thanks for this beautiful pattern🙏🏾. I would like to learn how to stop the curling of the edges when I do my Tunisian work!! Thanks for all your patterns and your help.

    • @sallyshott4419
      @sallyshott4419 2 роки тому

      The curling gets a little better with a larger hook & looser stitch. You cannot get rid of it completely unless you alternate with a reverse stitch (from the back), such as a reverse knit stitch.

    Glenda, You have an excellent Tunisian stitch pattern library combined with tutorials, and that is such a bonus for beginners such as myself. I hope to try and learn a few stitches this year, and also find just the right variety of afghan and Tunisian hooks without breaking my budget. You have a unique collection of hooks, and i have viewed some of your amazing Tunisian and cross stitch projects over your crafting history, and I am in awe. You continue to inspire us every day. Thank you for your wonderful channel presentations.

      One of the least expensive ways to have both many sizes and lengths might be to buy an interchangeable Tunisian hook set--there are some that are less expensive and would give you a wider variety.

    Oh, what great timing! I just attempted my first Tunisian crochet night before last and fell in love with the look and the easy of doing it even though I was using a regular Bates needle just to see if Icould do it. I made a lovely washcloth ( may be just a tad small, but with a short needle I did what I could). So guess what, I ordered a set of Tunisian needles on Amazon and am so excited for them to get here. I will be rewatching when my supplies arrive, thanks Glenda! God bless, be safe and stay well! (GREAT TIMING!)

I recently made a scarf with Tunisian needles, it turned out great, very soft. I like it very much, will definitely do something in this style again.

      Go up a hook size or even 2. Tunisian is very prone to curling due to working all the stitches on one side of the work. Going up in hook size will help to alleviate this issue.

    Thank you so much Glenda! I love how you teach so slow and detailed! This is a beautiful stitch! I noticed the samples curl a bit though. How do you get that curl out to lay flat and also if making a big blanket do you need to get the hooks with cable wire or will they all fit onto the 14 inch hooks?

    • @CreativeGrandma
      @CreativeGrandma  2 роки тому +1

      I always use the 14 inch hooks, but if making a larger blanket you might like the cable hooks better. The curl is just something that happens and is usually fixed when you put a border on the afghan. Sometimes a larger hook helps a little. It is just the nature of this stitch to curl.

      I bought hooks with cord which spin to untangle themselves. Look for coupons and sales as all the hooks I found with spinning cords are expensive. I bought Tulip Carry-T hooks, but the Clover Tunisian and Chiaogoo Tunisian hooks are great. Chiaogoos come with the red cords which people like but they don’t spin. You have to buy the clear cords for spin, no matter the name on the hooks.
