Inspired by the West Coast, Club-Style scene and Laidlaw's Harley-Davidson Battle of the Kings World Championship build - the Coast Glide. Marco goes into all the modifications he made and how the bike is truly tailored to his riding needs.

The coast glide is a bike that Harley seriously needs to consider, they are missing out on something that could be huge! I like this version using the low rider S.
That is why my buddy and myself are holding off on our new HDs untill 2021.
100%..They're just more nimble than the bigger SG & RG..
I sold my street glide 2 months ago and going the softail route. looking at building my version of the low rider s into a coast glide. gonna wait till the 2021 bikes are release later in the year before I pull the trigger on my new Harley.
2022 here: Dude, you called it!
You were right!
That bike is the closest to a perfect low rider s build I have ever seen. Good freakin job 👍
That bike is fantastic! Harley pay attention to these builds, it's what the people want. Kudos to Laidlaws HD for building this bike! Great job.
Thanks brother.
Harley needs to bring back the FXRT sport glide.
fastz24 - It’s better to build one yourself , Harley would rank up the price up to $35k. Fuck that
Yeah build your own used dynatails are cheap to buy
Agreed except it would be too much money
Check out Dirty Deez new HD CEO video man.
Nothing can beat how you do your Harley’s cross the pond 🙌
Thank you
Matt Laidlaw I got a Sportster as my first bike and through the Harley’s found an obsession to a motorcycles. Wishes from 🇬🇧
TheOneWhoEndures I do fully, trust me. One of not many did 43k miles in three years 😍 Thanks 👊
THIS is exactly what I want to see offered by the Company. What an excellent design!
I love the design and colors of the paint job. You made many changes and you made them with class. Congradulations.
Also congradulations to Matt on producing a great video to show it off. Great job guys!
I can't wait to see what is next.
Red is my favorite color, my goodness I love this bike. If only I wasn’t poor 😭
Now it’s factory!!! Crazy how this guy was ahead of the curve!!
Already spent 20k on the bike with a stage 1. What's another 20k for bags and accessories?
And that drone footage was great
Thank you
@@MattLaidlaw - Your drone footage here of Angeles Crest, your Newcombs Ranch ride, and your Coast Glide I & II are most insanely beautiful videos you've produced - IMHO. Great job on the videos and the builds.
The original fxrt was a tour de force and these reimaginings just stoke the fires of desire!
The original FXRT's were the best bike they have ever made IMO. A true sport touring bike that was way ahead of it's time. I remember well fro 1986 when we couldn't give them away, now they are the holy grail.
You hit that build outta the park man! Beautifully put together and summed up perfectly with "this is what should be coming out of Harley-Davidson."
Hopefully, they are listening and offer people like you a job.
I like that intro into the history of the road. Every once in a while you talk motorcycle history. Great video, awesome bike. See you guys sometime in the future!
Thanks man. See you soon
Video production quality is second to none.
It’s an awesome ride, I’ve done it several times on different types of bikes and it never gets old. I would recommend riding up to red box road and out to the observatory, the view is breathtaking. Great content.
@@RotorKev I agree. I love the ride to Newcombs Ranch and Red box road, with such beautiful scenery and winding roads!
Wow that's Beautiful! If I had the money I would buy that bike in a heartbeat. Congrats and great job the bike is fantastic...
ya not a bad way to spend 80k
@@heazy87 matt said it was around $30k... He actually said $30k+, so I guess that could be $80k😂🤣😂
@@0351marinemike it's definitely more than 30k. My stock fxlrs was 23k out the door
I always like seeing builds like these. On the east coast we dont really get to see stuff like this, just stretched and chromed busas. West coast styles are where it's at.
Thanks man. Thanks for watching.
Corporate needs to hire MATT and his team.
That exhaust tone is awesome. Love the drone footage.
And he is having to do the first 500 miles at 55mph and 2,500 rpms. Would like to see him come back after the break in and listen to it as he gets into the throttle.
This thing sounds like shit
I love the sound and performance of those TBR pipes.
Ok I'll be honest this is prolly the 8th time I've watched this video in full. Great work. This bike down to every screw is what I would build if I could. Just orange where the red is. Hands down the nicest bike I've ever seen.
Haha thanks man. We are happy how it turned out. I think Marco is a happy man too
Holy smokes. That is a wonderful build. I love that it hits all three aspects of what makes harley davidson the best. Beauty, power and utility. Most builds will disregard one of the three pillars of HD in order to lean into the other two. But this build is a perfect balance of all three pillars. Job well done. Congratulations.
Really cool that the 2022 low rider st took so many of your ideas! Great build!
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a pipe I like as much as my Thunder Header….
