Guitarist from UTA here, thanks for the reaction video! If I may make a request as far as power metal goes, check out the following...
Hibria - Millenium Quest
Angra - Temple of Hate
Lost Horizon - Sworn in the Metal Wind
Enjoy and keep up the great work! Cheers!
Dude I love your guys' music!
@@matthewbarba3530 Thanks brother!
I was thinking here what's "UTA" stand for, Then it clued in lmao. Love your albums though!
Dude... wow.... old metalhead here.. you guys/gal are just.. a fresh of breath air!! Jesus.. i cant get enough. Slayes vocals being so clear and power and you guys rocking the shizzle out of those strings bros... great scott man!!
Hey man I am a rock singer from Sydney, Australia and I just came across your band today you guys are awesome love this song and what a vocalist
Brittney Slayes is one of the most talented metal singers currently active.
And I really appreciate that. They didn't pick a female member for the sake of eye candy, but because she's fucking amazing. Not to say she isn't beautiful, because she is, but I like that they put ability first. Because there have been bands where I genuinely wonder why they have a member in the group aside from their looks.
what a fuckin appropriate last name she has !
Archenemy makes me think of this.....saw a video of theirs long ago and the lead scared me. Saw a recent video and the lead looks like eye candy.
Arch Enemy had a change of lead. Angela Gassow stepped down, Alissa White-Gluz took over. Alissa is a lot more attractive than Angela but she got the spot for her vocals.
Yeah, and Rob Halford sings kinda good as well, even for a band who didn't pick the singer for his looks.
Part of their allure to me, is the fact that they don't present themselves as a female fronted band with Brittney in the spotlight; they appear as very much a sum of their parts and that confidence just leaks into the quality of their music. Master musicians, amazing band.
Luke Somerville well put! I agree wholeheartedly!
Great point.
Agreed. I am a guitar player and Scott's drumming amazes me. That guy has some killer chops on the kit.
Also, the thing about female-fronted metal bands is that they all seem to be locked into a kind of melodic, symphonic style, and they all sound rather similar, which makes bands like UtA and Arch Enemy where they just go all out on the vocals all the more unique and awesome.
‘’master musicians’” is a perfect description. Well said Luke!!
"Chariots of Fire" is the song you were trying to think of at the beginning.
Exactly! (by Vangelis)
Or the noise that the 6 Million Dollar Man got when he did something special...
I think this is the first time I've had to stop your reaction vid and go check out the actual music video immediately. Great song! Thanks for turning me onto this band I would never have listened to otherwise.
Getting to see them soon in Brooklyn with two other incredible bands. Hellion Prime and Striker.
Dude the entire Apex album is fucking phenomenal. It was album of the year, like there was no filler tracks on that album and the fact there was a story being told throughout the album made it that more awesome!
Nice lineup indeed! Enjoy the show!! \m/
Listen to Cleanse the Bloodline and 1 vs 10,000 from the same album, both are amazing tracks
As a fan of power metal I never even realized this band was power metal. The name always sounded like it was a hardcore/metalcore band so I stayed far away from it.
HOLY SHIT!!! How the hell have I been missing this band?!?!?
Kevin Mills They flew under my radar for quite sometime as well. I discovered them about 2 months ago and have been catching up. Hopefully they’ll gain some popularity cause I think they deserve it.
Garotte14 I'm getting ready to start working thru their catalog too.
Kevin Mills IMO Apex is definitely their best, but holy shit- the entire catalog is great
that!!!!!
I think awakening introduced them to a lot more people
Almost all reaction chanels reacted to it and a lot of people saw it
I also found out a month or so ago
Listened to all the albums and demos
And they for sure deserve my love
Apex album is the best imo
"I'm tired FOR them!" I had to laugh after that. Love this song.
you need to do more Unleash the Archer songs, this band really deserves to be shared by any way possible as they are extremly under rated in my opinion.
AMON AMARTH - TWILIGHT OF THE THUNDER GOD
Fucking YES!!! I want them to revisit Amon Amarth so damn bad and Twilight of the Thunder God would be a great one for that. Plus, they need to have something to switch to while driving when Vegas has lightning storms on the horizon near the mountains.
