Man doc i know you're retired but your entire lifestyle is soo inspiring to me as a 26 year old. The things you get to do and enjoy in day to day life as simple as they are is exactly what i strive for when i hit retirement. Thanks for the content!
I’ve got hybrid Bermuda so I just take plugs from the good stuff and plug the bare spots instead of messing with seed. 20:5620:56 Spreads and fills in pretty fast.
Im doing a project with my house and i appreciate you answering this question. Ive gotten a ton of mixed answers. I followed and did a bunch of lawn care steps from UA-cam, and found out it was for cool season grass 😅 i have Bermuda, and i just subscribed to you since your a warm season guy (:
What would you recommend for my partial shade areas around fence lines and small shrubs? Zoysia plugs or should I just seed a fescue or other cool season and deal with the different height/look?
I grew my entire front yard from seed. It was lierally a patch of dirt. I used bermuda seed because my frint yard is actual Hell...the sun shines in it ALL DAY.
I'm going to fertilize in a week or so, then middle to end of May I will seed with Maya Blackjack. I will put a soil booster first. Sorta till that area, then seed and a light dusting of peat moss
I don't think it's worth the trouble, time, or problems with distribution. While it may reduce the TIME for growth, the tradeoff is just not a justification IMHO
Decided I am going to reseed. I have hybrid Bermuda. ( used weed killer in my rock beds, didn’t follow directions never diluted the solution and it bleed into my grass killing most of my front lawn.) my plan is to cut low, detach, and aerate. Then will spread LaPrima Bermuda Grass Seed. After watering 2-3 times per day do I need to use any other products? Hancock website is also recommending I buy the fertilizer and Bermuda turf seed. Appreciate your guidance DOC
Thank you much! By the way since watching your videos my zoysia is doing amazing. Almost gave up until finding your channel. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.
Hi Doc I am a new subscriber and need help we live in Indiana and bought a house and the yard is a mess what time of year is best reseed and what kind of grass would you recommend I don’t want to just go buy cheap seed a Tractor supply I want to reseed it’s good seed where would I buy this from thanks rent video Mike P
Doc what if you have common Bermuda and want to convert to a hybrid like Yukon? Do you kill it all and plant two weeks later ( if 80* temps)? I don’t remember a video on this. Thanks for all your help, we have been enjoying your knowledge for several years.
Yep I had to kill off everything with glyphosate twice and then come back and spot treat for a third application. Common Bermuda is hard to kill completely. Once all dead I seeding Monaco and it turned out great. Gotta baby it when seeding. Careful about your watering.
east Texas had a killer lawn last year. This year i decided to fertilize it. Followed directions, and fried it, all died. So this week i raked all dead grass and set the lawn on fire to remove all dead stuff. Reseeded n watering to keep it wet for 10 days. Next time if the bag says use setting 5 im using 2

I purchased the Yukon Bermuda Seed from Hancock last week. Great product.
How’s the result? I am about to purchase the same and will request your feedback if it really worked?
Yea! How is it?
@@PEACE_LUVRdid you plant it?
@@jonsutubechannel Planted seed and looks pretty good. I watered 3 times a day for about a month and got fast results.
@@T1000-j6d, thank you! Does it look thin blade to match the hybrid grass? Did you get it from Hancock. If you have a picture, can you share?
The ranch is alive. Beautiful!

Probably a fescue if it's shade.

Doc - I despise my old sod Bermuda lawn. Live in North GA transition zone. Do you have any content on transitioning to ryegrass or fescue lawn?
I'm in the same area as you but I have followed his advice for pushing that sod and it has worked out quite well for me.

I think you'll find the PEAT might cause issues if you have a heavy rain. It tends to float and bunch up.
What is your opinion on pre-germinating seed by soaking in 5 gallon bucket?
I don't think it's worth the trouble, time, or problems with distribution. While it may reduce the TIME for growth, the tradeoff is just not a justification IMHO

Can you put micro clover in with Bermuda grass? I live in upstate South Carolina.
What if I'm re-seeding with the exact seed I did a renovation with last year??
Good to go
Hey Doc, do you know when The Andersons will have Dirt Booster Plus back in stock? They have been out over 2 weeks.
Got any nice bass in that pond?
Amazing job. Thanks Doc
Instead of over seeding my 4 year old bermuda sod grass, I'm being told to aerate. Will this promote root growth?
How often are you watering your blueberries in the absence of rain?
Same as the orchard... Once a week if we don't have rain.
I really want a hat like that Doc. I just had some skin cancer taken off and need to start covering my bald head up lol. What brand is it?
This one came from Walmart $14 but GoldCoast hats has some good ones too.

I have a lawn that is about 95 % fescue with some Bermuda, I want a Bermuda lawn , what do you recommend to kill the fescue ? thanks for your time.
Doc, get some gooseberry or currant bushes, taste so good and very healthy.
GOD Bless Texas!

Yes you'd have to kill with PLAIN GLYPHO first. Then seed once you have a rain event.
Thank you

That is coated-seed, no, the crimson clover? (not the actual seed size)

how many racoons have you taken off the land lately? You think the turkey's are safe?
Up to 89 in 13 months. It's actually getting harder to catch them which is a good thing.

Love all your stuff Doc. Would love to see Kyle from @nativehabitatproject and you team up to build up a native Savannah style on your property.