Till now. That Two Brothers sounds wicked
We flew out to Cali last summer on a PCH ride up to SF with a side track through Yellowstone over to Mammoth. We ventured onto Ventura by accident. The curvy, hilly canyon riding in this video reminds me of that day. I wish we could make the trip every year. Great job showcasing the beauty of Cali's back roads. I love new vintage Cali cruiser style bike!
Thanks for watching. Maybe you went through Yosemite? Yellowstone is in Wyoming.
I plan on doing more video like this in the future.
Seeing this build makes me rethink going into the touring models for my own needs. What a cool bike!!!! Matt you also have taken your videos to the next level! Nice job!
Thank you my friend. I'm always trying to "up my game"
@@MattLaidlaw what crash bar is on this bike?? I love the paint schemes you put on your bikes. I'm doing something along these lines on my lowrider ST.
Man, that is a sick bike! Everyone involved should be proud.
Thank you
He’s cell phone light is harleys new day maker! Hahahaha 😂🤣 sick bike
Yea, I noticed it was one when I was editing. haha
The exhaust sound sick on this wow
Just as awesome as I expected! The paint, mods, exhaust, fairing, suspension, bars, on and on. You guys nailed it again! I’ll say it one more time...Harley should listen to Cali and Laidlaws if they truly want to grow their market even more. Great job! I guess I can go on with my life now that the video has made it to YT.
Kudos to you sir, and the team @ Laidlwas for always building bikes nothing short of excellent
I hate the pipes, but everything else if the red had been a burnt orange that would be the bike of my dreams. Amazing job!
If you like orange check out Matt's video of the Battle of the Kings Global Championship winning build the original "Coast Glide" that's the bike that started it all for us!
@@TheKeithhurt I did. Partly how I ended up with a 2020 sport glide 🤣🤣 My shop didn't have one, I was in Anaheim for work so I stopped by Laidlaws and checked out the sport glide they had. Didn't say hi to Matt cuz "omg I'm a huge fan autograph my boob would be weird but damn hes tall lol. Almost bought it but then realized Cali taxes would kill me so I bought it here in Wyoming the moment it came off the truck 😁
What an amazing build! Bought my first Harley last year, a Dyna Street Bob. Loved it so much I just purchased a Road Glide special earlier this week so that my wife and I can both enjoy riding. HD's are amazing machines.
Nice man. H-D's are just fun motorcycles - plain and simple.
@@MattLaidlaw
Thanks Matt. I must say you had a bit of an influence on my new bike. I was blown away with the performance bagger review you did a while back. So I opted for the Kraus T Bar setup and just pulled the trigger on a stage 3 job earlier today. The west coast/performance theme definitely stands out here in the midwest.
Can't get enough of you're reviews, keep up the good work!
Marco, you and Laidlaw's knocked it out of the park. Congrats on a world-class build!
This is one of the most beautiful bikes I've ever seen. Love it ❤
yet another amazing build out of Laidlaws!! Great job LHD team and to Marcos! perfect mixture of style and performance!!
Lowrider ST before Harley did it. Guess they listened.
Badass scoot! It does look like something Harley Davidson SHOULD build!
Everything about this build is spot on. You captured the essence of the FXRT. Amazing visuals as well.
I think Harley saw your video and took all your ideas for the new Low Rider ST
Your bike is Great!
Gorgeous bike!!! 🤩
This one is the most beautiful Low Rider I've seen so far.
It's so unfortunate about what H-D is doing and how they're doing but Matt Laidlaw, Laidlaw H-D, & Keith Hurt are kicking teeth in with these MC designs and builds. Some of the best builds i've seen in years for sure! THESE are the H-D MC's youngsters and some older riders will want to ride and pay big $$ for. Well done Keith Hurt & Laidlaw H-D.
Absolutely Beautiful! You Spanish guys got it going on. Thank you for sharing with us.
the paint is super. love that head light too. nice looking bike. very fuctional and still looks great.
Seriously, I could write a book about what I just saw! However I'll just say, excellent, excellent! Congratulations and ride it well.
Yes, a REAL sports-tourer and without the damn weight of an Ultra. This thing goes, handles and tours - and the saddlebags and top box can be easily removed for the non-touring times. Something respected brands like BMW and Triumph have been doing for yonks. HD just can't get it right. Glad you guys did.
I think I have watch almost all of Matt's videos...your bike is the best...your bike is the best...your bike is the best...who shot the vid...Matt...if you stick to this format...going back to March....incredible vid...of all the bikes Matt has showcased...up to now...Sep 30 2020....Marco you killed it...(MBB) Matt's Best Bike 2020!