Twilight would be great ... Raise your Horns also for the cleaner vocals
Under the Northern Star
Varyags of Miklagaard
This needs to happen!
Thanks fellas for doing this song. This song is meant to kind of kick you in the face when the album starts (it's the opening song).
Their song Apex is what you are looking for. It has all of pace changes, transitions, etc. that you are looking for.
Saw this on your Patreon page and it made me sign up. Would love to see what you think of their song Apex.
Thanks again!
I totally agree. I think the other good choice would be tonight we ride but thats jsut becasue I fucking love those sustained high notes Slayes hits right at the begining.
Definitely, this reaction turned me on to the band and now Apex is my fav song on the album.
Yeeees! Apex is a much much better song!
Awakening is my second favorite on the album, after Apex. Apex has a clear Maiden inspiration but it has some slower sections which really showcases just how incredible of a vocalist Brittney is.
Freaking. Finally. One of my favorite tracks from one of my favorite bands. You said it correctly. The band has no apparent “weaknesses”, from a talent, writing or synchronous standpoint. The album
Is a concept with a beginning, middle and end. I’d challenge you to listen to tracks like “The Matriarch”, “Shadow Guide” or “Cleanse the Bloodlines” with this. It’s a full blown story. And easily one of the best albums from this genre I’ve ever heard. Period.
I've been listening to metal for almost 20 years, spending hours and hours trying to discover new bands, etc... And you know what guys? This is the third band I discover here on your channel. These guys are talented! Thank you LIV!
I think you should try some Scar Symmetry ;)
What where the other two?
If you want to hear another iconic power/progressive metal band, I suggest *Symphony X* . As for song choice, that's a tough one. Maybe *Inferno (Unleash the Fire)* - it's under 6 minutes long and completely representative of their style. This is an essential listen in your path of metal discovery for sure. Also, this band does write pretty structured songs, so it feels more normal to the ear and not overwhelming.
+💯
I would suggest they begin with Of Sins and Shadows. The perfect introduction, IMO.
May I suggest just go balls out and listen to The Odyssey all 24 minutes😁
My personal pick for a great Symphony X introduction would be V: the New Mythology Suite.
Josh Geiger I don't know. Paradise Lost was a kind of divisive album amongst some older Symphony X fans mostly due to Russell's heavier vocals. I loved it though. Still, songs like 'Evolution (the Grand Design) or' Communion and the Oracle from V have been good starting points for friends I've introduced to their music. And they are freaking fantastic live!!!
Before all thrash, before power metal, there was: ACCEPT - Fast as a Shark
The original face melter!
I'd love to see them review some classic Accept. I do think Udo's voice is a bit rough on the ears the first time you hear it. But these guys love great guitar riffs, and Wolf Hoffmann is the riffmeister. I think Metal Heart or even Balls to the Wall would make it on their playlist.
Yeah, but I think his voice matches the music well which they're usually keen on. Also I think the intro to Shark would be hilarious.
@@grinhost9460 don't get me wrong. I love Udo's voice. But I do remember hearing it the first time thinking "wtf?". It's like Bon Scott gargling rocks. But it a great way.
Hell yeah
I think this is the first time I've seen a drummer actually doing the RRLLRRLL thing on the bass drums. I've read about it, but to see someone actually DO it throughout an entire song... weird. Cool but weird.
I also think you folks need to consider, that this is the kind of stuff a powermetal fan puts on repeat. And when you put something on repeat, you'll be GLAD that there is so much going on that you can't even comprehend it all the first time you hear it. You'll discover new details for weeks when it's this good.
Aaand I'm off to find this album.
I love these guys. There’s no words to describe how majestic her voice is and yet be so damn powerful. And the insane guitar and bass and drum playing, goddamn they’re incredible.
Yes! More power metal keep it coming! Helloween, Hammerfall, Gamma Ray, Avantasia, Edguy, Nightwish, Manowar, Blind Guardian. These are probably the biggest most recognized bands of the subgenre.
Derek D absolutely right! Agree completely with your comment.
yes.
Don't forget Kamelot and Rhapsody lad
Don’t forget Iced Earth
And Hammerfall, Grave Digger, Running Wild, and Angra.
Apex was my Album of the Year for 2017. The entire album is AMAZING!!!
