Dr.youn, what's the best thing for dark and puffy under eye problems? Please help. I hope you read this. Thank you.
Nutrition is CRITICAL to plastic surgery success! That really needs to be part of the training
Yes, you need to be healthy to heal well..
Dr Youn, I had a reduction with catastrophic complications. I quit smoking nearly a month prior, as instructed. But my surgeon did not tell me it was the NICOTINE, not just the cigarettes, I needed to quit. I used nicotine gum to quit. And developed necrosis on my left side, losing the entire nipple and areola complex…. Doctors have to adequately inform patients. I don’t think my surgeon gave me proper pre op instructions. I’m glad you’re usually really in depth with videos pertaining to surgical risks.
Im so sorry you went through this. It should be every doctors job to let patients know the risks and aftercare that needs to be done correctly.
@@TheNanamariam thank you. There was a long wait before I could get reconstruction (by a different surgeon!). But the new doctor did a great job.
Our doctors all have said to stop smoking.
Oh wow I’m so sorry that happened to you! Your doctor should’ve said something
@@stacycamacho59 I did stop smoking…. It was the nicotine itself that was the issue.
I had my third major operation (spinal) in a private clinic in Switzerland. They started me off with supplements in oral, intramuscular injection and IV form six weeks in advance of the surgery. Amazing. It was the only time that I didn’t get post-op bronchitis and the healing, including scarring, was optimal, despite me having been under anaesthesia for more than four hours. I hthen had eight weeks post-op of supplements. The resulting recovery time was reduced to 1/3 compared to each the previous two operations. This was probably due in part to the fact that I was able to breath and sleep better, thanks to not being chronically ill with respiratory problems (as in the first two OPs). It was an eye opener to me regarding what money can buy in terms medical care. The first two ops were on health insurance. The last one was privately funded and there was no limit to spend. The cost difference in the end was only about 15% more in total for the the private care. A lot of money was saved due to a much shorter hospital stay.
What clinic was that
Can you adjust the music in your next video? It was way too loud, hard to listen to what you were saying
Great to see light being shed in these misconceptions. We need more honesty about what it can and can’t achieve as people deserve to know before getting themselves into something that will change their life forever.
My breast reduction scars are so big and awful! As a ginger, I’m not risking that on my face!
Gingers also need more anesthetic.
My hair has red undertones not ginger and my tummy tuck scar is ugly 😢
I also have red undertones and I unfortunately need more anesthesia compared to others. Wisdom teeth needed nerve block plus about 4 rounds of local.
Someone just told me about Silicone Tape. I ordered a roll to try it for a scar I have. She's a ginger and she said it works for her.
Have you looked into pico laser treatments? They supposedly help scars look better.
A friend had cesarean births and her scars looked frightening. Now I know why, she's an Irish ginger.
Not necessarily. Us 'gingers' need to take better care. I use silicone tape and it WORKS.
I never heard of silicone tape. Just ordered a roll to try out on a scar I have. Thanks.

Mine looked so bad, I had it removed. The new scar is better, but still not brilliant. I must say I am very allergic, the surgeon said my skin over reacts to trauma.
The truth hurts. We have to weed all this stuff out. Thank you Dr. Young for doing that there’s no price too high for correct information and nothing more you can suffer from bad information.
Background music is too high, i couldn't watch the video till the end
Daaang the Doc isnt messing around today
Music is way too loud around the half way mark
I honestly believe that a good plastic surgeon, who has had the proper training and is certified, cares about their patients will not do a procedure that will harm their patients. For example Dr. Mark Ashton said, there is no plastic surgeon in Australia, that will do a BBL because we all know how dangerous that operation is. On the other hand there are so many people that are focused on plastic surgery procedures. As a result doctors are taking these short courses in plastic surgery and calling themselves cosmetic surgeons. Some of these so called surgeons are doing these procedures to broadcast on social media or for profit and what I have seen, there is no respect for the patient. These so called surgeons will do any procedure including the BBL.
Thank you for your honesty Dr. Youn.
My facelift in 2016 cost $7,000. I am thrilled with the results of my PTO threads I had done a year ago.The cost is nowhere near what you quoted.
