The bike looks great . I truly appreciate you being honest . I have a 15 lowrider i started looking at rwd and big bear choppers and there is a big price gap. Thank you again for being very honest on your build.
I wish I saw this 2 years ago. I can confirm every single thing you said in this video lol. Fitment, price and everything... but I do say my Dyna does look pretty dope. Even paying the price I did, I feel good that I supported my local parts shop at least 😅
I couldn't agree more with you about the RWD FXR fairing IN TERMS of the amount of work it takes to make it fit GIVEN it's supposed to be plug and play and total cost. I honestly don't understand why the fitment isn't better across the Dynas, Softails and Touring (Road King) chassis. Why can't the clearances/cutouts be better or at least much closer to plug and play? I can't begin to tell you how much I had to cut out of the bottom just to clear the turning radius AND I removed the upper fork cans. On top of that, the mold (2022) wasn't the quality I was expecting and the amount of prep before paint was exponentially more then they (website and phone conversation) led on. All in all I'm happy with the end result, but the amount of work I had to put in after already investing the $1,400-$1,500 for the kit, was insane. Therefore, I would say it's overpriced for what you get. Great video!
Sport tour build is my goal is well. This episode is why I bought the Sport Glide. Expensive bags & labor already there and they fit snug. Also no 1980 fairing. I realize it has its following. However the factory quick release fairing required Gustafson dart tint vented windshield plus lowers to get to both good coverage and no buffeting. Flip side is that some people prefer the mid controls that the LRS comes with. However HD sells mid controls conversion kit for those that prefer it. Both have inverted forks but a downside to the Sport Glide is that it only comes with a single disk although it does have ABS ie it’s a trade off. Fortunately you can now get a 15” brake for the SG which damn. The last trade off is the SG comes with the 107. In my case since I was going to build the motor in either case plus I prefer shorter stroke. Anyway been following your build and am looking forward to the rest of what you do.
H-D is telling people not to install these fairings. The MoCo wants you to buy their LRST version claiming that the front suspension is a little bit different to account for the additional weight of the frame mounted fairing. On your build, do you beef up the front suspension to make it perform better than the stock setup?
I was at your event on sunday, had a good time was trying to take a look at the low rider s. Where you put the tank bolt and maine bracket did you remove those lil plastic covers? Im having a hard time tightening mine down. Everytime i go over a bump that bracket moves slightly up and down and its an annoying sound. Might have to take her to your shop and see how we can tighten that bolt down right
A couple questions. First a great video with all the info. Thanks so much. 1, What are the other fairing manufactures. 2 and most important. How does the bike handle in regards with the wind. Hopefully like a Roadglide. After all that is the whole purpose. Thanks again for the great video.
Ive got a 2021 Sports Glide. Im thinking of getting this FXRS fairing for my bike. My question would be how tall do the handle bars have to clear the fairing? Thanks in advance
I have the same fairing on my low rider s. Needed 12” risers. My risers don’t have the 1.5” pullback like you can get on the Kraus risers. I’m not sure but you might be able to go an inch or so lower with the pull back.
Legit great videos man. Hard to find someone who will give an honest review. I have the IMZZ fairing and it’s great but definitely had some of the same issues but was able to work through them. Definitely expensive but worth it for the function and form.
Bike looks awesome, I debating on getting a new FXLRS an doing similar style, I currently ride a 92 FXRP, and a fan of the fairing, the other company is BMC that makes fairing kit for that bike, couple others are JD'S and V2H but I'm not sure if they have the correct brackets for the new softtails.
Great build, have you thought about relocating the gauges at all? With the rumors that Harley is possibly coming out with the LRS with this similar setup for 22 is interesting. I may have to buy it when and if it comes out.
I was so excited seeing that FXR fairing mount in the last video. Then, you say you paint matched it, and the fairing and bags are so much darker than the harley midnight crimson. Totally kills the bike for me.
had the same issue with my rwd fairing. The primer coating was pretty jacked, the body work dude had to strip it all off. Dominator carbon fiber would've been cheaper.
Sounds like RWD are not willing to make bike-specific mounting brackets, instead providing universal general fit brackets - albeit not manufactured with any real precision for symmetry. When they charge top dollar, they should be manufacturing with better precision. Thank you for the honesty.
use real tint. show us a video of an install on 14 up sgs please. do the work. its worth it i am using a rgs inner fairing dash chopped to accept head unit and small gauges. leave the tongue. -
All I gotta say is, THANK GOD FOR YOU REVIEWING THIS in such an honest way. You just saved me $1500!!!
And that doesn't include prep and paint.
Good for you , your customers will appreciate it. I'm thinking of getting the Klock Werks FXRP fairing. Great video!
Jd custom’s went on like a breeze!

That’s awesome… I’ve got the ST with the Rockford Fosgate speakers,., idk. I’d like a bit more.. can extra speakers be added ?
Any chance of a stereo install video. Where to tie in for wiring and whatnot. Thank you!

We appreciate the honesty on the fairing. I would love to have this fairing on my future LRS but wow that’s a lot of work.
I just installed the jd customs fairing with the imzz bracket and hardware it was very easy install and would highly recommend

I installed a RWD fairing on my 2022 FXLRS. No issues at all.

thank you for this Video, any way you can tell us where you got the vivid black head light clamp and the smoked head light plastic cover, thank you

Sell me your bags
Bike is amazing! To mount the bag, did you have to change the fender struts or just put in mounts for the bag?

Is this the RWD rear shock? If so, does it clear these bags? I want as much as lift as possible and worried the RWD shock won’t clear the LRST bags
hi man... just a question, i have fxlrs 20232 and just buyed sport glide bags... i want to know if they fit qith the stock exhaust... thanks
Hi, do you know if there will be a clearance issue if I put this on the low rider s with the stock pipes?
What size amp did you use man? 400 or 800 w. Thanks man 🤘
Super helpful video man! Very nice lookin install too! I sub'd and will be checking out more of your content for sure

Where was the parts painted? Cannot find anyone able to match midnight crimson locally.
Nice build!
It you hold the volume up and down button when the audio powers on, it may eliminate the voice prompts for phone pairing / Bluetooth connection.
had the same issue with my rwd fairing. The primer coating was pretty jacked, the body work dude had to strip it all off. Dominator carbon fiber would've been cheaper.
So there all loose like that. No other way to mount ? On the sport glide are they that loose too?
No
Do the bags rattle at all while riding?
Are those sport glide bags ? Or st bags ?
I just got shtyt facved drank ebert time you say “um”
How tall is the windshield?
Anyone have a fix for the rattle?

All this bike is missing is a nasty cam.