Kylie McInnes for real, no misses on that album, I’ve been binge listening it for the past 6 months
Its become my favorite album of all time! And for as great as the musicianship is the story Brittney tells is what really did it for me
Hands down
Only just disccovered them watching this last week. I seriously can't stop listening to this album!!!
It was mine too, and I didn't like much of the band's previous output. This is their best work and I can't wait to hear what they do next.
as a musician and a long time watcher of your channel, i really wanna complement just how far your music analysis commentary has come. its always been dope, genuine, and entertaining, but the shit yall pay attention too and comment on now (across all genres) in terms of musical dynamics/pitch/volume control, etc... just, respect :)
Ryan, learn guitar already!!! telling you you'll love it. i promise :)
Agree completely; they highlighted nuances that are noticed and pointed to in a very unbiased way, and still gave us their emotional color and avoid a bland review. An excellent mix of fact and feeling, and in my opinion its what sets Ryan and George above other youtube reaction channels.
Absolutely - reaction channels are a-dime-a-dozen right now, but what separates the better channels from the lesser ones is the addition of some actual skilled criticism and analysis in addition to watching an all-too-often bland and over-acted facial expression and the occasional gasp or giggle for the duration of the song. And when it comes to the quality of criticism and analysis, Lost in Vegas are the best of the best!
There was a time when you could count on actual metal journalism to do this sort of thing, but the days of professional, quality metal journalism seem to be a thing of the past. Its spirit lives on with Lost in Vegas, as the best metal commentary I've seen since the height of metal's popularity in the 1990s....
These guys are the BEST, aren't they? Analysis on point, and hysterically funny - that digression over the synth at the start KILLED me.
I think that this song had the longest time by you guys when you didn't stop the song. You were into it! Best channel out there right now.....
This was a great reaction! As you guys are learning more about metal, I am, too. I am learning new artists, bands, genres and sounds with you guys so I appreciate this channel so much as I have needed new music for so long. Keep being open-minded. You guys are getting far already. I can't believe how early I was subbed.
If you'd like to check out more female fronted metal bands here's some suggestions:
Lacuna Coil - Heavens a Lie or Tight Rope
Nightwish - I Wish I Had an Angel or Dark Chest of Wonders
In This Moment - Adrenalize or Blood
Semblant - What Lies Ahead
Huntress - Zenith (RIP Jill)
Jinjer!!
Triosphere!
Okay, yeah, thanks for the suggestions!
I've been listening to this genre almost exclusively for decades, and this channel still plays bands I've never heard before. Agreed completely on everything in your comment!
Vektor-"Rechargimg the void"
yep
YES
or Havok
More like, Vektroid
🤓
*Recharging the void, But yes they are one of the best new Thrash bands in my opinion.
I've been listening to metal for 20 years, and I've never heard of this band. Thanks for introducing me to this band guys. Keep up the good work!
I am glad you guys got to hear this...I absolutely love the vocals, instruments and as a musician myself the ability to compose it...I had written you all a long post introducing you to this but had to delete it when I searched yur archives and found this...THANK YOU!!
Adding this shit to my playlist never thought I'd like any power metal but damn that was clean and so amazing
Unleash the Archers are amazing. Man musically when you compare this album to their first. It's like wow what a difference. They've gotten soooo good!
When you hear Cleanse The Bloodlines... Yeah, respond back because that shit is crazy.
Check out their song "Test Your Metal" from a previous album. Gives you more of how her Metal voice sounds. In fact, I'm gonna go do that right now, again.
Yeah. check out the full album, a lot of great stuff on there.
Agreed...Very good stuff for what it is!
Kamelot - March of Mephisto is a good intro to them.
Kamelot all day, every day.
Agreed, Black Halo for sure!
Agreed, or maybe The Human Stain
Elizabeth Trilogy, any fucking day.
Kamelot and Unleash The Archers my 2 favorite power metal bands... Kamelot live is one of few bands sound better note for note.
I LOVE your reaction to this song! Everything you expressed about them was spot on! Beautiful!! ♥
Thanks guys - this is definitely one of my most favorite bands of the past few years, loved your reaction. Definitely do some more of their songs!
Unleash The Archers - Tonight We Ride 🙂
matriarch!
time goes on is also awesome
Seconded for tonight we ride!!!