Sick sled that MoCo needs to release this year....if they want to push more iron and get young folks thinking about riding it has to be under $20k.
Just bought a 2018 sport glide with a paint job on it from Seth at Aggressive Designs. His work completely changed the look of the bike. Thank you for all this inspiration of what I can do to it in the future. I love the red accents
Your videos just get better and better. A great job man Matt. The video layout is top notch. And the commentator did a great job. His bike is amazing. And he let the public know a lot about it. Not scripted. Well done.
Matt, you're driving me crazy with those E P I C Lowrider s footages. STUNNING BIKE. I'm really planning on building a mile-eating lowrider s tour package. Awesome video thanks man
Haha thanks man
Good lord what an awesome setup and truth be told, one of my favorite HD flavors -- The old one that is.
That's why I went with Harley over Indian. You can get so creative with Harleys. Plus Harley will give you a huge accessories catalog with your purchase. Matt beautiful drone footage you guys knocked it out the park with this video.
Thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻
This guy should be a Harley Davidson build architect!! This build is amazing !!!
Man Matt you guys once again knocked it out the park. I’m from NY and I have the same bike. I will definitely have to save up and work something out where I can send you my bike and have your team do the same for me. You guys are unbelievable. Right on bro. 👍🏻
Thanks man. I appreciate the comment
Very nice.
Way out of my price range, but I love it.
Thank you for all of the great content.
I agree with MarvelKid87 that Harley needs to understand and develop a marketing strategy around social media influencers.
I’ve always ridden naked sport bikes (79 Suzuki GS1000, 07 Honda 919, 16 KTM SDGT, 18 Yamaha MT10).
Never thought I would consider a Harley.
However I think I’ve reached the stage that I need to slow down just a bit (I’m 42).
Still want to be able to have fun on the back country roads and don’t want to give up all performance and handling aspects.
But don’t need to be twisting the throttle and going serious triple digit speeds (in a few seconds) every time I ride, and taking 45 mph corners at 90+.
I know it won’t be able to be pushed as hard as a sport bike, but that’s the point. A bit more laid back but still can offer enjoyment when you want to let it rip and throw it around a bit.
Without always worrying that you’re 1 well positioned officer away from a trip to jail and a license suspension.
I know self control is a big part of that, but honestly, what’s the point of a sport (or sport naked) bike if you’re going not going ride it like it was designed for.
Anyway, all of that to say, the Low Rider S seems like the perfect fit, and IMO the type of direction Harley needs to head in if they want to attract riders like me from other bike segments/manufacturers.
But they also have to get the word out and pique interest.
And without your guys work on UA-cam I seriously doubt it would have been on my radar.
I don’t know how well their strategy of trying to break into other segments is going to work (if they continue that path with the new CEO).
It may, and they may need to try, but for people who want an adventure or naked sport bike, the bikes will need to meet or beat their competitors in performance and handling aspects and be in the same price range.
Doubt they will convert many current Harley riders to the new categories (and not gaining market share if the do).
And to bring people over from the market leaders in these segments, will have to meet those stated criteria.
I just don’t see many people buying a non-traditional (for Harley) segmented bike, that offers less performance and value than the competitors, just because of the name and heritage.
But IMO they can bring people from other segments to a “traditional style Harley” if it offers increased performance characteristics, while being priced “reasonably.”
At least people like me, that still want some performance, but are willing (and want) to step away from sport bike performance, as long as the price isn’t outrageous for what you are getting (but still willing to pay some premium for the brand).
This video and this bike are another level. Fantastic production value and an amazing bike. Thanks very much for sharing Marco and Matt.
Thanks Clint
That is 100% the coolest looking Low Rider S on the planet. Very well done!!!!!
You were two years ahead of H-D and the Low Rider ST!
If stuff like this was available on the showroom floor in a similar price point to the limited tour bikes (obviously without the hard asf paint, that definitely bumps the price point.) I feel like the softail line would begin pulling some of the tour bike riders over. Add more diversity to the touring style bikes on the road. Our dealership just slapped a 131 into a Lowrider S, if we could have taken it this far it would have been AMAZING!
Thanks to ppl like you Harley is finally coming out with the low rider st!! Thanks for the inspiration, for us the non originals we got to get it from factory. You have a beast of a bike
That really came out great. If Harley sold a bike like that I’d buy.
Wow this is a beautiful bike. Well done. You guys really do a nice job. I had the pleasure of stopping in once when I was working in the area.
That’s the bike Harley needs to make at a grate price point to save it self --- Awesome video Matt 👍😎👍
I would buy this in a heartbeat if harley came out with this...
