On my way to the lone tree i noticed another headlight, it was not alone, it was nice to meet another subscriber and have a laugh while we waited for the sun to rise..

many thanks
Hi mate. Fabulous set of shots and I do like the infrared shots.
thanks buddy
was your calendar ok in the post
Really enjoying the IR Paul, new to it myself so it's nice to see it in use and your imaginative perspectives
Welcome aboard!
hi Paul, some very useful information on composition ,you seem to be nailing the IR images brilliantly without any tips from anyone.
its good fun
nice video again, i like infared stuff, will one day try it myself, i liked the RAW to jpg bits always like to see how people bring them out , keep doing that
its good fun
Hi Paul, great vlog as usual, your images were great and the IR images are definitely improving. I'm going to book a day with your good self, haven't decided where yet but most likely the Lake District. I want to talk about the Faroe Islands trip 2024 also 😁 cheers mate.
Sounds like a plan, yes we need to chat as i all ready have a few names down as possibles
@@paulcomptonpdphotography Hi Paul, I left a mail on your site re the one to one day, but haven't had a reply, maybe you could direct message me on my site, that's in moth balls at the moment 😂 Definitely want to get a one to one sorted for beginning of November or December, preferably a Saturday or Sunday.
Sorry missed these old comment replies
Image at 12:06 is fabulous
many thanks
Thank you, Paul, for another enjoyable video. As an alternative to the obvious use of infrared photography, depicting white foliage etc. I enjoy using my infrared camera for photographing ancient monuments, priories and ruined buildings of all kinds. The infrared seems to add that extra something to the textures on stone and brick and is a technique I have used many times. My camera is 720nm converted as well. Your infrared images work very well I have to say. Keep up the good work.
that sounds like a plan, how do you approach that then, same sun light
@@paulcomptonpdphotography Yes Paul the same approach, but I like sidelight that picks up the textures better. I also like the low light this time of the year.
good shout
Thanks, Paul, for showing us the raw images and then the edited ones at the end. I think it really emphasises to people just what can be achieved in post and wow what a difference. Photography is very subjective and down to personal choice. I must admit I generally prefer the colour images over the infrared but that said I really liked the one of the big tree at 14:45 📷👏👏
i would like to show the RAW more now but not always having time
Beautiful location.. great pics.. not a fan of IR at all but that being being said they look well and nicely edited
haha its fun to try
I think the IR images were the better ones, especially for a subject that has been photographed so many times before. Well done!
i liked then as well
Infra Red photos of the hills and clouds I enjoyed, others found to be interesting but not my cup of tea.
i could say the same its fun
For me infrared works best with architecture and city scapes as it really brings out the contrasts in the whites and blacks. I don't like what it does with foliage, but it works well with the mountain top picture as it adds drama and detail to the scene.
i want to try city with it great idea
Cool images, was this the Dave I bumped into at castele Eden dene
haha he gets around then
ta
Does Buttermere Lake actually have a Tide? No, just rippling from the winds - Will try following you on vero
no just the way i say it
Take walk down local canal with IR will be amazed. You want to shoot blue skies and same principals as normal photography its about direct light. Drop me a DM and can meet up with IR cams
i am getting there
Okay, I know this is sacrilegious but I think the view of the lone tree .... is better without the tree. A scrubby tree distracting from the beauty of the light on the hills beyond, I guess I'd be asking myself would I be shooting this tree if it wasn't stood where it was.
Do still like your IR shots. Particularly the one of the light on the hills. Something I haven't seen a vlog on so far on You Tube is someone doing street photography with IR.
haha never thought of that.. maybe next time ill not shoot it
You asked. I love your color photography and I really dislike all infrared photography. I click off Thomas Heaton if that is his focus. I just don't get it. Nothing looks like that.
I love black and white photography but nothing looks like that either. Infra red , colour and black and white are all different genres of image making but as all photography its down to individual taste.
lol its just fun, not to take away from the colouyr, but sometimes there is no photo but with IR there is
its all different tastes