That, or cleanse the bloodlines :D Bit darker lyrically but I love it
"Test your metal" or "Apex" and definitely "Time stands still"
Every time I listen to this song the only thing I can say afterwards is just: “Woah.”
You are finally doing this. This is amazing! You are going to LOVE this! I am happy. :-)
Cheers from MTL! never gets old to watch you guys !
Rivers of Nihil-Where Owls Know My Name
Matt Tosic or The Silent Life
Rivers of Nihil is such a crazy good band...
Underrated as fuck.
🖤 those guys.
Or Hollow... I'm not gonna lie I got emotional upon reading the lyrics.
Rivers Of Nihil are just something else....
Silent Life. It's pretty saxy.
If you guys are still on a power metal kick you gotta do Sabaton! Screaming Eagles is fast and intense (first song I ever heard of theirs and def my all-time fav from them), Sparta would be great too!
Ghost Division is also a classic that they start all their concerts with, and Attero Dominatus is really fun too. Def worth a listen! For slower ones Panzerkampf or Uprising would be good.
I think it would be amazing for them to do Primo Victoria on June 6th of next year to pay tribute.
SHIROYAMA!
Inmate 4859. Great song and an amazing true story. I think they'll be impressed with it.
Primo victoria!
"Screaming Eagles" was the first song for me also. Blew me away. The video was so intense. Fan ever since.
Fabulous reaction video. I'm so glad you were as blown away as me.
I love this channel and how I get to find new music and new bands that I never would’ve heard. Because of this channel I am now a fan of power metal. Keep up the great work guys.
A Perfect Circle - TalkTalk
Tool - Vicarious
Volbeat - Still Counting
Puscifer - Telling Ghosts
Blind Guardian - Imaginations From The Other Side
I'll repost this until the cows come home if i gotta :v.
Savatage - Hall of the Mountain King, White Witch or 24 Hours Ago
Yes
Hell yeah or even Gutter Ballet.
Hell. Yes.
NIGHTWISH-Ghost Love Score live Waken 2015- beyond amazing!!!
Why is there no lost in vegas reaction to any Nightwish song? Especially Live in Waken- Ghost Love Score- Floorgasm for sure...
They did GLS on patreon. They didn’t really dig it. They’re not fans of operatic vocals so they’re not really going to like Nightwish.
Fred Albrecht I don’t remember. Not a current subscriber to their patreon so I can’t go back and watch it. I personally don’t think they’ll like Nightwish. They don’t like operatic vocals and fantasy themed lyrics. Although I would’ve had them do something like Song of Myself or maybe She is My Sin.
Fred Albrecht but she still does operatic style vocals. I love Nightwish but I understand they’re not for everyone. You could do a complete departure from the bands normal sound and have them do Yours is an Empty Hope.
As much as GLS is reacted to these days, for some I really think Romanticide, Song of Myself, Dark Chest of Wonders or Ghost River are better introductions from that concert - its about expectations...lure them in then hit them with GLS
WOW, My by a long-shot favorite band of the 21st Century, I have been to Vancouver several times just to see these guys, I went to their Apex album release show last year..... it was epic! Just a cool group of individuals. I never ever thought I would see this mash-up.... I hope you guys like.
Nightwish - Ghost Love Score (Live Wacken 2013)
But.. Tarja left long before 2013. That's not Nightwish.
Nightwish is mostly Tuomas :)
Yeeesss!!!!
The Live in Buenos Aires version is better in my opinion.
Nightwish - ANYTHING from the Once Album, but I think "Planet Hell", "The Siren" or "Ghost Love Score" are the best.
Great album !! Planet Hell for sure .. Tarja's the best
I hope if they do check out Nightwish or Epica, they do live videos, they do the bands more justice than just audio/music videos
Ghost Love Score or Ever Dream from the Wacken concert. I love Tara, but I love Floor more. 🙂
they wont like Tarja at all. I think they would like Floor ore Annette more.
I don't see them doing lives. I agree with you. Love Nightwish and Epica.
I know this is an old video but god I love watching your guys’ review of metal stuff!!! You guys are so awesome 👏🏼
I didn't know about this band until recently but they're in my playlist now. It's good to get out of my 70's to 90's bubble. I definitely get an Iron Maiden vibe from this. Her voice is awesome and the musicians are excellent and I can't wait to listen to more of them.
