This is the first time I’ve ever seen this stitch, and I cannot imagine how the person who originally made this stitch even thought of it. I watched till you got to the third row and it just doesn’t even look like something that would be fun or relaxing to do because you were so busy concentrating the whole time it’s a beautiful thing that you do but it just wouldn’t be for me. Thank you.

@sharbear1968 I agree she seemed very focused on the stitch. The FP could be very soothing and relaxing on a longer row. As for the RP it might be easier to think of yo pull through loops until the next vertical bar from below. The bean stitch is created between the vertical bars. " I Bean I Bean I Bean I . . . . " Hopefully, by removing the 1, 2, 3, 4 count, the mental strain will be less.
Yes, the enjoyment factor is personal, validated, and respected.
I'm raising my glass to all creaters.

Should I use a larger hook for that first row?

This is a personal choice. It may help with keeping a looser edge, depending on your tension and can be used on virtually every project. I find this trick very useful and use it all the time.

Where did you find the metal 7mm Tunisian crochet hook with cord?
    Love the stitch

I got them from AliExpress: bit.ly/49GggNE I love that they're metal because they just glide through the stitches, but the cord starts to come off pretty often. I have to keep reattaching it, which is a little annoying!

I have the ones from AliExpress too and they are awesome. I've had no issues with the cords coming off. The cords do swivel so using the key to tighten them up may help. This is a great set at a great price.
