I was so high and watched this guy talk about grass idk why lol
I'll take an honest company that admits a mistake and corrects it any day of the week. Speaks volumes!
That is awesome

Seeding Bermuda Grass... Is it best to seed in the spring. I know this is backwards, but with the grass going into dormancy, does that stunt the seeding and sprouting process? Is the winter dormancy too harsh on on newly seeded Bermuda? I know everyone says fall seeding, but with dormant warm season grasses wouldn't early spring be the best time?
What were your soil temps in the winter prior to the following spring and did you have any ice crystallization? I have had this happen to me on all types of bermuda hybrid or seeded. I lost an entire field one season and didn't know until June because rye was still pumping.
I had the same thing happen, I overseeded Riviera in May and was looking great by August, however I made the mistake of spraying Simizine for my fall pre......never came back.
I'm very interested in your use of Simizine. I have a fescue yard and my neighbor's bermuda has recently crept into my yard. I wonder if Simizine would stop it?
I have one that doesn't want to grow in either. Seeded Kentucky Bluegrass on a 10k square foot section of a 1 acre yard in October last year. Had it coming up by thanksgiving. Came out this spring to hammer it with some fertilizer and I barely had 20 percent coverage. Looks like I'm in the same boat you were. Gonna have to overseed the heck out of it. Even got a soil test done to make sure I hadn't overlooked something. Test came back damn near perfect so looks like a 3 way app and seed it up again. Failure sucks especially when you can't figure out why. Guess mother nature has her own plans for our seeding jobs!
Velvethamma aerate and overseed with long fescue and do not fertilize or use any type of weed control them along for 90 days and you'll have a beautiful lawn
david drake Unfortunately the owner refused anything but bluegrass. No Ryegrass or fescue allowed
Dickens Supply is awesome. They are my go to. What Bermuda seed have you had the best success with?
I saw this video 2 days after my seeding, I started pre germination Aug 7th, seeded Aug 14th, looking great on Sept 17th. Putting nothing negative on the grass after seeing this, hope it survives
In the fall the turf grass rule of thumb is that Bermuda should not be planted after mid August... AND it should not be planted later than 90 days before first expected frost in more Northern states or 60 days before first expected frost / freeze in more deep-south Southern locations. Again, keep in mind that when temperatures at night are 60 or lower that the growth establishment activity of this grass slows or stops. In areas where low temperatures do not occur it may be planted year round (Hawaii, Caribbean, South Florida).
the truth comes out!! hehe I feel better about my germination blanket failure now!
Grass Daddy you live, you learn!
The Grass Factor never try to seed a yard with Bermuda seed LOL
Do you have any clue why
Revolver is great but unless you're dealing with the fringe around a TPC green, it is beyond overpriced
Sooo did you ever fix this lawn? And if so how?
I had the same thing happen to me.
I ended up getting a pallet of sod and used a power rake to shred it up into sprigs.
Spread them out and top dressed it with soil 3 from super sod.
Watered it every 4 hours and pushed it with nitrogen.
Ta Da Nice bermuda yard this year. And yes I ate the cost to make it right.
Great video Matt
David Hall I've been in the lawn care business for 11 years and we never recommend overseeding with Bermuda. That stuff just doesn't grow worth a damn. if you're going to aerate and overseed do it with Fescue never Bermuda. And if you got to have Bermuda buy the sod and do it right. I also rarely recommend people to buy Bermuda sod I think Zoysia is a much better grass and doesn't take as much water to keep the long green all summer. and it looks better. very much worth the extra cost per pallet
What’s your process for watering Bermuda and zoysia seed?
Is that common or hybrid Bermuda seed? I'm wanting to overseed this fall but want hybrid Bermuda seed if possible. Thanks
your honest and work ethics are getting all too rare these days.
Matt, what ever happened with this lawn? Can you get us an update video?
I don't have my company anymore but it grew in
How does it look nowadays
I thought i was having a stoke with the repetition of his statements lol
Are we going to get an update
Too late. Needed to be done in June the latest.
💯💯
What if you would have waited a bit?
You might need to change the direction of water coming from the rain gutters. You can see that pipe going right in the back yard.
I HATE BERMUDA. Well kept low maintenance centipede 3 or 4 inches for a soft lush look an feel for south eastern lawns.
Dude.....needs black topsoil!!
This grass is so fucking hardy its annoying. Honestly I'm not the best gardener but ths grass i could keep GREEN no matter what
You cant spray any herbicides on newly seeded Bermuda. You have to wait until the grass has been established for at least 13 months.
What? That is not true
Just trying to help man.
@@borntobuild2249 understood, but that's vehemently not true.
Transcontinental. Tell people not to call you while your recording😬.