If you guys want more female fronted bands, there are a lot in symphonic metal. Good songs to start with: Nightwish - Ghost Love Score live at Wacken; Epica - Unleashed; Within Temptation - A Demon's Fate
U forgot arch enemy
Definitely Nightwish anything live at Wacken 2013!
No get started with Anneke era The Gathering. They basically invented that stuff.
That Wacken 2013 show of Nightwish's is phenomenal. Go for Storytime. Awesome performance and the video is easy to find on the 'Tube.
Personally I think Planet Hell is a better intro to Nightwish. Ghost Love Score is amazing, but for the same reason I wouldn't suggest Kingdom of Heaven by Epica as many are saying. It may be their best song but not for a first time listener. Unleashed is a better selection. My suggestion is A Cosmic Algorithm. If you're not familiar with that one give it a listen and tell me how anyone could listen to it and not become an instant fan.
Nightwish! Ghost Love Score (live at Wacken 2013)!
Great review. I like that you're checking out unfamiliar genres and giving honest, well-thought-out responses. This is a great track. To your point about not seeing a beginning/middle/end, this is the opener on a concept album. It's literally just the beginning. The story continues throughout, with a twist along the way, and is definitely worth your time.
She can wail, Right! She is freaking amazing. That voice is so powerful and controlled. Her tone is perfect and her natural range is just right for rock/metal. She sits naturally where most male singers have to stretch to hit.
I love her singing.
Ryan got difficulty for the structure in power metal but it s in fact one of the most constant way to compose of all the subgenre . Almost every song goes like this
1.Intro
2. Verse
3.pre chorus
4.chorus
5 .Repeat step 2-3-4
6. solo
7. Sometime a transition before of after the solo
8.Get back to chorus and repeat twice
9. Outro
Really simple once you used to this !
I think his point was more focused on the fact that the tempo and constant onslaught of the double bass rarely falters or changes... leads to a bit of a feeling of sameness after a while, and lessens the distinction between the sections of the songs.
@@bloodysmurf Your point makes sense ! For people not used to it, that tempo and melodies of the instruments are not easy to get . I think the vocal's a better reference point in that case . And power metal songs like this needs to be eard more than one time to really appreciate what's going on ! (Sorry for the really average english XD )
Be'lakor please. I'm surprised I never get any likes for this. I thought Be'lakor was a pretty well known band by now
Yea Be'lakor are great!
Be'lakor - From Scythe to Sceptre please.
Stone's Reach is one of my favorite albums.
Yes, please! Be'lakor is awesome! But, for your question: from within my circle of friends, Be'lakor is not really known... they are incredible, but simple not known enough :/
Some of the best metal these days is coming out of Australia. Be'lakor, Aversions Crown, Whoretopsy, Ne Obliviscaris, Black Rheno, Lo!, Thy Art is Murder... the list goes on.
Best metal band out there. I’ve watched you channel for a long time and was stoked to find this review from a few years back! Keep it up.
FINALLY!!! I've been requesting this for MONTHS.
More power metal please guys! HELLOWEEN - KEEPER OF THE SEVEN KEYS! 🎃
Eagle fly free would also be a nice first option
Gawd yes, so many greats by Helloween. Eagle, Twilight of the Gods, I Want Out, March of Time, Mankind, Someone's Crying, and the ultimate classic: Keeper of the Seven Keys.
Great suggestion!
mr torture
Yes! We need some Helloween reaction
Iced Earth next please!
Would start with either Burning Times or Melancholy (Holy Martyr ).
definitely Burning Times.
Dracula
@@WaterboyCaniac phenomenal song but not a good one to start with.
I have been requesting Burnt Offerings for 90 days in a row on their twitter.
@@genderlessperson I love that song even more but Burning Times is more known so that will probably be it.
5:56 "I have a job to do and I will complete the task" Lost it hahahahaha
It’s about time you did Unleash the Archers!!!! I only asked on each video you two have ever done!
I recently discovered them myself and instantly loved it. The singer has some spectacular power in her voice. I really liked their song, Tonight We Ride.
Brittney hooked me with Test your metal :)
This song/band is a testament to the talent pool that is Power Metal. It's a highly underrated genre.
