      You won’t regret it and hope you enjoy it!! Besides liking grey as a color in general, the gunship grey was a different color for Harley. I didn’t want the typical colors they had. Wished they had the ST model at the time I bought the S, but that was during the time of the supply and inventory issues and this was all they had. Thank you for subbing to my channel and congrats on your new wheels and be safe!

    Great video for your first attempt (or even for an experienced UA-camr!). Love the sound of that exhaust! This is my dream bike, and almost exactly how I would have it configured. Only thing I don't like about these bikes is that huge stock air filter, and even the one you used - I'd prefer that flat one as the red wouldn't bother me. I'd also prefer twin bags for longer trips. Other than those small changes, she is awesome and great job for the work you did!

    • @rollinreaper

      Thank you! I agree on the air breather especially after having it for a while now. I should’ve gone with something like an Arlen Ness tear drop style or cage fighter. I was trying to somewhat mimic what came stock on her, but not interfere with my right leg as much. The other issue with having the cone shaped style- it’s a debris catcher. To your point on having bags- I would certainly recommend for long trips 100%! I had been looking around and just never quite found a particular style that sat well with me. If they had the Lowrider ST at the time I bought my bike, I would’ve opted for that, plus get the better looking fairing. I am getting my cruise control assembly installed in a couple of weeks as well as a custom dynamics LED light bar that will be hopefully mounted between the forks. I use the term hopefully, because the bracket assembly that came with the light is not meant for the bike, I actually bought it through a company called RickRak who was a vendor at the full throttle bike show in Greensboro, NC a couple of months ago. They assured me that that model light would fit my bike and unfortunately they were wrong. I called custom dynamics and they don’t make any light bar kit meant for the Lowrider. That has been my pet peeve since owning the bike. There are tons of options and accessories. It seems for many other models except the Lowrider. Nonetheless, I am looking at making a custom mounting bracket, but the challenge is finding a suitable place to mount it, and also clear my Memphis shades fairing. Overall though I love the bike and how responsive it handles! Thanks for stopping by to see my video and I am planning on doing another one after I get these mods done soon.

    I have the same bike! A lot of the same mods, I love the mini boards, I use jokers and I think they work great, I’m also thinking of putting that same quarter faring on but I wasn’t sure if it would look good with the grey but it does! Very nice!

    • @rollinreaper
      @rollinreaper  4 місяці тому

      It’s such a great bike and there are some cool things that you can do, but unfortunately as you’re probably aware, there’s not a boatload of different accessories out there for the FXLRS.
      I just had installed a 6 inch Custom Dynamics LED light bar on my triple tree, but the bracket assembly was not made for my bike. Admittedly, I’m not good with that stuff so I had my mechanic install that a couple of weeks ago. He had to
      remove the front wheel and tap threads under the triple tree for the bracket that holds the light bar to fit.
      Regarding the Memphis Shades faring I would say it is OK, but not great. It attaches to brackets you would mount to the forks and it doesn’t stay on very securely, but I never had it fall off. Buddy of mine got a Saddlemen faring that just came out which mounts to the frame- not the forks. It looks amazing, but it’s double in $$ compared to the MS one.

    • @rollinreaper
      @rollinreaper  10 місяців тому +1

      HaHa yeah my HD pet peeves got the better of me 😂 IMO that is a smart way to go. If I had to put an order which upgrades I would’ve done first, it definitely would’ve been getting the proper risers installed. I actually waited to do that last. I did pick up the cruise control assembly, which is standard on your year bike and I will be having my guy install that for me when he does my service soon.
      As far as the performance is concerned, save your money on replacing the air breather if you’re contemplating on doing so. If I had to say that I wasted money on a cosmetic thing, that definitely was it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the stock breather only for the exception of it slightly interfering with the inside of your right leg , when you have your legs stretched out. Definitely do the stage one and get yourself an exhaust that you’re happy with. I’m on the fence about doing that stage two because quite honestly, I really do like the power and torque that this bike delivers and I’m not so sure I want to drop a few grand down to make it just a little bit better. As you know, it’s all subjective at the end of the day no matter which direction you go. Be safe and thanks for stopping by to see my video!

      I can easily grab it while riding in the event I need to. When riding as it’s holstered on your hip, it makes it difficult to grab quickly. The mags I have tied to sissy bar I am showing off the Gear Ties I mention in the video as I generally carry those on my belt.
      My friend, this is America and not every state is firearm friendly, but where I live it is. I had a buddy of mine run off the road purposely with his old lady on the back and he was not carrying a handgun. If he were, he’d of been able to defend himself and her. They wound up with broken bones and several other injuries. Why not have the right to defend yourself in a violent encounter like that? That’s one of many reasons I ALWAYS carry my weapon riding my scooter or not.
      I follow a lot of MC news and other news from Australia and in Europe. Australia will jail you for jaywalking. I feel bad that your government favors perpetrators more than their victims, but the way it’s going here in the USA with this moron we have as “president” isn’t far behind. Sorry for the rant, but be safe and cheers to you as well and thanks for watching my video mate.

    • @rollinreaper
      @rollinreaper  3 місяці тому

      I’ll use the 13” more than I would smaller shield, because it definitely works as far as cutting the wind drag off of my head and face areas. Wind drag and buffeting I think are subjective to each rider. Also depends on what style or type of helmet you use.
      I’m not a huge fan of Memphis Shades because of how the fairing mounts to the forks. They could’ve done a better job with the design of the brackets which the fairing attaches to. Saddlemen now makes a really nice frame mounted fairing for the FXLRS, but it’s double in price compared to the MS one.

      @rollinreaper  Рік тому

      I’m embarrassed to say that I sold the stock seat once I got the Saddlemen seat that I mentioned in my video and ultimately bought the stock seat back. I did almost an eight hour round-trip ride with the stock seat, of course, stop in periodically to fuel up and to take some breaks, but I never once complained about it being uncomfortable what was uncomfortable was the fact that I had nothing to block the wind at the time because I had just gotten the bike. I did mention in the video my height and weight but I am 5‘10“ 195 pounds. I thought the 8 1/2 inch risers were actually going to be a little too tall and surprisingly they are not. They are very comfortable but I think I could’ve gotten away with the 9 1/2 inch thrashin supply risers or around that height. The whole reason I wanted the risers to begin with was not to make the bike aesthetically better looking, but make it more comfortable on long rides, keeping my arms at a 90° parallel bend.