Genuine question, I always heard when you got liposuction, your body tries to immediately(or just quickly) remake the fat that it has lost. In the video you said it doesn’t come back unless you actively gain weight. Is it just an old wives tale?
Honesty!!! Refreshing ❤❤❤
Loving your work with a generous dose of reality :)
I remember seeing tons of infomercials for thread facelifts in 2003. It’s fascinating hearing now about what was being advertised back then.
I wish I had seen this before I wasted $$$$ on thread lifts. I could’t see any difference after only a couple months. The doctor I went to wasn’t honest about the results and even claimed that the sutures would cause me to produce more collagen and the results would last even longer.
I’m sorry that happened to you
It happened to me 3 x threads still show in skin years after ... threads come out.
But all gone 2 months the lift
Preach it doc ❤
I have done threadlift 3.5 years ago 🪡 Never do it,threadlift the worse experience also, it made my looks 20+ years old aged.I use to look 18-19 years girl after thredlift it makes my skin dimples and hollowed uneven and lower face looks so loose now people think i am 40+ or 45+ age people dont believe i am under 30.I wish i go back to my age backward. And thredlift botched is permanenet.
I used to get thread lifts and I did like the result but the result would only last two months tops. I did this a couple of times before I stopped wasting my money and had an actual surgical facelift. Way better result and money well spent 👌
HI where did you get your face lift.. I was having thread lifts for years.. they lat like you 2 months... same
I found removable stitches leave a far less noticeable scar on me than dissolvable stitches.
Interesting. I’m currently a plastic surgery patient because a bunch of my spinal hardware has eroded through my skin. I need muscle grafts to cover the metal that cannot be removed, so I’ve been seeing plastic surgeons at a large urban medical center, and nutrition has been a key topic during my care. In fact, I’m under the care of a hospital dietician, who recommended certain vitamins, minerals, and supplements for wound healing, along with nutrition advice and meal planning. I think the focus on nutrition is a welcome addition to medical care and long overdue. Maybe it will just take time for other medical specialties to make the connection between positive outcomes and diet?
You poor thing🙏
Love your candor ❤
The threadlift procedure sounds so scary and pointless!
3:13 that dude is gonna be in my nightmares 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
I think that suture lift might be a good idea for people who are considering a regular facelift but aren't sure if it's really something they'd like. That way if they don't like it, it'll just go back to normal after time.
Thank you for being an honest surgeon ❤
Please no background music. Annoying
I work in aesthetics and Sculptra is the best thing since sliced bread imo. I personally will never put filler in my face. I had Kysse in my lips and it took 2 entire vials to completely dissolve. Was a mess and super painful! The thought of having to do that in my face. 😬 Nope!
What is a good prebiotic?
If I was wealthy in money, I’d do a thread lift for a special occasion. But I’m not down for surgery on my face.
That's what I was thinking too. Like a big anniversary, birthday, or reunion.
Don't do it. Maybe it's rare or maybe people just doesn't know that it's from that but your body can reject the thread and you can have a terrible inflammation and allergies. It's not worth it.
@@ada6044 good to know!
hey doc! hoping you and your family are doing well..saw a couple vids were its been said that women who had the bbl " smell"..? ?
Excellent 🙏🏻🌷✨🙏🏻
Hi Dr. Youn, don't know if you will see this, but do you have any skincare advice for someone who is having their ovaries removed? I'm 37 and pretty scared as to how this will affect me and any recommendations you can give would be appreciated 🙏
We are going into a new Frontier a rejuvenation and I’m not gonna call it Anti Aging. It’s rolling back. The clock can’t do it without nutrients Dr you’re probably the best thing the best person that we have for telling the truth and actually helping people with reality. reality check I’m 78 you’re not gonna make me look like a 30 year old not you don’t mean that I mean, we haven’t progress that far
Doc I have a question
I had co2 full face three weeks ago. For some reason I can now see a festoon line across my cheek. Will this go away. Love the co2 it’s great but this is ruining my appearance. Wonder if there is something to dissolve what looks like fluid under the skin ???