(Please do Mikasa by Veil of Maya!)
A bit off the mark to call them strictly a power-metal band. In addition to that they also exhibit the classic old-school heavy metal sound (Iron Maiden, et al.) and speed-metal elements. If you really like this song you owe it to yourselves to check out the rest of the album, it's amazing.
I'd say it's right on the mark, actually: Iron Maiden were to have waited until today to release it's Dickenson-era albums, we'd be calling them a "power metal" band - the only real difference between what we might call "NWOBHM", "80's heavy metal", and "speed metal" versus modern "power metal" are the rather minor points of what year and what country the band got famous in. The newer bands are, perhaps, a bit faster, and the production cleaner and more modern, but the differences after that are relatively minor....
Which is no big deal, at least to me: just one of many examples of how wacky playing the metal subgenre game can get sometimes: it's rarely an exact science!
databloom70 um, Iron Maiden is arguably power metal (before power metal was a defined genre).
UTA is 100% power metal.
They are actually power metal, with some heavy metal influences. They also have melodic death metal influences.
all of the hallmarks of classic heavy metal are in power metal - it's just taboo for a band from North America to be labeled "power metal".
@@regor5150 No. Not 100%. They are less frequent now, but on Demons Of The Astrowaste the growls were way more common and they even had some deathcore/metalcore bits in there. So they have always been a Power/Melodeath hybrid.
I've seen a couple of your react videos now and you guys seem like it'd be really cool to hang out and just listen to jams all day.
You guys need to check out Nightwish and Epica.
Epica please!
I've been begging for them to react to Epica. Based on the comments on every video I think they'll go to Nightwish first, which is fine. But I also think they'll like Epica more. The Cosmic Algorithm is probably the best song to start with (not Kingdom of Heaven; that's like trying to get someone into Yes by playing Gates of Delirium instead of Roundabout. Or Dream Theater by playing Metropolis pt. 2, and we all saw how that turned out.)
Absolutely, my two favs
Universal Death Squad official lyric video would be a great intro too
Justin Vaughan while I do understand where you are coming from, it's not long songs they are turned off by. What turned them off from Dream Theater was the instrumental parts where the band goes off on a tangent playing all these technical extravagant parts which they felt did not add anything to the music, which in some ways they are correct. Kingdom Of Heaven has none of that. The song is a cohesive and epic song. However, it probably would be better to start them off on a song that is more brief and to the point. If the song is good enough, it should wet their appetite for more.
If I was to make a suggestion, I would pick Chasing The Dragon. That was the song that got me into Epica. Cant go wrong with that song.
Incredible performance from the band I was really amazed on how each and everyone of them was able to output and give their 110% in this by the way they all shined out there. The vocals and the guys behind each instrument displayed very high quality performance and I really enjoyed it. Shoutout to Unleash man and Kudos for the awesome reaction guys.
Thank you for highlighting the Archers!! Such an underrated band!
What I love about you guys is your honest appreciation of musicianship and music in general. Even on the songs you do not like as much, you can differentiate between what takes talent and what's plain bad. I wish we could kick it one day.
Wow! These guys definitely slipped under my radar. Pretty awesome
Chariots of Fire btw
Rock on LiV!
Baroness - Take my Bones Away
Come on, let's hit them with "Tower Falls" :D
Same here, Their one of those bands that you always see in the recommendations area when you click on a video that you want to watch and always decide' "Eh, i'll watch it later". And then you randomly click on it and are kicking yourself in the balls for not listening to them sooner. Because that's all I was listening to for about a week.
Check out Wilderun fam. They are my all time favorite, but unleashed the archers aren’t too far off. Their music is perfectly constructed in my opinion, and they need more support!
Btw way you were thinking of Chariots of Fire! Nightwish was probably the original female fronted power metal/opera metal band. “Wish I had an Angel” and “Dark Chest of Wonders” are excellent tracks. Also, the original kings of Power Metal were Helloween. Their first album, Walls of Jericho, was a straight thrash album, but their second & third albums, Keeper of the Seven Keys pts. I & II. You should check out “March of Time”, “Halloween”, and “Keeper of the Seven Keys.” They’re basically canon in the power metal genre. Last thing, you should seriously react to “Abraxas” by power metal legends Therion. It’s an incredible song!
