- The second installment of our "LA Icon Series" features John Densmore, drummer of the legendary band THE DOORS.
He and long-time friend and our host Rex Weiner go on a journey along the LA River in Frogtown to meet and interview some of the creative community that live, work and make art in the neighborhood.
All the while discussing John's latest book "The Seekers: Meetings With Remarkable Musicians (and Other Artists)"
We're soon going to start losing a lot of these 60s musicians to the abyss of endless time. What a treasure this is.
It's sad isn't it? Time waits for no man. We have to enjoy these greats while we can.
This statement needs a lot more likes.
“ Our first drumbeat we hear is our mom’s heartbeat “ -
John, not only the great drummer for the incredible doors, also passionate intelligent man, keep always seeking John
I agree also too. All these Entainers are no fools. They're very intelligent people.
I dig both these fellas immensely.
Love my favorite drummer, from my favorite band the Doors, dear John Densmore!
Thank you.
cool method of interview.... there is a visual poetic view in this too landscape wise. couldnt but help think of morrison w/ the to & fro pulse & sound of the winding concrete hiway in the background. yet, right underneath the shallow creek & rockbed hinting back to the eternal. something morrison's eye love to note & contrast.
We were just biking here tonite! Fabulous convo
Great video.
I was watching an episode Beverly Hills 130 or whatever it's called, just Michele Philips of Mama's and Papa's & Knots landing. Plus John Denmore of all people appeared on the show.
❤️
It's cool to see that Densmore still has his percussion instincts firmly intact. Ty, for this vid. 'Pretty good, pretty neat' 😎👍
Glad you enjoyed it!

Where in LA is Frogtown?
Art is the intersection where we commune with God: u need not any guru; no hero to hold ur hand, nor any deep pockets to find soft asylum; our private ceremonies, painters in closets... our secret machines.