Cab you give your opinion on lemon bottle fat dissolving injections
That nutrition through iv…..AMAZING lol
I had a post surgical ileus, tube up my nose (forget what its called), and couldn’t eat or drink for 10 days. I had a bilateral hysterectomy, cervix, appendix and lymphnode removal, part of my stomach wall (still dont understand that) and the removal of my volleyball sized tumor so it was a long surgery. I lost 25 pounds in those 10 days. Which was really needed because the ovarian cancer made me gain 80 in 3 months. Do they use this as a weight loss treatment? Or is it only permanent weight loss when people have gained the weight from non eating habits like ovarian cancer? Because its been 8 years and i haven’t gained it back.
I’m so glad I learned about how scars heal because I’ve had surgeries where you can’t even see the scars, but the scars behind my ears are so noticeable. I had a lower facelift and it’s so obvious and I kept thinking it was the surgeons fault and I just accepted it but now I realize it’s just the way it healed, and of course the scars you can’t see are the ones that are covered by my clothes it’s all on how you roll the dice
I wonder if it helps to have long hair. Maybe that can help cover up the scars behind the ears, but I’m not sure.
Those occlusions from fillers can cause blindness?! Right?
Great video.. I just gotta say... TPN goes through a central line, not an IV :)
I’m just here to remind myself why I’ve never played god with my healthy body.
Dr. Youn, are there cases where people use botox for pain releif? I'm wondering if it's something to talk to my doctor about. But if there's no indication that it helps, then there's no point. It's just a question, I'm not asking for medical advice. I know you should always talk to your family doctor!
great information it's important for people to know that these r BS
Red head here, definitely scar bad, rotator cuff repair, open & orthoscopic, Frankenstein like scar! They overlapped part of the skin, I think they let a newbie stitch me up!
Unfortunately, you have to have a good 'stitcher'. The positioning of the skin 'pieces' has to be as close and flat as possible. THEN use silicone TAPE after the scabs are gone. The cream is useless. I have multiple scars from surgeries, and they are flat an did not widen. I do NOT go out in the sun with them exposed. ALWAYS sunscreen. I wore silicone tape for a YEAR to make sure my body knew to NOT grow more scar tissue. I am 67 now and my hair isn't as red as it used to be, but my skin is obedient because I don't LET it do what it wants, which is grow excess scarring.
Please think twice before you get a thread lifts because your body can reject them and you can have a terrible inflammation and allergies even if they are absorbable sometimes our immune system see them as a threat and try to push them out literally throw the skin. Even a dissolvable stitches can do the same thing. We are not all the same and sometimes as I said our immune system sees everything you put under your skin as a threat.
But can't you deal with the scars through micro needling?
Thank you 🙏🏻
Love from India 🇮🇳
Why wouldn't the surgeon practice aspiration to limit any chance of an Intervenus injection of filler? By the way, I watched a news segment where they interviewed a retired surgeon, who prescribed vitamin D3 to all his patients stating that it helps reduce inflammation, sped up the recovery time and reduced the need for pain meds.
The people at the beauty supply story stopped me. My grey hair started going dark again. They wanted to know my supplements. They also looked at my skin. I use a baby sunscreen, a serum with snow mushroom and a cream with grape sees extract. My pores look much tighter. I have deep wrinkles, but i do not look odd. I am 58.
👍
This is hilarious. I have always been self-conscious of my small forehead. it's 1 of the things that attract me to men 🤣
I was told several times that people with big foreheads were that big because they had big brains... its crazy cant never be happy with what they have 😢
Why don't most plastic surgeons do lipedema removal?
I think it has to do with the regulations in the country you are in. In the EU they are only allowed to do rather small areas. Not all of them are licensed to do them.
@@ich8159 I'm in the USA. We have tons of plastic surgeons in my area. None work on lipedema. I found one 3 hours away.
So why red heads? Red heads have extremely light skin? If light skin heals best why doesn’t that include red grs?
Look it up. He doesn't need to say why.
yoo early 🔥🔥🔥
Talk about bs rosemary oil doesn't regrow hair