Yes Chariots of Fire and the action sounds from 6 Million Dollar Man.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful band!
They are great live as well. They play very tight and Brittney sings just as clear and good.
TESSERACT - Of Matter (Live at Sphere Studios). Check these guys out! You really gotta!
not with Ashe as the vocalist. It's a different band altogether with his angelicism in the forefront.
SAVATAGE - When the Crowds are Gone
cheers!
Hall of the mountain king
'hall' has been way overdone
No it hasn't
Savatage was the band that introduced me to metal. When the Crowds are gone and Believe from the Oliva Era and Edge of Thorns and Chance from the Zac Era would be my suggestions for a first listen.
Gutter Ballet, as well
Unleash The Archers is the one band I must see live soon! Apex is one of the best albums ever made!
I just saw them a few weeks ago in LA after seeing this video which introduced me to the band. They were beyond stupendous and insanely fun to see play live. They're touring the states right now.
I can't wait! They are not coming around me. I would even fly somewhere to see them but the dates just haven't worked out yet.
@@ZillaFitness Definitely do, traveling will be worth it. I got lucky and saw them at a dive bar where the stage was super small and there were no barriers between the band and crowd. Maybe 75 people, super intimate! I'd love to see them in front of a massive crowd. They're so much damn fun!
IAm TheBlurr - if the world was fair they would be playing for huge crowds but selfishly I’m glad they don’t.
@@ZillaFitness They do normally play for huge crowds normally I believe. That's why I believe I got super lucky that the bar i saw them at managed to book them. They said that they were supposed to have a big show in LA scheduled but something happened to prevent it or it got canceled, so they just scheduled something smaller.
I agree, this band deserves a freaking medal
The Late 80s called, they want their metal back.
Seriously, dayum. Nice track.
If you guys want more in the vein of Unleash the Archers, I'd definitely recommend checking out 3 Inches of Blood (Deadly Sinners or Goatrider's Horde)
Also I must continue my sporadic one man crusade to get you guys to react to Black Crown Initiate, so...
Black Crown Initiate - Belie The Machine
Black crown initiate is dope
Deadly Sinners is so dope 😛
Amazing! Just amazing I've never heard of this band but it made my Playlist WOW
Second goatriders hoarde.
@@xarris37 Fear on the Bridge or my favorite DESTROY THE ORCS
Stoked to see you guys check out this band! Unleash the Archers are fantastic!
That was absolutely epic across the board!! George had to love the drummer!!
If you're interested in female fronted Power Metal bands Nightwish is definitely worth checking out.
Tyler Miller they're a must listen for any reaction channel. And they have to hear all 3 singers with a song of their era.
I think you guys would dig Symphony X - Set the World on Fire. It's got groove, melody, badass guitar shredding, and one of the best singers out there.
Love me some Sypmhony X. That or Sea of Lies would be great introductions to the band.
Definitely some Symphony X.
Dude song fucking rules that or into the fire by firewind
Something tells me these guys would be more into a song like Wicked off of the Odyssey album. Just my opinion though
BaptizedBurning I should give them a listen
I like how you're showing the video! Keep that up.
The red-haired guitarist whose face you barely see? That's Andrew Kingsley. Want your mind blown even more? He's got an *amazing* clean singing voice. He barely ever sings because he's such a good guitarist, but he's also a double threat. An yeah, there is no "best" member of UTA. They are all incredible. Super nice people and very accessible, too. They're from Canada, which is a country with 40 million people. Out of those 40 million, I'm pretty confident that if you assembled a list of the 100 most talented musicians in the whole country, you would find ALL FIVE of these people on the list.
Dig deeper and you will find more *layers* of awesome, too. The story that the dual concept albums of Apex and Abyss tells is mind-blowingly good with a lot of character nuance for the limited format of song lyrics. It's just nuts.
Unleash the Archers are from my hometown! Saw them in concert for the second time last weekend, they put on a killer show!
I’d love to see you guys react to some Atmospheric Black Metal, my favourite genre. It’s just such a beautiful and phenomenal genre packed full of limitless amazing bands.