The new low rider st is heavily inspired by builds like this. I love these kind of cruisers.
an amazing design, colour combo just pops as the comments below this is what HD should out in the range
I still can not understand how Harley dont see the potential of this style. On the other hand i think this is an excelent move from the laidlaws to get into the afternarket business
We have always sold aftermarket parts. Genuine H-D is our core because there are other benefits to using it like warranty and fitment. We have always supported aftermarket customization as long as it doesn't compromise safety, warranty, and reliability.
One of the sickest harleys I’ve seen, great job going through the process and parts too, very well explained
This is exactly what I built with my 2014 lowrider. Why isn’t Harley listening to the Harley community trends? This is a bike that even the loyal old timers would buy. Light n nimble and fast! To bad I already have this. In 2022 if Harley makes it it will out sell everything in their inventory.
Finally,finally,FINALLY! SOMEONE GETS IT!
That is sick, I love it. Great job!
enjoy the ride
I really hope the company is paying attention to all this! Yet another incredibly inspiring build and feature on your page Matt. Marco, that thing is a stone killer man! Keep up the great work fellas
Thanks man. 👍🏻👍🏻
@@MattLaidlaw whats a build similar to this cost starting with a low s as the base ?
I had an fxrt and it was the best bike I ever owned
Wow that's a beautiful bike.
I absolutely love this build! Congratulations on such an awesome bike.
Harley Davidson’s are a Tuner’s playground. All things speed and torque are possible with the mighty classic V-Twin. Life’s short, just buy the bike.
Everyone's dream. You should be a part of the product development team at HD. Gibson Guitar was facing the same challenges HD faces, CEO derailment included. Now, an investment group lead by real players and collectors are at the helm. And, though not perfect, they have started a 180 degree approach that includes keeping the classic past intact and the future, practical & exiting. Mark Agnesi & Cesar Guerkian are amazing guitar experts. They were very critical of the past leadership. Now, they have Gibson Brands future on their hands. You and a bunch of other HD insiders should do the same. Willie G did it back in the day. The moment is now. Before it's too late. This bike is an example. The Crest is biker heaven!
🤘🏻😎⚡️
That's a kewl $75+K easy - Beautiful bike! Gawd Dang!
I like the drone footage and him explaining the history
great bike fantastic video Matt the scenery is amazing to see here in the Uk , more videos like this please 😉👍
Thanks for watching
Matt Laidlaw what is the part number of the rear seat please, and is that a standard main seat
She's shine bright like a Diamond!!!
Best looking new generation softail I've seen so far.
Paint job is tremendous 👏
What a great bike. My favorite to date. That bike is so me. - Also I love the ride on Hwy 2 - Awesome vid.
That is one of the most gorgeous motorcycles I've ever seen. I have a 19 CVO Rdglide with similar colors and a 2020 Low Rider S that is now so plain it's killing me lol.
One of the nicest bike I have ever seen. Thanks
Beautiful, just beautiful!!!
I love everything about that bike , looks amazing!!!!!!!
Matt I think Harley should give you a huge commission or royalties for every new LowRider ST sold. The current “designers” literally ripped you off
One awesome looking machine, as usual ya'll knocked it out of the park.
Shoutout to my dude Marco!
Beautiful bike! I usually hate blacked out bikes but on this one it just works! Probably too small for a tall guy like myself but I agree that if Harley made something like this at a non-astronomical price it would be a big seller...
Matt in these crazy times call this video “self isolation” at its best👍💪🇺🇸👊💪🇺🇸👍
haha Thanks right!. Get out and self-isolate on the open road.
Top Notch! Mechanics did a great job
Gears & Gadgets sent me to this awesomeness !
Welcome.
Sweet looking and sounding , after seeing this I'm almost ready to trade in 2017 FXDL for the 2020 S and make some of these mods. You guys nailed it ,
Thanks man
Beyond Awesome! Not a fan of the exhaust note, sounds like something is knocking or vibrating too much, though it could just be the mic setup.
Fabulous bike. Wonderful paint. I'd take that in a heartbeat. Quieter exhaust for me though please. Are you all deaf over there? ;-)
The exhaust grows on you and then you can't ride without it.
MojoMan Murph Ha! U fortunately I have hypersensitive hearing and can’t deal with the super loud pipes. I had a modded XR1200R with V&H pipes that rendered it unridable for any real distance.
that is a straight up good looking bike good job hd
I love the sound of the TBRs
This one is truly a cut above the rest! If I had the money and luxury to buy one, this would be absolutely it! Definitely! Beautiful job.
Thank you. Thanks for watching man. 👍🏻
That build is so sick it gave me Corona virus!
Everyone is getting one
Haha, I'll have to use that one
