Omgosh! This stitch is fabulous!it is easy, it is dense, and I love the back. But most of all, I love how the top row can be finished as is. No need to do the top slip stitch, unless you are adding a border, or are particular about a matching chain- I like the different top.
I'm just learning Tunisian Crochet but already love it. No curl! I love it!
This may be odd, but of the crochet videos I've watched, you are the only one to hold the yarn in between your index finger and middle finger like I do. That's how my mom taught me, and my grandma taught her.
I've actually heard this from so many people! I thought I held mine so weird but am finding out I'm not alone. :) Love it!
So pretty...looks similar to the waffle stitch in regular crochet (which I love 😻). I do enjoy working Tunisian stitches, and can't wait to try this one...big, big, b-i-g plus is the no curl 😳. Thank you for the tutorial.🤗
I’m so excited to try this!
Beautiful stitch can't wait to make a throw afghan with it thank you for the pattern!!❤❤❤
I highly recommend trying Tunisian crochet with variegated yarn, for dishcloths. It mixes the colors up and they just shimmer and move in and out of each other, it's fun to make and fun to look at the finished product!
This looks so fun and also beautiful. I’m going to try it the tunisian stitch and see how it goes!😅
Let me know if you have any questions!
I love this stitch. Working on the Quinn blanket right now.
It's become one of my favorite stitches. :) Happy crocheting!
Thank you! I'm new to Tunisian crochet and I've been looking for the stitch I want to make a warm cardigan. I think this is it! No curl and even the right side edge is perfect instead of stretched out looking like other stitches I've tried. I was getting really frustrated with the ride side edge thing. Thank you for keeping me from giving up on TC!
I'm so excited to try this-- I've been keeping an eye out for my next tunisian crochet project, and this is it! Thank you for a clear, easy explanation!
I have learned simple stitch. Now this is my next one to learn. I'm making a wrap with simple stitch for my cruise. Thank you
Beautiful. Saving for future project right now.
Thank you! :)
Me too! ❤
I'm liking your style of teaching . Thank you. New Subscriber here. 😊
Awesome, thank you so much! :)
I can't wait to try this. Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us❤
Glad you are excited, Michelle! I don't think I could stop sharing if I tried. :)
Stunning blanket! Thank you for sharing. I would love to see you use the cable because I am busy trying to make a jersey for my 10 year old son and I tried to make one with 40 chains with a normal crochet hook😖
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS ❤
Yay! Me too. 😄 My passion and my hobby.
This is beautiful. I just happen to have that yarn. Look forward to making this.
Yay! I love it when that happens. :)
Beautiful! Great work ❤
i am loving this. much love from norway
Im almost done with this blanket i love it.
Yay!!! :)
I would love to try this
What a great stitch! Thank you. I wonder- would one be able to use it diagonally as in a C2C or dec & inc at the edges? So often we learn new stitches but including how to inc & dec r never included! This seems to be a sturdy stitch so I have visions of “going diagonal” but my mind is shy trying to do it… Be great if a precedent were set?! Please😊❤️J C in Australia
This is Beautiful where do I find the Border please ❤
How many balls of yarn for the border please
Would I be able to achieve a king of queen size blanket with that hook and the extension wire or would a longer wire be needed
You make this look soo easy. My mandala isn't showing the stitches as well as yours.
Hmmm I wonder why. Are you using a darker colorway maybe?
@ICanCrochetThat I'm using the color way chimera
I don't consider it dark. But it is a bit darker than yours.
I'm also using cheap wood hooks I got off Amazon. I think I need to invest in some metal ones. Cause the yarn isn't sliding over the hook smoothly
Can you please show the back of the blanket as well, so I can see whether I'm doing it right or not. Thanks.
I’m a beginner I’m going to try this after I get my other stuff I’m making done but how do you change colors if you don’t have that kind of yarn
Very VERY nice tutorial❤But What happened to the border? You mentioned it but didn’t illustrate it.
Thank you! The border is in another video. Here you go: ua-cam.com/video/OjXO5uQxVP4/v-deo.htmlsi=-25sYXPG3aoUuZxg
How many stiches across and how many rows, what is the finished size
@Icancrochetthat where can I find the 2nd video on the border?
How do you get a bigger size? I don't understand, I'm sorry, but I have just started learning Tunisian crochet and I only have a 10 inch Tunisian crochet hook. I want to learn so bad.
How many balls of Mandala yarn do you need for rhus camping blanket?
You'll need 4. Here's the free pattern with all of the details: icancrochetthat.com/no-curl-tunisian-crochet-camping-blanket-pattern/
I CANNOT figure out "back bumps"
Hi Jessica! After you do your chain, turn it over and you'll see the little back bumps. You'll insert your hooks in those and not the chain. I have an up close picture of the back bumps in this post: icancrochetthat.com/tunisian-crochet-rainbow-blanket-pattern/
Neither can I.
@@alisonjohnson1701 I show it up close in this video. Hope that helps! ua-cam.com/video/eaAXdvxzxhc/v-deo.htmlsi=IOUmatxsvnQ8eMDA&t=130
You can just go into the the chain in the normal way going into the back loop is just. craze I go into the front chain it's works out fine
Some people hate it so much! I love it and even do this with regular crochet. I know...I'm nuts. :P
I find it easier for me, if I'm going to go thru the back bumps. To use one size hook up from pattern hook. It's easier to thread the back side then. That's my helpful hint, hopefully. 😉
Beautiful!!! How many chains for the blanket
Thank you! It's 215.
Hi Why is it so hard to do the first row in the back bumps. Chain row keeps getting too small to get the hook in. Using exactly same hook and yarn. HELP.
Can you show me how to do the border
Is this the same as the old afghan stitch? I never could get it to work on a regular crochet hook: the stitches at the beginning (right side)of the hook ended up really loose, while the stitches on the left side were too tight. I'd love to do a baby blanklet for my great-grandson in this stitch, but don't think I could get that many loops on one hook. Suggestions?
I have the same problem with the stitches, but I found a long crochet hook at Hobby Lobby that should be long enough to make a blanket for MY great-grandson. Or you could try to find a hook with the cable like the one she has. I don't know if that will solve the problem of the loose right-side, tight left-side stitch issue, but give it a try. BTW, the half double is my favorite stitch, so I'm eager to try this pattern.
I’m in shock-there’s no curl??? OMG!!!😲😲😲
can I use ice cream big scoops for the blanket
I think that would work! I would do a swatch first though.
May I ask how many cakes you used?
I'm sorry...I found the answer in the comments. I should have started there lol
Hi how could I do this if my blanket is 110cm wide thanks
Do you mean with what hook? You'll need a Tunisian crochet hook with a long cable attached. I go in depth here: icancrochetthat.com/best-tunisian-crochet-hooks/
How many chains for the throw blanket
115 chains. Here's the free pattern for you with all of the details: icancrochetthat.com/no-curl-tunisian-crochet-camping-blanket-pattern/ Let me know if you have any more questions! :)
So where do you find the pattern for this afghan?
Here you go! icancrochetthat.com/no-curl-tunisian-crochet-camping-blanket-pattern/
How long is the cable that you used?
I used one that was 32" long