A song I’d LOVE to see a reaction for is Oiseaux de Proie by Alcest. It’s one of my all time favourite songs and one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard AND IT’S METAL! I think listening to this style will really open a whole new door for you guys into the realm of beautiful, atmospheric and emotional metal.
Great stuff you guys, I love your videos so much. Best reaction channel on UA-cam, keep it up! 🙌🏻🤘🏻
I have never seen a reaction video to Atmosperic Black Metal, would love it too!
I'd suggest Eldamar - Spirit of the North instead though, it's awe-inspiring.
Nice reaction video guys , tanx a ton😎✌
I had to get up and run around my house like 12 times after listening to this video.
Me too. I just got back.
As a Black Metal dude, this album was my favorite of last year which was a big surprise considering some of the black metal albums that were released last year.
Power metal goes pretty deep. Usually you have it split in two with US power metal and EU power metal. US is a bit more serious while EU is more cheesy.
I'd recommend checking out Savatage - Hall of the Mountain King, Manilla Road - Necropolis (Whose lead singer sadly passed away two weeks ago), Slough Feg - High Passage/Low Passage, Riot - Thundersteel is an absolute must!
Regulator by Clutch.
i just discovered this band and their video for this song thru YT. man that girl can sing. i noticed you guys were so enthralled in how they play that you didn't stop to comment.
Every once in a while you guys feature a band I've never heard of and really enjoy. Thanks.
Blind Guardian - Imaginations From The Other Side
Helloween - I Want Out
Rhapsody - Epicus Furor + Emerald Sword
Stratovarius - Black Diamond
You guys should do an official playlist of the songs you liked on a streaming service like spotify, deezer or whatever.
This is a very good reaction. Watched all the Awakening reactions and this is one of the best.
Glad to see people who appreciate raw talent. The first song I heard from them I was hooked.
Guys, I must have screamed "Chariots of Fire!" a hundred times. Couldn't you hear me? Jeez...
Haha :D!
how can anyone forget a dude named Vangelis
Ozzpot I Thought that reference was fucking HILARIOUS, Chariots of Fire!!!!!! LMMFAO
If you think this was awesome and epic, you definitely have to check out Wintersun - Sons of Winter And Stars.
Theres everything you guys love about instruments, and maybe even vocals and are quite unique.
About time someone else suggested Wintersun! Sons of Winter and Stars might be a little much for their first Wintersun song though. Time or Star Child would be better.
@@JRHockney i would agree with you there, if it wasnt displayed on video. Im positive these guys will get pumped up even tho it is quite a long song.
Death and the Healing is a safer song for people who are not as into heavier metal though
Yeah but these guys are starting to get the hang of certain harsher vocal styles, especially Devin Townsend. I think them watching their live studio performance of Time would be best to get the most appreciation for their abilities.
i suppose you have a point, but i guess i just approach non-metal listeners more cautiously. i do the same thing for dubstep, can't show newbies shit like MONXX and Zomboy and Ghastly at first, way too hard, gotta ease them in with Seven Lions, Panda Eyes, Bassnectar, and GRiZ, and yeah, i know, i know, Panda Eyes and Bassnectar have harder tracks too, but i always start with their softer shit.
What an amazing world we live in today where two hiphop heads can introduce this metalhead to one of his new favorite bands that he would not have learned how to truly appreciate without them, and then end up going to see the band play as the first concert this metalhead goes to in the new state just moved to.
So crazy to reflect on... and this is not the first time Lost in Vegas has had an impact like this for me.
Damn I love this song!!!!!! Never get tired of watching all the reactions to it. Amazing!!!!
*_Opeth - Drapery Falls_* or *_Be'lakor - The Smoke of Many Fires_*
MORBID ANGEL - GOD OF EMPTINESS
CHAPEL OF GHOULS
It’s the dawn of the crucifiers......SUFFOCATION!
Bow to me faithfully, bow to me endlessly....too much for these guys.
Fist time ever listening to this band. They're amazing! Thank you guys.
Thank you guys for introducing me to this fantastic band! A lot of energy and heart out into this music. I’m now an instant fan!
By the way, Iced Earth is one of my favorite bands and I think it would be awesome if you guys have the songs Wolf or Damien a chance. They are both from the Horror Show album which is mostly an album about all the universal movie monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, etc...
